Tell me about Pandora Bracelets

If she loves bracelets she may really like it. I gave mine to DD12 and she occasionally wears it. She will probably get a Disney charm next month as a special souvenir.

Is this something that they have expressed interest in lately?
They were all the rage there for a while, but I really don't see a lot of people wearing them anymore. I know mine has been in the jewelry box for over a year.

I agree, You should make sure she has an interest before spending the money, none of the teens I know would be interested in them-don't know how they go with the 20+ age. Personally I think they are hideously ugly.

You might want to ask your daughter if she would like a Pandora bracelet. Many women in my area love Pandora, and most have multiple bracelets. Some teens and 20-somethings have them, but it seems to be more popular with the 30-somethings and up. The Brighton fad disappeared here years ago, and Alex and Ani hasn't caught on. However, the 20-somethings seem to adore Bourbon and Boweties bracelets.

If you want to commemorate her graduation or other special occasion, you might want to check out Tiffany's sterling silver collection. For the money that you would end up investing in a Pandora bracelet and two or three charms, you could get a Tiffany sterling bracelet, necklace, ring or earrings. If you don't have a store in your area, online or phone orders work very well.

I have a 23 y/o daughter her confirms that they are more popular with the "mom" crowd. She said she'd never wear one. That's not to say that some younger women would be fine with one. But given the overall disregard for them in that age group, I think I'd ask before spending the money.

I think this is a great idea. Unless your DD specifically showed an interest in Pandora it's risky. But something timeless and classic like a bracelet from Tiffanys would probably appeal to anyone.

To commemorate a truly special occasion I'd look at Tiffany's. Never goes out of style.

I have one and I love it!! I bought mine in Las Vegas while on vacation. I plan on getting charms on our vacations and love the fact that there are different charms for the different destinations. I got a dice charm in Vegas and purchased a castle charm in Disney last November. My husband purchased a heart charm when we were engaged and a bride and groom charm when we got married. I plan on getting the Disney exclusive bracelet and a few disney charms when we go back to disney at the end of the year so I can have that bracelet for my Disney charms.

My 12 year old god child wants one for Christmas. I am going to wait for the special Pandora runs, you spend $100 and get the leather bracelet for free. They ran the special a few weeks ago but they should run it again later in the year. I also heard that you can pay like $10 or $15 more to upgrade to the silver bracelet.

Anything sterling silver will tarnish over time. I have some pandora jewelry and I don't find that it's that noticeable.

But I have been to a couple of company stores and the sales associates could not be nicer. They will clean your bracelet there free. I take mine in when I go and think about it. Most of the time I don't even buy anything. No pressure and they are happy to clean my bracelet and charms.

I love my Pandora bracelet.
Mine is a timeline of my adult life - marriage, kids, hobbies and etc.

I started a bracelet for my DD last year when she turned 16.
For every Christmas, Easter and birthday we are adding to it, and it's going to be a time line of her life.
I'm hoping that by the time she is 21 the bracelet will be complete.

I buy everything at our local jeweler.
I would never buy online, because I like to really look at them before I buy them (especially beads that are a colored bead).
My jeweler has several ideas of how you can make beautiful Pandora necklaces and bracelets. I've never followed them, since mine is a time line and very personalized.

Don't waste your money on Brighton. It's garbage. Not real silver like pandora. Also seems like the older women wear Brighton. Bought my wife a brighton charm once and it turned her skin green where it was placed. Returned it and found out its just played silver over zinc/copper. You get what you pay for when it comes to pandora. To keep it clean, just get her a silver polishing cloth.

This is a good point: Brighton is silver plate, not solid sterling silver. Sterling can be polished and will keep its look forever as long as it is cared for and not exposed to harsh chemicals (such as chlorine). Plate can wear off eventually.

DD has Brighton and likes it. It is less expensive. She had a small stone fall out of one of the charms and had no trouble having them repair it. It is similar to Pandora but a less expensive option.

Now we can also throw Troll into the mix. They also make bracelets and charms. I don't have their bracelet but do have several charms that I wear individually on a necklace as a pendant. Seems pricier than Pandora.

OH my gosh! I love this idea! You guys are right! a bracelet from Tiffanys is perfect! I'm browsing now....Unfortunately I have no idea which one she would like, but I think I will probably go this route.

Thank you for the input!

I must defend Brighton. I have tons of Brighton charms, necklaces and earrings. I have never had an issue with Brighton. It wears and cleans beautifully. I have pieces that I have worn almost daily for years.
I broke down and bought a Pandora bracelet when Disney came out with charms and a bracelet. I get a 20% AP discount at DL, so that made it better. I will wear both. Pandora sometimes, Brighton sometimes.

I am buying my dd birthstone jewelry for her 21st birthday. I think that good jewelry is a good start for a young lady. Whatever you choose, get what feels best to you and your budget.
