What do you like/ don't like about this hotel?
How's the rooms and the hotel in general?
Show some pics!!!
Thanks :thumbsup2

I don't have any pics for you but I love this Resort! It is very relaxing. we had no problems with hearing other guests in their rooms. It was nice to bike around the resort. Plus the boat ride to Downtown Disney is nice as well.

One of the coolest things about this resort is how quiet and empty it feels. We were there in June 06 and the resort was full. However you would never know. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't feel deserted, it is just very comfortable. Even when we used the food court, it was never very busy.

This resort is my favorite, and I have stayed at many, including deluxes. I love love the grounds and the wildlife. I love the cruise to DTD. I love the atmosphere and feel of the place. I love not feeling like I am right on top of someone else. We are going back in September! Can't wait!

Loads of pics in my album below. I love the wildlife, river and lush landscaping and main pool.

We were just there 12/8-12/15. I really liked the resort, food court, scenery. The boat to Downtown Disney is very nice especially in the evening. My only complaint was the bus transportation, which if you do a search you will see several comments about it.

We had no problems with buses when we have stayed at POR and FQ in the past. Maybe it depends on when you go.:confused3

MagicMouse2- Not to take over this thread, but I see you went in August/sept. We are planning on the second week in Sept there. How was it as far as crowds weather busses etc? Thanks!

I don't have any pictures either but we really liked POR. We were there in July 07 and it was booked solid, but we never ran into any other guests near our room. There wasn't very many people waiting at bus stops either. It has a very relaxing feel to it.

The rooms had plenty of room for the 3 of us plus a stoller. The main pool was a little crowded, but not too bad. One day we were the only ones in the quiet pool after lunch, in JULY!!

I thought it was pretty, but I will never, ever stay there again due to how bad the bus service was. It always took at least an hour to get back from the parks, the lines were always the worst. Too bad, cause it was nice.

Can i ask what time of year you stayed there? Were the FQ lines just as bad? I wouldn't care to walk from the FQ back to R. Thanks!

POR is a beautiful resort-I love POFQ too but I think POR is more my favorite. The buses need to be remedied though...we didn't have it too bad since we typically go in September but I think they need more buses and each resort needs its own buses.

My dad chose the resort this time since it is his first trip(love taking a first-timer!) and he chose the Poly. If it were my sis and I again, we'd probably do one of the PO resorts.

We stayed there in 11/07 and loved it. The kids loved the pool, the boat to DD was very relaxing, and the grounds were beautiful. We were in Oak Manor and the rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. The only negatives, and I really wouldn't even call them that, were the crowded food court at times, the crowded buses at times, and the walking involved because the resort is so big. We really didn't mind any of these but some might. I think you would find crowded buses and food courts at any resort, depending on the time of year, weekends, etc... I would absolutely stay here again. The kids especially liked the pirate cruise they have twice a week. My hubby's favorite was renting a pontoon boat and cruising to DD and back by ourselves. We all can't wait to get back there again.:thumbsup2

I love this resort. This Christmas was our first trip at a moderate & I liked it better than most of the Deluxe resorts. It is true it never felt crowed.

They had a piano player every night who was so much fun. He had my father who does not drink standing up beating his chest like Tarzan...my kids were in shock. My father is very quite & reserved.

There is a sitting area off the lobby, than the area that the piano player is in then Boatwrights. We ate there 3 nights it was great.

They also have horse drawn carriage rides every night & an artist in the lobby.

This is the first resort I am looking forward to staying at again next year. I usually want to keep trying new resorts.

What is the pirate cruise?

Thanks! :daisy:

The resort has a pirate cruise 2 mornings a week for kids 4-12? and it costs about $30/kid. They report at the dock, are given pirate bandannas and eye patches, and leave on a special boat and go for a 2 hour treasure hunt with lots of stops. They return with a bag of goodies, singing pirate songs, and make a last stop in the lobby to find a huge treasure chest. They are also given lunch on the cruise. My kids loved it; hope this helps.pirate:
