Tell me about the Sci Fi Dine in Theater

My wife and I always eat at the Sci Fi Diner. We have never had a problem with the food or service there. We make it a point to have lunch there every time we go to WDW which is fairly often (every year since we have been married). The movies are old style B rated type Sci Fi movies. Nothing scary about them and there are hidden mickey's that can be found if you are into the hidden mickey thing.

As stated before it is a burger and shake type place. With that being said it's more about the atmosphere than the food when you go there. I would recommend it if you have never been there. Even if it isn't your favorite you will form your own opinion on it.

We've eat at Sci Fi for both lunch and dinners and its always one of our must do's at HS!

We've eaten there while on the DDP and paying OOP and we feel you do get your money's worth paying OOP. DH and I will usually get a milkshake (they are amazing!), share an appetizer (the onion rings are really good) and then we'll each get an entree (either a burger or chicken sandwich). Comes out to about $20pp.

You should all be in the same car as each row in the car seats 2 adults.

It's a really fun experience!

We love Sci Fi for the ambiance and the food is fine. Not the best food at WDW or the worst, but definitely one of the coolest restaurants! I did enjoy my turkey sandwich last time, it was light and not too expensive.

I like the theme, but the food can be awful. The first time I tried it I sent my sandwich back and ate somewhere else. The second time I had a totally bland burger.

Sci-Fi is one of our favorite restaurants in all of Disney World. Have eaten there at least five times and never had a bad meal so not sure of the comments about that - maybe we were just lucky. And we've also had good service and have been in and out within one cycle of the film clips so I guess we have been lucky with that as well.

The food is OK and I would stick to the burgers and sandwiches but you aren't really there for that. The clips are a great way to pass the time and if your kids have never seen a drive in movie theatre, this is an excellent introduction to them.

Well worth the experience, in my opinion.

We had a nice lunch there last summer. DH and I split an appetizer and a sandwich. I had a chocolate milkshake, and he had a beer. It was a very relaxing meal. The food wasn't anything amazing, but it was good. We plan on going back this summer.

Hello - Just wanted to stop by to say hello. Remember us from last year POFQ??? Glad to see you on the board again. Anjalee has started a July 2013 thread.

:wave2:

Of course I remember! I'm still bummed we never got to meet up!!

We are actually headed back in a few weeks, staying at YC this time!! :cheer2:

Its a nice restaurant. I wouldn't say its the best food at Disney but it was yummy and the set up is very relaxing...which may or may not be a good thing. It was a nice break from the summer heat but hard to leave :-) It made us want to nap.

We have been to Disney 3 times and Sci-Fi is a tradition every time for us. We have always liked the food and we just love the atmosphere! I usually get the Reuben and my husband had a shrimp pasta dish last trip that he really enjoyed. Have fun if you go.

I booked a 12:15pm lunch ADR here for our Hollywood Studios day. How is the food here? Would you consider it a good value for a table service lunch (we won't be on the dining plan)? Also is the atmosphere good for young kids? Is it loud inside? Also since we are a family of six, would we have to be split up in two separate cars? Sorry for the overload of questions, we've only experienced counterservice dining at HS :crazy2: Thanks for any feedback on this :thumbsup2

To agree with most everyone else: the food is OK...nothing to write home about.

The atmosphere is very kid-friendly. I have a 6 y/o son who is scared of everything...and he loved it! And it is very quiet in there; we were whispering so we didn't disturb anyone else.

WOW!! - have a great time :cool1:. We'll be going back the same time as always. July 13th through the 22nd. Another visit to CBR, Midori's friend Lucy and her mother will be joining us this year. This will be Super fun for Midori. Maybe we'll see one another in the future.

Thanks

For all you adult drink lovers, may I recommend the Space Monkey milkshake. Totally delish!

Went with my friend during our trip last June, had a wonderful time, wonderful service and yummy food. Stopped in about an hour before our ADR to see if we could get in early and we were seated within 10 minutes (AND this was during Star Wars Weekend). We very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I fought tooth and nail to go back for our may trip but the rest of the party voted on 50s Prime Time...but I think I might make a special trip anyway :thumbsup2

We try to do SciFi every trip if we can, however if we can't, it's not a big deal. We do love the atmosphere at SciFi but for us the food is just the same as what you can get at many other Disney restaurants.
