Tell me about San Angel LUNCH!

My sister ate there for lunch yesterday. They did not have an ADR and my 13 year old niece wanted to go there for lunch so they gave it a try. Went and put their names down, rode the boat ride and then they were seated with no trouble. She said it was fabulous and my sister and niece are picky, best meal so far of the trip and they have already in 24 hours gone to Le Cellar, Italy, and Kona. Give it a try:thumbsup2

Absolutely go for it. We'll be having lunch there on our upcoming trip in July per my Dad's request. DH and I ate there seven years ago on our honeymoon and honestly it was fine.

I am no mexican food connoisseur, so perhaps I don't have anything to compare it to, but, hey that's okay!

We're mainly going for the ambience of the restaurant and I'll be looking forward to a nice margarita with my lunch!

The last time I ate there was a number of years ago- around 4- and although I don't remember the food as being anything absolutely amazing, I also don't remember it as anything awful either. I think it was just generic decent Mexican.

The thing I love about the place is the ambiance. I love the volcano, and the boat riders going by, and the "stars" in the ceiling- it's all very magical to me. Mom and I are totally planning on eating there when we go this summer just for the atmosphere. Ok, and the margaritas.

I say go for it... if you go in with the right attitude ("this is not going to be the best meal of my life and I'm in a crowded theme park") then you can have fun with it. No restaurant on here seems to ever get all high marks. Do what makes you happy and don't stress about it!

I agree! It is really cool on the inside. It kinda reminds me of the place that is located inside of the Pirates of the Carribean ride over at Disneyland. With the fire flies and everything. I have never eaten there, but have always wanted to. Where else can you have a marine husband who can dress up like this and act like a fool??? And he was sober. LOL
