I love the Japanese hibachi restaurants here at home, so I'm thinking I'd like Teppanyaki. What has your experience been? What is good there? Give me the scoop, please!

It is absolutely delish!! We went for lunch last Feb. and loved it. We have decided to go back on our next trip. We felt we got our money's worth and weren't stuffed to the point of throwing up, if you know what I mean.

A+++ in my book!

Hello...you will probbly like it if you like Japanese steak houses. They don't have fried rice...I believe they steam it. Other than that it's like the other Japanese steak houses I've tried. I hope this helps :earsboy:

Teppanyaki is the one restaurant I will not miss. As long as I have at last one meal there per trip I am happy. Some trips it's more than once.

I tried it for the first time with the CP dining package. It was cool! We don't have these restaurants in my town (although there are some in Boston), so it was a real treat for our family. My DS15 is ultra-picky, and even he says it was one of his favorite restaurants.

Try the plum wine, and ginger ice cream, too! And don't be shy trying the chopsticks, or eating the edamame with your fingers (is there any other way?). DO try the edamame! I didn't think I'd like it, and once I tried it, I was hooked.

we were there in nov and teppanyaki was our favorite restaurant. the food was delish! :wizard:

We just ate at Teppanyaki last week and the food was very good. I think what makes the place special is the interaction between the chef and the people dining with you. Especially if there are children, the chef will do little tricks with the food as well as cook it to your specifications. I always have the chicken, my husband the chicken and steak, sometimes he has fish and always it is cooked to perfection just the way he ordered it. The service is good, the food is cooked right in front of you....it is really a great take in for the money..

They do not take the Disney Dining experience card though.. just an fyi.

It's not awful, but it's not one of my favorites at WDW. If you've been to a lot of the other hibachi places, you might be a little disappointed. The food is very average, and they don't put on that much of a show. Usually, anything attached to Disney is done a step above the competition. I guess my problem with this place is that it isn't a step above anything.

But, yes, it is on the dining plan, and it is considered a table service meal.

Cheers!

We enjoyed it, but I don't think we'll go back. It seemed just like the Shogun restaurant that we have about an hour away.

I agree with Super 27. The hibachi places around here have better food and put on more of a show.

Great place! DH is a tabletop fanatic and he swears by this place. We went in Nov2002 with friends and my BF is so picky, she said she would go there with the 3 of us because we like it but she would not eat....well she was eating of her DH plate so much that he made her order her own!! You will love it.
