Tell me about the second week of December...

This will be our 3rd trip for the 2nd week in December. The 1st time we went, it was beautiful all week (in the 80's). We went the same week the following year and it was freezing (jeans, sweatshirts and still needed to buy more layers). It really is a crap shoot. I keep an eye on weather.com or accuweather to see what to pack.
Breaks are not needed either because the hours are shorter during that time. We do RD and stay until 5 or 6pm, unless we want to see fireworks and then we obviously stay longer.

We were there that same week several years ago & it was great! The decorations and amazing and all the holiday touches are so much fun! I know the weather can fluctuate, but it was really beautiful (I'm from Illinois, so I totally understand the need to escape Midwestern winter) -- the kids often needed a jacket & tights with their sundresses in the morning and evening, but by late morning, it was sunny and around 80 degrees or so with no humidity. The crowd levels were really low, too. Between the great weather, the low crowds, and the shorter hours, we didn't need afternoon breaks and did everything we wanted to do.

Highly unlikely the weather will be remotely cold. It very well could be, but it'll probably be around mid 70's at night and 80's during the day. Humidity will be down so it won't feel too bad. Usually doesn't get cold until Jan. This past Christmas it was in the 80's.

Although 2 years ago the cold fronts in December were amazing. Around mid December we were playing winter summer land golf at night while it was in the 40's. My fingers are crossed this December will be freezing again, but it'll more than likely be warm

We went December 6-10 in 2014. It was SO cold! We packed according to the weather the week prior (70's) and it sat in the 50's and dropped into the 40's. It was also drizzly the whole time so felt even colder! It was borderline miserable for us. If you decided to go, just make sure to pack some warm clothes just in case! We are going again this December after hearing how nice the weather was last year. We will see. haha (We are Texans and really love some heat.)

Either week would be good for crowds, we have done them both and love that time of year. Weather??? good question, one time we froze and another we roasted. If you are driving bring all types of clothes, if you are flying you can check the weather in advance but you really never know. First year we brought some cold weather gear and made due but froze. Second year we brought a lot of cold weather gear and we were in the pool... But overall an awesome time to go.

Went last year December 12-17 and it was not cold at all, wore shorts or sun dresses almost every day. Crowds were light most days, except in MK in the evening when the MVMCP crowd started rolling in, still relatively short wait times though.
That being said, as other's have mentioned, weather in Florida in the winter is highly variable, best to pack a few layers.
I loved going in December and I would go again in a hearty beat. All the Christmas decorations and activities were wonderful. We stayed at AKL and there were often Christmas concerts, cookie decorating, and the tree made for a great family photo backdrop.
