This is my first June vacation since I was a kid growing up in FL! Can you guys tell me what to expect in crowds...weather? We are going 6/13-6/17. Thanks!

We've gone in mid June last several trips. Upcoming trip is June 12-19. It will be hot! The humidity can be tough sometimes. My advice, depending on your familie's ages, is to arrive at each park early, have a nice sit-down lunch (air conditioned), take a break back at the hotel in the afternoon, & then back to the park around dinner time for the evening activities. I might also suggest you consider the Unofficial Guide's touring plans so that you can tour efficiently.

As far as crowds, mid June starts to build to fairly heavy crowds. Just another reason to arrive early & use the touring plans.

These ideas have worked well for us.

We are going the end of June as well. Just remember to dress cool, buy some inexpensive ponchos to keep in your bag, think humidity, heat & crowded.

Everyone there is in the same boat, so just bring your bottle of patience as when it gets hot, some guests can be pretty grumpy.
Especially the little ones. Hit Fantasyland first thing in the morning then hit everything else. Good idea to go to back to the resort in the afternoon for a cool swim & rest before evening. Fast pass Splash mountain early for a refreshing early afternoon cooldown.

Just enjoy......you're on vacation!

WATER!!! And be prepared to pay 2.50 a bottle unless you bring your own, or use the Yuky water fountains.

I don't find June that Hot, compared to the other summer months like July, Aug. Maybe because I live in a humid state. I would rather go in June than any other summer month.

Not as concerned about the heat. I grew up in FL and hot is hot. I know how to deal with that! I'm more concerned with crowds. I've always travelled on off months so I don't know what to expect. I figure it maybe early enough to miss some of the summer vacation crowd. I know many of the southern states are out. But most of the NE is either just getting out...such as my DD....or the following week. DD last day is 6/11....hopefully we won't get a snow day tomorrow! They are calling for snow tonite!

:bounce:
I am also going 6/13 to 6/19. Public schools in Chicago don't get out to late June. Hopefully other cities will be getting out later in June so the crowds won't be so bad. One could only wish!! :earseek:

Mid-June is hot and humid. Crowds are large but you can manage it. Biggest factor will be rain. Some years in June all you get is a few afternoon to evening thunderstorms that don't last long. However, you can get years of torrential downpour like last year when it rained about 16 hours out of every 24 and most often that was pouring rain.

If it pours, will everything still be open? I don't mind getting wet at the mouses house. He he!!

I will be there June 12-17 this year. I visited in June back in 1997. It was hot but not unbearable (though I amm from Texas...)

We were Disney-ignorant in those days. We didn't get to MK until noon. We didn't follow any touring pass. Plus, this was pre- fastpass. That said, we still had a great time and did all the major rides. So, if you get there early and use fastpass you should have no problem. Just be prepared for the crowds and heat.

mep319,
I live in Mont. Co. too!! How does the weather in Florida in June compare to summers in Philly? It can get very hot and humid here. Is it worse in FL? :D

Hey Dallas Lady, my DD10 and I will be there at the same time as you and the girls! And, we're neighbors! I live in Carrollton!

We'll be there the same week!

That week shouldn't be too bad crowd wise. We've been there around that same time and as long as you go early and use fast pass it's not a problem. We went in July in 2001 and it was more crowded then - but we followed the above strategy and did fine.

I'm a bit older and a lot less heat tolerant but our summers here in Philly have been really hot the last few years and really aren't that different temperature wise anymore. I think we might get a few more "breaks" than in FL. The biggest difference in the summers is the rains. It rains almost daily in FL. When we get rain in Philly it usually last for days...not that that can't happen in FL but there is a daily thunderstorm and then it is typically nice. I think our weather has been getting a bit more extreme up here...hotter summers and colder winters...can you believe we are to get 6 inches of snow tonite?!? I live in Royersford...where are you?

mep319 ,
Thanks for the insight! Even though I am younger I am not all that heat tolerant. I am glad to here there won't be a huge difference. I live in East Norriton which is right around Plymouth Meeting. Aren't you glad we didn't get too much snow?? Hopefully thats the end of it. Is it June yet??

Well...I'm not that old! Today is actually my birthday...33! I'm mean it is much easier to handle as a teenager! I do hope it is the end of the snow....I hate it!

Happy Birthday!!!:)

That is not old. I am turing 25 next month so there is not that much difference in years. I hope you enjoy your day!

Our group will be there June 12-27, 2004. We have been in June before and it was not all that bad.:sunny: We also visited in late Aug. It was warmer but less crowded. As you can see we are going again in June so it was not that bad. And yes my wife cannot stand the heat.
