NEVER been to Sea World before!
After our
Disney cruise in Nov.2011...we thought about Sea World for the remaining 3days. Is the Marriott at Sea World the best choice? Should I purchase a package deal (hotel and length of stay passes)? What is the temp at the water park like? Too cold (nov.23-26)? Dining? Should I buy the dining arm band thing or just pay as we go?
Thanks!
If you go to Seaworld the 24th, which is the day after thanksgiving 2011, you will get to see Seaworlds Christmas celebration. This includes Christmas themed night time shows which are different from the day time shows. It features a ton of Christmas decor and a ride "Polar Express Experience" which is a motion simulator set to scenes from the popular movie. The night ends with a holiday fireworks show. Everything in this Christmas celebration, rides, shows, and decor is included with park admission. Seaworlds Christmas celebration starts the day after Thanksgiving and runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only until Mid December when it becomes nightly until New Years.
The weekend after Thanksgiving tends to be busier. So if your planning to spend all day there (The park closes on those days after thanksgiving at 11:00pm) it could be a long day and I think the dining deal is worth it. As far as weather, there is a slight chance that it may be cold, but nothing major. We didnt start getting very cold weather here until The first week or two of December this year. Expect high temps between 70-85 degrees. With lows in the upper 50s and low 60s. Rain is also rare this time of year.
Since Im local, I have never stayed at a resort in the area. Perhaps someone who has can give you more info on that. Seaworld is definitely worth a visit. You could spend two days at the park and maybe one at the Water park Aquatica. Or maybe a day at Seaworld, a day at Aquatica and a day at Discovery Cove. You wont be disappointed especially with the Christmas celebration.
Seaworlds Christmas celebration of 2010 is still going on right now, so the website has some info on some highlights of this years celebration. I would expect the same and maybe even more for Christmas season 2011. Here is some info on the Christmas themed shows, rides and attractions....

*Show times for November 2011, will be posted the last week of October 2011 on Seaworlds website. There will be a new Shamu day show next year starting spring 2011. Not sure if there will be a new Christmas themed Shamu show too or if the Christmas themed show will stay as is now.
