Tell me about MVMCP shows!!

We're going to MVMCP for the first time this year!!! Trying to decide whether to view the night as a chance to do rides with no lines, or concentrate on doing all the special things that you can't do during regular park hours--like see the shows!

Please tell me about the shows you've seen, what is not to be missed, etc. Oh--we are four adults traveling, if that matters... (after all, we're all kids at heart when we're at WDW )

We went for the first time last December. We did a combo - went on some rides; caught a show; on to more rides; then another show. Guest services can give you a schedule when you pay for your tickets or when you get to the park. With that you can plan your strategy. Really the only thing we waited awhile in line for was getting our pictures taken. If you take care of that early (there are various sites around the MK that have the picture stations), then you should be pretty much set to wander around and enjoy! We ended our evening with the musical show (complete with Christmas carolling) that was at the Diamond Horseshoe Revue. Hundreds of strangers singing holiday music late in the evening together - what an experience! Enjoy!

I have attended MVMCP each year since '99 and two fo those years, 2 times during the trips. I really enjoy the evening, so nice and happy at Christmas. It is well worth it I think. Enjoy.

We like the one in front of the castle, it's always right after the fireworks. The Diamond Horseshoe is a good one for adults, but I don't know if they will change it since they are currently rehabbing it into something new. The Tomorrowland one is more for kids.

Thanks for your thoughts and links to the other sites. It's so interesting how different people can visit on the EXACT SAME night and have completely different perceptions of the crowd level....

Any other thoughts on the party? Sounds like four adults might enjoy the Hoop-de-do and 'Twas the Night before Xmas show, but perhaps not so much the Belle storytelling.

My wife and I went for the first time last year and spent most of the time doing shows. We went on a weekend, so it seemed a little more crowded than I expected, although the couple rides we did go on didn't have lines. I don't know how many of the shows are "must-see" type things (except the fireworks), but because they were different, we spent most of our time doing that. They had a nice little quartet singing carols over by the Liberty Bell. We really enjoyed listening to them while waiting for the parade. Overall, even though it seemed pretty crowded, I thought it was well worth the money and time and would do it again in a second.

We've done two MVMCPs. The shows I liked best were "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and the one in front of the castle. Don't miss the parade either.
Last year they didn't show the fireworks on our night until 11:30 because of technical problems (wind--it was only 50!!!!) and Rudolph didn't fly but it was till really cool.
