Tell me about Narcossees.

DH and I started out week of WDW at Narcossees 2 weeks ago today. The food was outstanding. However-----we were seated at the first table up the stairs, overlooking the dining room. To our (my) left was a bar. When we first arrived for our ADR 's we were asked to wait in the foyer for a couple of minutes. Then we were brought to our table. I guess not everyone has to wait in the foyer. While we were having drinks, a large party came in and took over the bar area. They did not have drinks. There were 12 people in the group. 4 of them were children. They obviously didn't like the table they had been assigned to. The whole time we were having our drinks and appetizers and salad, they Roamed the bar area looking for the view they wanted. DH and I were sitting at a table for 4, which left 2 chairs open. Atleast twice someone from their party leaned over our table to check out our view. The final staw was when one of the men in the party was LEANING on the back of my chair, speaking to one of the hostess, who was about 15 feet away. When we asked him to move----he did. And then he came back again and rested his but on the back of the empty chair next to me.
We then went to the manager and requested a new table. He said --"we going to seat those people soon"

We said that's not good enough. Then he gave us a new table. Don't get me wrong. Everyone wants a great table. Disney is a family place. But Narcossees is NOT the ESPN club!!! I feel the management handled this very poorly. They saw them all wandering around. They saw them bothering other diners. At several times there were 3 staff people running around trying to satisify them......not once did they asked them to sit down- or even stay in the bar area.
I guess you can tell I'm still hot about it!

So sorry they messed up such a nice dining experience for you. Our perception of Raglan Road was ruined by a similar experience. We have found that the service and food of Narcoossees is exceptional. Wish you had the wonderful time we did. I would love to be back there right now!

We love Narcoossee's . Definately worth 2 credit's. We were there about an hour and 20 min.

I ate there on my birthday, the lobster was fine. Being from Boston i've eaten my fair share of lobster. I would rather crack it myself and get the legs too. I know it' s less messy the way they serve it.

I don't think the ambience or layout of the restaurant was anything to be thrilled with. I was there on a pouring rain day, the fireworks didn't happen, which was a bit of a bummer, but I have seen them from many locations around Disney.

I also don't see how it's a fancy pants restaurant other than the people are supposed to follow a dress code, whether or not they actually do is a different matter. I would save the 2 ts and eat at two different lovely restaurants.

It was a nice restaurant, but I guess I just don't get why it's two CS.

mjtm610: People shifting around for a better view isn't uncommon at Narcoossee's. I can only hope that if the view they wanted was of Wishes, their view was blocked by people standing outside (as it often is) and they had to go outside to see the show. As they would have had to do at the original table.
I recall one meal when two ladies and two kids HAD a window table--but it wasn't "centered" enough. They carried on so much that when a "centered" table opened up, management moved them in mid-meal (with all the food as well) to the new table. Then when the fireworks started, there were so many people on the deck that they couldn't see from the new spot. So they had to get up and go outside anyway!!

We've never eaten here - looking forward to it as our anniversary dinner and hoping to see Wishes. Should we expect that we have to go outside to see the fireworks and if so, what happens to our meal? (Terrified that our food would get removed and lost - this happened to us on NYE last year at a local place - everyone got up to go have a drink upstairs "on the house" and when we came back our half-finished plates had been taken away. We paid $$$$ for half a meal, but that's a story for another day.)

In my experience all of the waiters at WDW restaurants are very thoughtful about letting you watch the fireworks. I don't believe they would remove your food if you stepped outside to watch. Most of the seats in Narcoossee's have a great view, but I wouldn't worry at all if you want to step outside. Enjoy!

I dont think they would ever do that. Matter of fact last week I herd the wait staff telling the customers they could go outside and watch the fireworks but they pipe the music in and I think most tables have a pretty good view.

They are well used to the fireworks coming in the middle of patrons dinners. They won't remove your food--in fact, if possible they will pace the meal so you don't get a course just before the fireworks begin.
And they do encourage folks to go outside to watch the fireworks. The "problem" is that the deck outside is exactly level with the window tables inside--meaning that if there are a lot of people out on the deck, you cannot see the fireworks from inside the restaurant.

postesf: Flip-flops will be fine. I don't see many of the plain rubber pool style flip flops, but lots of the "fancier" ones.
