Tell me about parking at Downtown Disney

How bad is it? Is the parking garage open? I think they're building a second one am I right? I haven't been there in years. Edited to add I'll be there on a Wednesday afternoon

One of the new parking garages is open. very easy.

DS arrived there last night, aka Friday night, had no issues getting in the garage, found a spot right away using the light system and was walking in DTD in a few minutes. He said it was a breeze.

Is approaching DTD from one direction more difficult than from another direction?

We were there on Wednesday. For us, it was easier entering from 535. A little less crowded passing the hotels. Second garage is not opened. We really like Marketplace and honestly from the garage or the lot across the street, it's a hike. I think what made it worse was it was 95 degrees.
