Tell me about Uber please

I have no idea how this works, or if it is safe. In the past we've used Mears ( good and bad experiences) or rented a car for one day. Thinking of Uber for our day offsite, here at home to get to and from the airport, etc. Are they allowed on Disney property?

Uber & Lyft have no problem at WDW. But in Orlando, they are allowed to drop off but not pick up at the airport. I recommend doing a Google search on Uber and your local airport to see if there are any news articles about restrictions.
