I have to confess that before I join this board I NEVER considered this! I see a lot of people talking about it, but I still have a few questions, like:

Can you book both rooms on one reservation or do you have to have two separate reservations and reservation numbers?

What about MYW packages and passes. Do you have to buy passes for both room stays? for example for our 6 night stay in Sept, we got a 6 day MYW ticket, but if you do 3 nights at one resort and 3 nights at an other do you have to buy 2 different 3 day MYW passes (anybody still following me?)

What about DDP? again using my example, would you have 6 night of DDP or 2 different 3 night DDP packages?

Room keys? one key for both resorts or one for each resort

Sorry for all the questions, but I can see why people have so much trouble in deciding where to stay, choosing one resort is hard enough, but two, yikes! It's a lot to think about!

Thanks!

For a room only, or a package, I believe it has to be two seperate reservations. The transition from resort to resort is pretty easy. You check out of hotel 1 and they will transfer the luggage to hotel 2. When you get to hotel 2, they will give you new keys at check in and your lugagge will be waiting (if you check in later in the day). Its like 2 trips in one. :)

Yup it really isn't bad if you don't mind being without a room for a few hours. The resort you are moving from will transfer your luggage to the new resort. You have to have 2 reservations. But if you still have tickets/dining on your tickets they can put that all on one key card at the new hotel. Not hard at all.

Well, to do a split stay you need 2 separate reservations. If you want the ddp, you need to book a MYW package. If you want the ddp for the entirity of your stay, it will cause your park tickets to be more expensive, so do the math and see if it is worth it.

Or you could do a package at one, and room only at the other, and just purchase all park tix in the first reservation package and skip the ddp for the second part of your stay.

If you are going to do a split stay for 3 days at resort A and 3 days at resort B, it could be easier to pack a bag for each resort, thereby making packing/unpacking more efficient. Disney will move your luggage for you and make it a breeze.

You are kind of "homeless" for the day of your move. We like to check in early and if a room is not ready, they give you a card w/# to call and find out your room assignment. You could also leave any items (like bags w/pool stuff) w/bell services that you may need before you have a room.

:thanks: for the quick responses, y'all confirmed the suspisions I had about having 2 reservations. I don't think we're going to change anything for this trip, I had to work hard to get DH to go with a mod over a value, but it's something I will keep in mind next time :thumbsup2

We have a ton of stuff, not just suitcases, i have bags of stuff such as pillows, fans, etc......would it be better to just pack the car up and move it ourselves. I just cant picture them trying to move our stuff from place to place.
