Do you love it? Hate it? How much is it? We have the Savvy Soho right now for our son and love it. The only thing I don't like thing I don't like about it is the small wheels which have a hard time going over sidewalk bumps. Is the Twin Savvy easy to maneuver and relatively small? Does it fold easily with one hand? Did it work well for your newborn, or did you have to wait to use it? I have no place around me (that I know of) to go and check it out, so I'll need to start with some of your opinions. How is it for shopping with? This is my biggest hang up with purchasing a double stroller... I couldn't even get my son's single stroller through the aisles and racks when going to the mall or even crowded places, and I hated it- which is why we ended up purchasing the Savvy Soho. Would you recommend a side by side or a front/back? LOL, I know it's a lot of questions, sorry! I have no experience here... I just feel like a front/back is unfair to the child in the back with a canpoy obstructing their view, plus it seems even more cumbersome than a side by side.

ETA- My son will be 2.5 when the new baby is born, so any recommendations for any great double stroller for the age differences that will last as they get older would be great. I know about the Sit n Stand and I don't anticipate him using it all that much past three or so (excpet in WDW) but you never know when he's gonna need a real break or a nap... We don't have a very loose budget either. Thanks!

I'm wondering if everyone is sick of answering the double stroller questions (which I never read when they popped up and would rather not face screening the bazillions of posts that would pop up if I did a search- I just decided to start my official search today) or if nobody owns the Twin Savvy, and I should take that as a sign...

I don't have that stroller, but I can tell you that I had one that had 3 sets of wheels across the back, like that stroller does. It was okay (not great, but okay) for me. I'm 5'2", and my foot hardly ever bumped the middle set of wheels. DH, on the other hand, couldn't stand it. He's 6'2", and he was always getting his feet tangled up in the tires. One time he got so twisted up that the stroller tipped, and our kids came really close to hitting the pavement. He sprained his ankle, too. He ordered the Peg Perego Twin Aria for me the next day. It's the only one that I know of with only 2 sets of wheels across the back. I love it. It folds small, it's lightweight, and it's easy to use. It doesn't recline all the way flat. I think it's recommended that babies be 3 months before you use it. I think that the tandem ones can usually be used with newborns, but I just don't like those. When my baby was a newborn, I carried him in a sling and put my toddler in a single stroller.

I have one that I grabbed at a consignment store for $30. Haven't used it yet.

They retail for $300 new. They are definitely not a one-hand fold. Two hands to get it flat, and then two hands to fold it in thirds. It is lightweight and compact when folded, which is nice, and has a carry strap.

For reviews on many strollers (and a message board where posters know a lot about different strollers), check out www.windsorpeak.com.

Thanks for the info, it gave me some more to think about. Thanks also for the link, I'm about to check it out.

Hi Ryan840, I have the Combi Twinn Savy and it is awesome!! I have a 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 yr old. It only weighs 21 lbs and folds easily and has a strap like golf clubs do. Easy to carry!! We are going to WDW late October and I will be bringing this stroller. I also have the Graco Duoglider but that thing is a beast...45 lbs and is too heavy to be lugging on and off the shuttles. let me know if you need anything else!! Vanessa

i was trying to decide the same thing!! I was able to check both out at babies r us & decided on the mcclearn twin rally....i got it on ebay for around $200 new (box was damaged but it was never put together). i haven't used it yet but will in december when we go!
good luck.

How do you like the duoglider for everyday use? We are really stumped trying to decide between a side by side or a tandem! We looked at the duo glider today and liked it a lot, but I just don't know about a tandem stroller in general- as you said, they are beasts... Then again you can't get around much better with a side by side, doorways being my main concern. Thanks for the help!

I've never had a tandem (they won't even fit in my trunk, so it's not an option), but side-by-sides are surprisingly easy to use. They're no wider than a wheelchair, so you can go anywhere that's ADA compliant. The only door I've not been able to fit through is at my doctor's office, which is in an old converted house. And I do have a hard time shopping for clothes in some stores. I can get through the main aisles, but some places keep the racks too close together. That's the exception, though.

After you get used to opening doors and pushing your stroller through, it's really easy. I did get a Kolcraft cheapo side by side first to see if I liked double strollers, and that was more difficult. It's a heavy stroller, and it was hard to push with one hand while I held the other door open. But any good side by side will go through doors pretty easily. And when people see you coming, they're generally pretty nice and hold the door open for you. :)

I'm also in the market for a double. I've ruled out tandems due to their larger size and heavy weight and they don't fit in my car.

I've compared the Maclaren, Combi, and Peg side by sides

The Combi had some nice features but it felt very cheap, plastic, rickety for the high price. I could hold the handle and sway the body side to side while all the wheels stayed on the ground.

The Maclaren I did not like the wide set umbrella handles. I need to steer one handed and that's harder to do w/ the extra wide set umbrella handles. BUt otherwise nice.

I preferred the Peg Aria. It's the lightest of the 3 at 17.8 pounds I think. The shades are a bit short, 1 wide bar for the handle. I put my DS and niece in (75#total) and went down the aisle of the small boutique shop and turned around in the middle of the aisle and came back..no way to do that w/ a tandem. I was very impressed w/ the ease of driving. It folds flat (book style I think they call it) and is easily carried by the handle. The opening and closing was weird at first but once the guy showed me and I tried it 2X I got it. I liked it. I've been checking out the mall play areas and talking to moms I see w/ doubles. It's been great to learn about what they like and don't about their strollers. I've seen a lot of the Peg Arias lately. @ of the moms had car seats hooked in even though they don't 'officially' claim to accomodate that it but I've heard many women on sites say it does just fine.

The new model combi coming out soon will officially hold a car seat..it's the only SBS that will I think (besides some of the $500-700 modesl).

The perfect stroller does not exist I've discovered!

The savvy is short. My Dh didnt like pushing it for very long. It doesn't recline fully, so I wouldn't use it for a newborn. It has bad storage too. I wouldn't use it.

We sell strollers in our retail store and imo while all three are very nice strollers (and they really are!), Maclaren stroller is the easiest to fold, and it's very sturdy. Maclarens have some nice, well thought out features, too - like extendable handles for tall people, 1 touch folding, included rain cover, nice sized hood, too - and it's removable.

I used a combi Savvy Z with our 3rd child (bonus child. LOL)- it was very light, great for on/off of transportation at WDW and fit in an airplane aisle.

Perego - had this w/ our first 2 kids - Boy that stroller lasted through 2 kids, hard use and still looked great! Plus it was a fashioable plaid. LOL

Honestly, they are all very nice strollers - right now, if I were buying one, my personal preference would be a Maclaren.

The Maclaren fits through doorways (side by side) It's sized for that. Oh - I also had a Graco twin stroller w/ the first 2 kids - and I have to say, I used it briefly but hated it - it weighed a TON - and took up tons of room in my car - I wouldn't use that for Disney personaly b/c of all the times you have to lug it around. The Twin Traveller from Maclaren is like 32 lbs vs 45+ for Graco - I'd def. go w/ lighter. also it folds much smaller.

when they first hit the market about 5 years ago there was a problem with cracking at the point where the two seats joined. Combi would fix them for free, but it was a hassle to have to pack it up and ship it to the manufacturer. combi claimed to address the problem, but people continued to have a problem with cracking. I don't know if the problem eventrually got resolved, I just remember many complaints on the multiple board where I used to post 3.5 - 5 years back.

The macclaren twins are a bit heavier, but built wonderfully. I bought mine for $400, BUT, I sold it 3.5 years later for $200, so keep that in mind.

Thanks for asking this question! We are not even expecting (yet!) and I have been thinking of double strollers. I was looking at the combi and the Maclaren. We have a Quest so I was leaning toward the Maclaren, now I'm sure that is what I will buy. My dh will probably think I'm crazy :Pinkbounc if I buy it before we are expecting, but it was great to read all these opinions and decide what I want.

Thanks for all the great tips everyone! We have ruled our the Twin Savvy, and are probably going to go with a tandem, the Duoglider... We tried it out and really liked many of it's features- especially that we can put the baby seat in the front and our son can sit in back and keep him/her entertained, or just be more involved in being a big brother (yes, we're dreamers...). We still have a while to make a final decision and we will be testing all of our options, so keep the info coming. Thanks again!

If you are going for the tandem, you might want to check out the sit and stand LXIII plus. It's a tandem that has the option of putting a car seat in front, and the back seat can pop off so that it's a jump seat. So that might be helpful for an active 2.5 year old. We had one until my husband put ours behind my car and I backed into it. We loved it though. I really wish we still had ours cause I know that as my eldest gets older we would likely get the most use out of it. We also have a side by side, Zooper Tango which is great. Fully reclining, Comes with UV screen, snow boot. I got last years model from albee baby and it was half off. It is a very sturdy stroller and great quality if you start to reconsider the side by side. You can still get it for 149.99 through albee baby.
