I just found out about this and I'm sooo excited! What type of stuff do they have? A little bit of everything? Clothing, toys, souvies, etc... Thanks!

It is connected to the "Pooh" store in DTD. I thought it was chaotic, cramped and messy. It had all the trinkets that we saw everywhere that were under $10.00.

It is called Mickey's Mart. They have mostly stuff you will find around the parks that is priced under $10 (Pens, Pencils, small toys, bean bag animals, cups, etc). Sometimes they do have some close-out stuff like 5 items for $10 and they also have mystery grab bags. On my trip last fall I was able to get a couple cute ornaments and a plastic Mickey Mouse head serving tray with the 5 for ten deal. The store is very small and is long and skinny.

Thanks everyone. I guess it's not exactly what I thought it was (a clearance spot) but it will still be fun to check out!

ETA- Glad I found out before the trip so I wasn't disappointed! Now I can go in and just enjoy it for what it is.

My dd, 12, loves to get a grab bag there every trip. she has gotten some cute things in the past....stuff we would never have bought individually. She has always been pretty happy with her bag.

It's in the spot where they used to sell the Disney topiary and also the miniature plants. Some of the things are at discounted prices, others are exactly the same price as you would get on property. It's fun to go and look around and see what's there though!

So glad to know that there is a place that has some neat stuff. I'm sure that my boys would love to check this place out. Thanks for the info!

When I was there in Dec. 2004, they were doing a deal of the week or day, don't remember if it was week or day. It was 2 Mickey mugs for $10, which was a good deal since the price on one alone was $12. Not sure if they are still doing the deal of the week/day.

Thanks for the tip.. I wasnt aware of this store.. Will definitely check it out while there.. You never know.. There may be something I just have to have..

We leave for WDW on Thursday and I'm really looking forward to checking that store out, as my son's girlfriend's Mom and Dad were there and loved it. :sunny:

I'm so glad you posted this! I just read about it today on allears in the Downtown section. Now I have a better idea before I go there. Thank you! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

DS loves the grab bags, too! He's always pretty happy w/what he finds inside!

They also run specials ... for example, in Jan, they had buy 4 items w/a green X on them for $10. They had a lot of the Halloween beanies, packs of glitter nail polish and other things. Not bad if you can find 4 things that you want!

Youse Guys Moichandize at MGM, in the NY Street section, also has stuff that's $10 or less. A good place to tell the kids they can pick whatever they want!

We weren't overly impressed with it. There were far too many people in it at one time. We couldn't stop to look at something because it seemed like a continuous mob of people. Some of the items looked nice but I think it could be found elsewhere. It is a nice thought and might make some kids happy because their parents will now buy them something.

There is nothing in Mickey's Mart that you cannot get at World Of Disney or the other shops at DTD and in most of the parks. In the summer, it very hot in the shop since it is outside. They do have fans, but they don't help much. I feel so bad for the CMs that work there.

Just a note, Pooh Corner is no longer there. It is now called World Of Kids. It is a temporary name for the store. It currently has kids clothes and some plush, etc. It is being used to house merchandise from World Of Disney until the remodeling of World Of Disney is over. After which, I suspect it will become the next Tinkerbell store.

While you're right about the store being small and sometimes cramped, what better place to set the kids free and tell them they can pick anything they want? They get a kick out of getting to chose ANYTHING in the whole store instead of constantly hearing, "No, too much." At least you know they aren't going to break the bank. They do have clearance items as well. I remember racks of things selling 3 or 4 for $10. Items ranged from pens to hats to small playground balls mix and match. I think it's a great place to shop IMHO.

What are the hours for Mickey Mart ?

Maybe they are less busy and crowded on a weekday morning.

Or does the store always look like the mad rush of the day after Christmas when everything is 1/2 price off :rotfl:

Just wanted to add that they do sometimes have close-outs or clearance items you can't get elsewhere. When we were there this past Nov/Dec they had 2004 merchandise like the 2004 photo album for at least 50% off and I think a 2004 ornament. It was the exact photo album I have at home that I paid alot more for!

I also bought a Philarmagic coffee mug (the tall, plastic kind with a cover) for $6. Not sure what the price would be at WDW or even if it was still available anymore but that seemed pretty cheap to me.

So IMHO it's worth checking out and you can 'sometimes' find good deals.
