tell me about Vegas???

We have stayed at Luxor, DH and I went in Sept. We love the luxor and I know not to many are fans of it, but they are always having specials and stuff.... I would recomend seeing KA if you are interested in seeing any shows. Both my DH and I loved KA. We also saw Penn and Teller but we love their tv show.

We also had a couple of nice stays at the Luxor.

We stayed at The Paris a couple of years ago. I enjoyed it.
There's a lot to do there without gambling, and your day trip sounds great!:thumbsup2

Just one thing...for some reason stuff in Vegas looks clsoer than it actually is. Often, we would say "Oh let's go to The Venetian. It's right there" when, in actuality, it was probably like 2 miles away....

Yeah...why is that? I walk all over Disney with no trouble...but in LV, my feet were KILLING ME!

For a great, reasonably priced meal...go to Mon Ami Gabi in Paris. YUM!

We saw the X show at the Flamingo...very sexy, my DH is still talking about it.:goodvibes

We have only been twice, stayed at Bellagio and Venetian and WAY preferred the Bellagio.

We enjoyed the white tiger exhibit at Madalay Bay...the name escapes me, but it was so prtty in there!

Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris. I am afraid of heights and I kind of got dizzy up there, though!

We loved Vegas, don't gamble but still loved every minute of it.

Speaking of walking, yes everything is very far. When we were in Vegas the Valet parking at the upscale places was free so all we had to pay was the tip, I think $5 was the standard. So I didn't walk anywhere in my heels, and all I wore was my heels.

Oh boy, you are doing my dream trip. :yay:

Make a list of things you want to do and places you want to see. My list is long. Of course when I go no kids are going.;)

I want to see Barry Manilow and some other reg. running shows.

Thanks for all of your replies! I didn't realize there was a spot for Vegas on these boards. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. We booked today and are going to be staying at Paris. I've never used a TA before, but decided to this time. Thinking we got a pretty good deal as I was not able to find anything better than she did for us. Seems like a good location on the strip and romantic enough... I could've gone with a little more luxury, but also didn't want to bust the budget. Neighbors are going with us, so had that to consider too. Thinking now about scrapping the Grand Canyon idea. Doing Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon, a day at the pool and probably not much gambling, just lots and lots of relaxing.

Just thought you should know in case you want to change your mind but I think the Paris pool is probably the worst one on the strip. I would not stay here if I were planning a pool day.

I suggest going on the websites of some of the hotels on the strip. You can sign up for email correspondence from each of them. They will send you offers and you may get one at a better hotel for a better rate than you currently have. IMO, and I'm a TA, you really don't need a TA to do a Vegas trip. There are deals out there but you need to do a little homework. ;)

Unless you are planning just going to the west rim of GC where the Skywalk is, one day isn't enough IMO to drive. The south rim is 275 miles one way. I did an overnight (stayed at Maswik Lodge inside the park) and still didn't get to do much at the Canyon. All the ranger talks were over by the time we got there, got chekced into the hotel and got oriented to where we needed to be. Then we needed to leave by 1 PM the next day to get back to LV before too late.

Be sure to eat at the Paris breakfast buffet at least once. while you're staying there. Oh, it was so good!!! I could have made a meal off the Nutella, waffles and fresh strawberries. :worship: The crepes looked wonderful, too.
