Do you have a treadmill that you really like? I need a new one. My old one was decent, but the belt "walked" to one side and that drove me NUTS!! The new one needs to be high quality (but maybe not health-club quality...that might be expensive). Also, I prefer something that starts out flat but can be set at an incline if I so desire. My old one started out at an incline, and that drove me nuts as well. My biggest desire would be to have a treadmill where the belt stayed in place no matter what. The "walking" to one side was just too annoying...I don't know how I put up with it for so long. Thanks for any recommendations!

I love my Pro Form. I bought it used 8 years ago for $100 and its held up like a champ. I'd never buy a new treadmill -- way too many people out there looking to sell the one they have in their homes currently being used as a clothes hanger. :p

We have a Pro Form Cross Trainer Ultimate LX that we purchased about 3 years ago for around $350.00. It's motorized (of course) and can incline up to 15%. It also folds up so we're able to roll it into the corner instead of having it take up a big corner of the room all the time. I've used it twice a day for the past year and haven't had any problems with the belt. It's been a great investment.

Where does one find a used treadmill? I've looked at Craig's List, but with no luck. Any other ideas?

The one I have is great.
I don't recall the brand name, but it holds three boxes of toys and games the kids have outgrown, a big stack of old magazines I hope to read someday, and there's room for the sewing basket on top. Besides all that, you can easily hang about 10 shirts on the "handlebars" while you are ironing them. Best of all, there's room in the middle to drape your comforter over when its warm enough to sleep without it.
I don't know how I got along without it.
:)

I'm on it right now. DH set up a computer with monitor and keyboard so I can DIS while I walk. I have a bad ankle so can't run on the treadmill but it lets me get some nice exercise. It is a HealthRider.

Sears also has a good selection at a wide price range. Best of all, they are usually in stock!

I have a ProForm also and i love it. When I was looking, I researched and unless you can buy a fitness club quality one (about $5K!), then the best buy you can get for your money is one of the ProForms that runs $500-$1K. I got mine with a few bells and whistles that I really wanted and mine ran me about $650. I also got a maintenance plan on it for 5 years where they coem out once a year to clean and calibrate and it covers mechanical and cosmetic damage. I got mine from Sears, bought it and was delivered within the week.

I got mine from a newspaper ad. The guy ended up being some hot shot on Embassy Row, going back to his country and he couldn't take it with him so he sold it to me for a song. The one I had before that I also bought used from an ad in the newspaper, that was a lady who bought it with the intention of using it and it ended up being a clothes hanger.

I've got a ProForm we bought about 8 months ago. I love it when I use it  .

That's a great idea! I should set up so I can ONLY use the internet when I'm on the treadmill, I'll be doing marathons in no time :rotfl: .

If the belt walks from side to side there is an adjustment on the back side roller to fix this. But is you are looking for good, stay away from the fold up ones, and stick with True or Landice.
