So many positive reviews of Raglan Road keep popping up! I looked at the menu on All Ears, and frankly, it didn't seem very appealling....however, I am willing to take a second look/ reserve opinion until I hear some reviews...so many people seem to love it here.

I am thinking of dropping Sci Fi Diner on my DHS day, because right now I have 50's Prime time for dinner, and was thinkin Sci Fi for lunch....I have a feeling that would leave us too full though and we might be better off just doing a QS lunch with 50's for dinner......My BFF is a first timer, and I think she'd find 50's PT a hoot. That would open another TS restaurant for my DTD/ Discovery Cove day.....thus the thought of Raglan Road :goodvibes

Discovery Cove covers our Breakfast and Lunch, so we are having a taxi drop us off at DTD for the evening.....

Is Raglan Road a good pick for an evening TS meal??? If you've been what do you love about it? it's one TS credit on the DDP, right???

Thanks for your thoughts!

We were not impressed with RR the first time we went a few years ago. This past October we got snowed into Disney for a few extra days (how unfortunate, right?). Well, anyway, after the craziness of having to change around our flights and getting a room for the few extra nights, I was able to make an ADR for RR that night (gotta love smartphones). We were actually pretty impressed with it. The food tasted a lot fresher than it was on our previous trip. She had the Pie in the Sky and I had the Burger 'R' Way. Both entrees were pretty good. We also each had beer flights and shared the Bread and Butter pudding, which is my second favorite dessert on property.

My only issue with the restaurant is that the accoustics inside are awful. I was able to hear conversations at other tables better than I was able to hear my fiancee sitting accross from me. The music that was going on, while it was pretty good, made having a conversation impossible. We sat in a different area of the restaurant both times (the first time being right next to the dancing platform, the second time by the bar near the entrance) and both times I left saying how awful the accoustics were.

Yes, it is 1 TS credit.

We LOVE Raglan Road. Our favorites there are the mussels (an appetizer, I believe) and the pate. Soooo good!

Hi chimo2u (must be an engineer with a username like that :thumbsup2) - anyway, we'll be heading to Raglan Road this year for a 2nd time. We love the food at RR - the scallops forest for 2 appetizer is fantastic and the mussels are a great dinner. May be too much seafood but I can never get enough of it. Don't think you can go wrong. My whole family loves it.

Raglan Road is my top choice restaurant at Disney. I refuse to go to Disney and NOT eat there! So much so that I am paying for 4 people in June just so I don't have to skip it (it's a budget trip for the others). It is amazing and a must do!

Hi I Run Long! :) Yes, my hubby was an engineer for 22 yrs! :) I see you live in beautiful Victoria! I am a BC gal, sent to AB when the military shut down Chilliwack in 1996 :( such is life! My hubby's parents are in Victoria, we'd love to move to Comox upon retirement ....unfortunately/ (or rather fortunately that we are employed, LOL).....our new careers (AB govt. employees now) will keep us here for another 20 yrs or so!!!

BC is in our hearts and we can't wait to go home one day.

Thanks for your advice on Raglan Road! I am still thinking on it, and would love to hear more thoughts :)

Take Care

Chimo....

OMG! My hubby was an engineer for 27 years until they shut down Chilliwack. He took his retirement (Mr. Mom now) and I took a transfer with DND (civilian) to Esquimalt. It was either that or Gagetown and since I hate winter I chose Victoria. But I am a BC girl born and raised too.

Anyway, trust me - you'll love Raglan Road especially if you are planning a DTD day.

I think your new plan is the better plan.
We love Raglan Road. We go each trip.
It is a beautiful restaurant that was constructed in Ireland, taken apart and shipped to Orlando, and reassembled.
The servers are warm and friendly and the food is wonderful.
In addition Mon- Sat has a live band and Irish Step Dancers.
It is great and we recommend it

I ate here for the first time on Friday night and will definitely be back. The atmosphere, food, service, and entertainment were all top notch.

Luckily, we had reservations for 8pm. As they were telling walkups it would be an hour and a half for a table. They gave us our pager and we figured it would be a little while but as soon as we walked away from the podium it went off and we were seated immediately.

I haven't tried Raglan Road yet, but am very excited about going on my next trip! On a side note, you will absolutely love Discovery Cove. As much as I love Disney, I think Discovery Cove is simply amazing.

The good thing about Raglan Road is that it has a great range of food for everyone. I loved the Scallop Forest. You can get beer flights, and most impressively you can pick your own favourites to put in the flight. I got a couple of Orlando beers (REALLY good), a Magners (who doesn't love Magners?) and Guinness. I really liked it there, a lot of fun. Not too formal but good food for the price (compared to other Disney World restaurants).

Bread and Butter Pudding.

I seriously dream about it. I'd be 20 pounds heavier if I lived in Orlando. And it would totally be worth it.

My fiance and I absolutely love Raglan Road. In face we are having dinner there the night before our wedding in October!

My DH and I ADORE RR. It is SO GOOD. (So good that I want to type this in all caps to emphasize my point!:lmao:). DH had the Mixed grill, I had "It's not bleedin' chowder". They were both heavenly. But the best thing was THE BREAD PUDDING. Let me tell you, I didn't like bread pudding before RR...after RR I'm an addict.

Okay I've got to quit talking about this restaurant before I book a trip for tomorrow. :rotfl2:

Reading these reviews makes me really excited! :) We are eating at RR for the first time on our arrival day Sunday!

We have ADR here too, but I'm a little nervous about the menu. I'm kind of a picky eater, what is a good entree to order for dinner - that's popular among lots? Is there shrimp or chicken?

We really liked RR, however we went as a party of 13 and while my family of five were happy, there were many in our party that weren't!

Also, if anyone has allergies I say to stay far away from this place. My nephews had noted peanut allergies and BOTH had reactions from it. Then the chef tried telling us that it wasn't from there!

Do you like Ham? Or should I say pork chop that tastes like ham? Kevin's Heavenly Ham is great. The sirloin steak with mashed taters is pretty Non picky persony!:)
