Ok so I am a complete novice when it comes to this and honestly I just can't get my head around it.

I've been looking at the prices for Saratoga Spring with Complete Orlando and they are offering 14 nights at SSR with 14 day ultimate tickets and DDP for £2352.

Am I looking at this right? So I get a lunch, a snack and a table service meal plus the refillable mug for nothing?

Can somebody help me out here as I am just lost!

Thanks in advance! :upsidedow

the refillable mug is only with the deluxx or counter service, not the regular ddp.
apart from that, yes you have it right.
the ddp is excellent, we hardly spent any money except for $20-30 for tips each meal. you will need to pay for extras, starters or alcohol, so TS meals are a TDH ie starter main and dessert, they do this at lecellier, chefs de france and now at kona.
it doesnt sound like a lot of food, but it is, depending on what you spend you snack on, not just drinks popcorn etc, you can have funnel cakes, cakes, cakes and more cakes:rotfl:, ok sorry, you can have sundaes, ice creams jacket potatoes fruit yogurt sweets...loads of stuff.
we had about 30 left over after 2 weeks, and we brought dinner for the people behind us in the line at AK to use up the CS we had left over.
the only bad thing is the kids meals are very ltd, but eating at buffets makes it more balanced.
be aware some signature restaurants, cali grill, crt etc take 2 ts credits.

Just be aware that there is current speculation based on information provided by the UK agents selling Disney packages that the dining plan for 2011 is facing some "amendments" which means the refillable mug will no longer be included with the QSDP and there will be no dessert with the CS meals.

At SSR you get the regular DDP so the mug isn't an issue, although I find on a 14 day trip it pays itself off multiple times over by purchasing it - we use it to the max!

We usually get the tables in wonderland card but next trip we have decided to for the standard dp, it will costs approx $100 a day + tips for 2 adults and 2 kids 2 + 4, it's more food than we will prob eat but better having too much than too little!

Are your kiddies 2 and 4 years old? You don't pay for the 2 year old though, do you? Or are you buying the little one a park ticket to get the DDP for him/her for the extra food?

A tip for those with kids on the dining plan, if they are big eaters. What we did with the CS credits, was to purchase two meals at a time, i.e. adult meals, we split these and then if we were still hungrey, we went back and got another one. There is no way to show how many adult and kids CS meals there are. Also some places like Harry Ramsdens don't have kids meals, so you just get adult meals instead.

This time is won't matter to us, as once the kids are over 9, they are on the adult plan anyway.

I also think that some of the kids meals at TS places are pretty poor in quality, for this reason we ate mainly at buffets, so my DS could choose what to eat for himself. He ate more at these than at normal resturants.

This year he wants all the CS for his burger fest and we are eating as some 2 credit places with his credits.

We did it for the first time last December and have booked again for this October.

What tempted us onsite was factoring in cost of hotel, our usual food budget and parking was pretty much what disney wanted for 14 nights with free DDP.

You get 1 TS credit, I CS credit and 1 snack for night of your stay to be used how you wish over the stay.

Best 'value' for your credit is to do a CS lunch and TS tea.

DD was 3 at the time so we also did some TS breakfast and CS tea.

It was more than enough food. We bought a couple of meals offsite on days out but could have done it just on DDP.

Your only extra expense is tips for TS.

We also shared CS with DD 3 and used her CS to get her breakfast or a meal when she was hungry - she eats little and often.

Kids meals at TS were fine for my DD - there is variety if you look at menus eg at coral reef they can have fish, at le cellier steak.

The beauty for us is we can take DD to as many character meals whilst she is little. Offsite we would have paid for one or two at most.

sorry to hijack the thread but we have got deluxe ddp for feb , will we get starter, main, desert on all our meals?

Hi, im not 100% sure at the moment.
Loads of UK travel agents brochures stated that there were no desserts with any meals on the Dining plans (quick service, basic, deluxe) Although recently someone had the UK Disney brochure- this stated Desserts were still included with the table service meals but not with any quick service meals.
The dining plan is usually oficially released in August, so im sure youll find out for sure then :goodvibes

So I get a lunch, a snack and a table service meal plus the refillable mug for nothing?

you get
1 quick service meal (so can be breakfast lunch or dinner)
1 table service meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
1 snack

Its fab isnt it :thumbsup2

Under 3's are free, not sure how it works for table meals-guess you just share your food but at buffets i know theyre allowed anything.
you can split meals between you-some dont let you. Although by the time you count in the days you are offsite eg seaworld, universal etc you have enough credits to have more than 2 meals a day. :goodvibes
