Okay, I am scared of rollar coasters. Someone on another thread recomended this one since it doesn't have a big drop. I don't like the drops! I want to get over my feat. Please tell me about this ride. I saw the video of it on Universal's site but it leaves a lot to the imagination. Tell me all. Is it too scarey for kids 8 and 9 who are easily scared? The special effects do look pretty cool! :cool1: :cool1:

There are several threads about the Mummy. One is on this page. If it doesn't answer all your questions, let us know and we can go into more detail.

it leaves a lot to the imagination for a reason, it's billed as a psychological thrill ride. you won't pee your pants on this one either. there's one 'big' drop, and it's not high. ROTM uses steep angles and tight helixes to make you think you're traveling faster and dropping farther than you really are. yes, there are roller coaster parts of the ride, but not like you're thinking. please don't look for spoilers on this one. trust me. it's an incredible ride, and the effects are phenomenal. as for the kids, I've seen all levels of reactions. we took a 7 year old girl on it a couple of weeks ago, and the queue intimidated her, but after the ride, we went 4 more times in a row. :D

The Mummy:

It is dark in most of the ride. There is only like one part where you go really fast. As far as the kids, some of the stuff is unexpected. You do go backwards for a short period of time. My daughters are 13 and 11, and some of the stuff made them jump a little. The queue line was like 60 minutes when we went in June, so we rode single rider to get on faster.

This is a great ride, we liked it better than Spiderman. It is a coaster type ride, but not really, it relies more on the effects which are terrific. My kids 11, 7 rode it no problem, hubby who gets motion sickness easy had no problem at all. If you can ride space mountain ,Big thunder railroad, even splash mountain, then you can ride this easily. Make it one of the first ones to get to in the morning, as lines will build because this is a major attraction.
