Does Disney print your boarding pass, with seat assignment, and hang it on your door, like they do with other airlines? Or do you have to check in 24 hours ahead to get your seat? Can you check your bag at Disney, like you can with Airtran, or do you have to check it at the airport? I will be using ME and flying to Minneapolis. Thanks.

I have flown Delta, Jetblue and SW home from WDW...and not one time have they hung anything on my door for my departure the next day..not once. I know others have reported something like this happening, but in all reality, you still have to go down to the RAC counter, and check your bags. I can't understand why so many want boarding passes left hanging on their doors.
But...in any case. When you use SW to fly home, you can check yourself in, at the 24 hr window. You can have your resort front desk do this, you can do it from a web-enabled phone, you can go to Guest Services at a park and they will do it for you. Or, you can buy EBCI and let SW check you in at the 36 hr window!!! That's what I prefer to do...that way, no worry about where I need to be. Then, the morning of your departure, you can check your bags at the RAC counter and get your boarding passes printed up. Well...you can do this as long as you are done with your transaction no less than 3 hrs prior to your flight departure. Which means that if you have a flight time of 8:30am or sooner, you are going to have a hard time using RAC. The RAC counter opens at 5am and it can take 15+ mins to get the bags checked and boarding passes issued.
Assuming that you have checked your bags at the RAC counter and been given your boarding passes, you can head to the DME bus stop at the appointed time...be sure to be there no less than 15 mins prior to the time given!!! Then, ride to the airport, and go directly to security.

I wasn't sure if Southwest was a participating airline for baggage check-in. I'm also glad you can check-in while at the parks. That might be the situation here. I've checked-in at other hotels, but never at a park.:thumbsup2

Last November I did the 24 hour SW check in online myself for the family just to be sure it was handled promptly. The morning of our departure we got a packet containing our boarding passes on our door. We went and dropped our bags at the RAC desk and enjoyed the rest of the day until ME picked us up. Great experience for us.

Before SW was on the baggage part of ME it was a nightmare to check bags at the airport generally and they did not have a separate checkin for A-List members so I was dually frustrated.
