Tell me honestly...likelihood of walking up to TS with no ADR?

We walked into Teppan Edo twice a few weeks ago but were turned away from Tutto Italia. As we waited for our table at Le Cellier we saw MANY people being turned away and told they were booked solid for 3 months. Bottom line is it never hurts to try!

Last June it was very busy and we were able to walk in to:
1. San Angel Inn for dinner
2. 50's Prime Time for lunch
3. The Plaza for lunch

Will you be able to walk into LeCellier or Ohana for dinner? Probably not, but with a little flexibilty you should be ok. And defiantely KEEP trying online. We are leaving about the same time you are and this past week I was able to get a 9:00 am breakfast at Crystal Palace (which I was unable to get for weeks).

We just got back. We had reservations for our meals, but I witnessed a lot of walk-ins. My totally unscientific opinion, but it seemed to me like they were holding out more tables for walk-ins than they have in the past. I remember being there during free dining and they'd just turn away anyone that didn't have a reservation. They were taking names and giving out wait estimates last week. The longest I saw was The Plaza at 60 minute wait (tiny restaurant though). We were at Rose and Crown on Thursday at 7pm and it was just a 10 to 15 minute wait for walk-ins - we waited the same and we had a reservation! We walked into The Wave for dinner without a wait even though I called and no reservations were available. San Angel Inn appeared to be taking walk-ins, too.
