Tell me all about your Wedding Cake and how much it was if you don't mind. Pictures would be great too.

You know...funny you should ask.

It was free. A friend of mine did it as a wedding gift for us.

It was supposed to be white frosting with pink and teal decorations...flowers, leaves, that swirly beading type stuff they do on wedding cakes. Pink & teal were the colors in my wedding...circa 1991.

When I walked into the reception, I glanced at the cake and it was all white. Beautiful, and it was delicious too, but it was all white. Not a speck of pink or teal on it.

I never totally found out what happened, but as near as I could figure, she had decorated the separate layers at home with the color scheme and all, put them into her car and on the way got into some sort of near car accident which made the layers go flying around the car, thus ruining them, so she redecorated it at the reception place, but of course, didn't have pink or teal frosting which is why it was all white.

Like I said, it still looked beautiful, so no harm no foul. Actually, several people complimented the cake and how beautiful it was, so I was glad to be able to bring them to the creator so they could compliment her directly. I think she was worried that I'd be upset or disappointed but it was fine.

We had a three tier ivory basket weave decorated with a variety fresh flowers. The cake was chocolate with a mousse filling, delicious. It was approximately $200, and was made by our reception location.

I can't remember how much mine cost. My mom was nice enough to give me a list of all the wedding costs after it was all said & done, but I seemed to have misplaced it :confused3

I loved my cake. It was actually designed after my dress. The top tier resembled the top of my dress, the bottom tier the bottom of my dress, etc. It really was beautiful!

I'll try to scan in some pics later, if you're interested.

Mine was a two-tiered cake with whipped cream frosting in a basket weave pattern and fresh flowers on top. The top tier was white cake with lemon custard filling. The bottom tier was chocolate cake with rasberry filling. It was the MOST delicious cake I have ever tasted. It was $250 and was worth every cent!

Here's a picture of my cake:

My mom made it and put it together (I don't know how much she spent on materials). The topper was about $30 and the roses about $50. It was white cake with almond extract buttercream frosting. My favorite! It was so good. There were also edible clear iridescent sparkles on it, but it didn't show too well in this picture. We even had our top tier for our anniversary this year and it tasted excellent. I wish I was able to eat more cake on my wedding day though. So make sure you get to eat plenty of cake.

My cake was several tiers, white with flowers cascading down the one side on an angle. It wasn't your typical cake, it was New York Cheesecake undearneath a thin layer of frosting.

Mine was fondant (buttercream underneath) with dark chocolate orange flavored cake. It was delicious. I paid about $500 for it, I think? It fed a couple hundred people. I designed it with my baker so it fit my personality just perfectly.

Very cool! Love the whimsy of it. Looks like something Duff would make on Ace of Cakes.

We had a St. Patrick's day wedding (actually on the 15th, but the whole green beer thing). You can see my shamrock shaped cake in this picture. The base was a shamrock. Every tier and section was a different kind of cake. The "tail" of the shamrock (which we cut into) was died green inside (white cake). The flowers were fresh. I think I paid $1.25 per person for the cake...I think the total was about $200?

Please excuse the black block out circle...my DH is funny about his picture on the net...if you want to know why, google "why you should never put your picture on the internet"....Me? I don't care.

Ours was small. It was white cake with chocolate mousse and buttercream frosting. It was sooooooo good. It broke my heart that there was so much leftover and none of us could take it home.

It was $100 plus $25 for the roses. It was for 30 people. I wasn't thrilled with the cake topper. It was just supposed to be roses right on top. But they had that frilly thing for some reason.

It was delicious! It was two layers, with white cream cheese frosting and edible daisies all over it. The cake was the best chocolate cake I've ever had, and truthfully, I hate cake. The filling was the same cream cheese. Superb.

We had a beautiful 3 tiered cake with buttercream icing. Yum. It had a lace pattern and matched my dress. We also had 200 mini 2 tiered cakes to match the big cake to serve all the guests. :)

Mine was a 3 tier white cake with teeny tiny pink rosebuds and pearls (both out of frosting) randomly all over the layers, and the top was a tiny white picket fence with rose covered arbor in the middle. I loved the symbolism of the white picket fence, and the whole look was just very sweet, and simple yet different from any other cake I had or have since seen. We had it copied out of a brides magazine that called it "sweet romance."

It cost around $460. We ordered enough to feed 200, even though we only had 110 guests, because my mom wanted to have more than enough. We ran out very quickly though and there wasn't even one slice left over! It was delicious. Each layer was something different, but I cannot remember what they were.

Ours was included in the buffet. We were on a very tight budget and we were able to find a nice restaurant who up until then mostly catered to business meetings in it's upstairs banquet room. They had a luncheon buffet for $8.95 a person that included chicken, salmon, beef (can't remember what the dish actually was) a starch, salad and a veg. It also included their signature carrot cake. They agreed to put the cakes (4 I think) on different level tiers. I provided them with fresh flowers and the tops the highest one with flowers and decorated the rest (and the table) with flowers and votive candles.

After we had signed the contract and put a deposit, they got a new manager who realized how much money they were losing on weddings. They changed the price for the same buffet to $24 a person. They honored the price that was promised us and provided us with excellent food and service. I can't say enough good things about them. If you've ever been to Saratoga Springs NY and have seen Lillian's, that's where we had our wedding almost 10 years ago.

This was my dream cake in my dream location - the Living Seas VIP lounge.

I don't even want to think about how much it cost but it was more than our car payment...

We got married at Disney and had a Publix cake. It was FANTASTIC, tasted great and was beautiful. It cost around $400 if I remember correctly.

This was ours. The frosting was very non-sweet. Almost a whipped cream. The cake was chocolate layered with raspberry for the middle and the two small sides were vanilla and dulce de leche. Cost including all the little people was about 200.00

The cake was chocolate with vanilla buttercream and was yummy. Not sure what it cost since it was part of the package. The chocolate castle was $100.

Ours was "Cinderella's Castle" and we had Mickey & Minnie on the balcony of the castle. It was $350, 10 years ago. The cake was lemon and yummy!

You can see sort of what it looked like. This isn't the exact cake but it's similar.

Go to gallery, then wedding cakes. Scroll down to the 6th row and that is the cake ours was based on.

My MIL threw a fit that we wanted a Disney Wedding so we had one at home instead (so she had to travel 3000 miles instead of a couple of hours). The cake was our way of bringing Disney into our wedding. We didn't tell anyone about it before the wedding. You should have seen the look of shock on MIL's face when she saw the cake! It was priceless!
