This is a new ride since I've been to Animal Kingdom. Tell what you like about the ride - tell me what it's like. (Does it remind you of another Disney ride?)
Thanks for any input.

Chester and Hester's "Din-o-rama" was designed by Disney to be in the style of those tacky road-side amusement parks that once littered the country... and they've succeded in spades. Personally "retro-tacky" doesn't do much for me. I rode Whirl once in January just so I could say I've done it. If the urge to ride ever hits me again, I'll drive a short distance to Michigan's Adventure park and ride the "Wild Mouse" for less money.

Reminds me of the permanent carnivals at the beach when I was a kid. Not up to Disney's usual standards IMHO.

I like it. It's pretty cute, very fun, and thrilling enough for me. I'm not into the big coasters like Rockin Roller Coaster or such so I was happy that Disney made something a little tammer. It's a little hokey looking, but in a funny way, kind of like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at MK was but more thrilling. The spinning cars also add a lot to the fun or the ride. I'd give it a try. If the line is too long, get a FastPass and come back to it.

It's alright...pretty tame unless you don't like getting spinned around alot.

That whole dinoland is pretty lame, IMHO, of course.

I couldn't believe the height requirement! Our DD 6 was 47 inches and she rode space mountain and splash mountain and Test track and ToT and couldn't ride this??? Doesn't make sense to us!

I enjoy Primeval Whirl. I laugh the whole time on it. Depending on how many people and weight in your car (a time machine type vehicle) you will spin more or less. With 4 adults we spun non-stop the second half of the ride, where the spinning starts. With less people we didn't spin as much (which was fine by me).

There is a big climb at the beginning and there are some sharp turns and a few small drops.

The whole ride has dinosaurs and other time machine type things like clocks ticking. I like the themeing of it, as well as the rest of Dinorama (the carnival area in Dinoland). It is supposed to be a tacky sideshow carnival that Chester and Hester built, and I think Disney did a good and fun job with it.

but too short, in my opinion. It's definitely NOT worth a long wait, but if you can jump on before the crowds, it's worth trying once. My kids really enjoyed it, but I was not impressed.

I liked it and will do it again, but one warning, I ended up with one serious bruise on the leg that was closest to the outside of the car. I felt myself slam against the car, but I was still surprised at how ugly the bruise was.
Having said that, I still plan on trying it again on my next trip.

I have more Primeval Whirl pix HERE.

My family rode this one and all have sworn "never again!" I guess we're just odd, after reading the above posts, but we didn't like it. I was on the outside and I was hanging over the edge of the track which freaked me out - I couldn't enjoy the ride for the "what if something breaks..." going through my head! It was scarier than all the others, and we rode everything but RNR. I did think the theme was cute and it was eye-catching. Just wanted to offer a new perspective to the post....I know I'm out-numbered!!! Give it a try !

I agree - I wish it was longer and the 48" height requirement is just wrong. But it was fun my wife and I both thought it was tame but cute. (Looks worse than it really is type of deal.) I think its one of those at the Ocean / Carnival rides you would need to ride again and again to have a lot of fun.

Lift the 48" requirment Disney make it 40" like Thunder Railroad. (How is this ride more difficult the Thunder railroad??)

...this ride (but then, again, I like warts and dandruff...nahhh, just kiddin'!) but alot of people feel like it spins too much. I think that the more "weighty" the car is, the more it'll spin. Also, some feel like it's too "campy" or "lame", but I think that's the whole point to it. BTW - *********** I loved your photos!!!

Should this ride be avoided if you are prone to motion sickness? - I can't do teacups, Body Wars or Star Tours but can do pretty much everything else.
