DH and I will be at WDW in March and thought we might like to go to Jellyrolls on this trip. I'd like to hear all about it. Thanks!

We have been there on two occasions and really, really enjoyed it. There is a cover charge. Dueling pianos with excellent talent. If my memory serves me right, there are two pairs that interchange. You can send your requests up to them with $$ but I think they basically get the same requests and so will arrange the songs in the order they want while acting like they are filling requests. And if someone requests a song that has already been done, they will not do it again.

Again, we had a wonderful time. We chose to go on a Tuesday night which is Cast Member (or was anyway) night. We got there early and so had a table - but as the night goes on it gets real crowded. The plus is that the place is hopping - the negative is that your "space" can be encroached upon if you are not careful. The first time we went there, a gal asked if she could sit with us ... my DH declined. It was a good thing because within the next 15 minutes, the table she sat at had 12 of her friends as well .... the original people were overrun !!! So, the downside is that the "regulars" can sort of take over the place.

Don't know if it is only Tuesday night, but they had a pony beer special (smaller bottles) from 9:00 until they ran out. I think the first year we went they were $1 each and then the last time (couple years ago) they had increased to $1.50. Still much cheaper than the regular prices. You would purchase a six-pack each time.

Anyway, I can highly recommend the place based on my experience. Not sure how "hoppin" it is on a regular night ... maybe depends if there are business functions being held in the convention centers (Dolphin/Swan/etc).

Anyway, we are hoping to go back when we are there next month.

I've been 3 times. The first 2 times we sat at a table in the second row back from the stage - nice and close. It was good, but you have to stay sitting unless they ask you to stand up for one of their special action songs.

The third time I went we sat along the right hand side (when facing the stage), just off to the side of the bar (close to the door that leads to the washrooms). The seats there are tall barstools along a bar-like table. So you sit next to each other in a row, instead of around a table. The view was great there too, but the best part was that we could get up and dance anytime we wanted without disturbing anyone, and we did many times!! That whole area became like a dance floor eventually! If that's the sort of partying you like, then grab those seats! If you just want to sit and enjoy, then the main floor is fine.

I love Jellyrolls, and I try to go everytime I go to Orlando now if I can.

In fact, I just got back 1.5 weeks ago from my most recent trip and it was great, as usual!! Was there every night, Feb. 7-9.

The details: Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar located on the end of the Boardwalk (opp. Atlantic Dance Hall). It is 21+ with a $10 cover charge and recently gone non-smoking. Doors open at 7pm, entertainment starts at 8pm. There are 4 piano players each night - 2 performing each hour. It's all-request and the more $$ you put up on a request, the faster it'll get played. If you REALLY want to hear a song, $20 is the official FP of Jellyrolls to get your song played immediately. Last call is at 1:30am and doors close promptly at 2am.

Transportation after: This past trip was the first time I'd NOT taken a cab back to my resort. Left around 12:30am and went to the BW bus stop. There were 3 busses for DTD. The driver of one asked where I was headed and I told him - next thing I knew I was on my way back to my resort on my own, private bus!! It was great!!!

Any other questions, feel free to ask!! A site for some great pics and schedule is: www.jellyrolls.us

That's great! I've always avoided Jelly Rolls because I'd heard it was so smoky in there. I was also unsure if there would be transportation back to my hotel that late. With Pleasure Island closed, does anyone know what time the last bus (or boat) leaves DTD. I'll be at POFQ in May and would want to make sure I could get back home.

They usually have busses there for the close of Jellyrolls that'll take you back to your resort. I've heard that when there is more than 1 party that the bus does stops at all the resorts it needs to to get everyone home.

The last time I was there, a couple years ago, we got there around 9:00 and had to sit in chairs over at the side (with no table in front of us, and people walking between us and the stage). The time before that we had a table near the back. How early do you need to get there on, say, a Monday to get a table?

You'll be fine before 9 on a weeknight, say 8.45 (other than cast members night - Tuesday?) - after that you get the Illuminations, Fantasmic and after-dinner crowds pouring in. Weekends you get some locals as well. I've been in at 8.30 and had no problems finding table. But of course it does depend a bit on time of year - the high season times have more people around, and therefore higher crowds everywhere.

A cab from Boardwalk to POFQ is less than 10 dollars including tip. Just take the cab. . .its well worth it after a night of fun.

Vanessa....I thought the same thing but I didn't even noticed the smoke. Maybe since we both will be in Disney the same time we can go together. Better yet, maybe Clare, Angie, Rich and Adrian will want to join us..:thumbsup2

Sounds great! I believe Rich and Adrian may already be planning on going.

Jellyrolls is now NO SMOKING!!!!

We were there the first week of February and it had just gone No Smoking!!!

It was very fun...a Wedding Party was there and the Bride and Groom were up on stage getting up and down to the B's in "My Bonnie lies over the Ocean". (Still in Wedding clothes at 10pm and the Wedding was at noon)

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

This is absolutely great news!!! We were there in Jan '08 & our clothes wreaked of smoke & our voices were horse from it all ....BUT I still would have gone back....but this makes it an absolute MUST! Thanks for the great news.....Now, I just have to plan that next trip down there...Deb

Here's What I've Learned...

1. Pay the $10- cover - It's absolutely worth it!

2. Get there before 9pm if you want a good table-8pm for the front

3. Bring cash to tip for songs - credit cards will work for the bar tab

4. Send up your requests on a napkin - $=request no $=suggestion

5. If you want your song played fast - then tip more

6. You can tip whatever you want for a song- but money talks lol

7. A Jellyrolls "fastpass" is $20- to get your song played now

8. If you don't like a song - you can shut it off by paying more than the person who requested it - you can also turn it back on by out tipping that person - This can be lots of fun! NY vs Boston!

9. The fun you have is based on the songs you request - if you request all Barry Manilow songs - your night will be different than if you request Queen, Beastie Boys, etc.

10. For most of us... We're on vacation - have fun- play hard because nobody knows you here lmao!

11. They only serve free popcorn - so eat first

12. There's no hotel-hotel bus service so to get to Jellyrolls get a cab to the Boardwalk, or walk through Epcot and exit out between France and United Kingdom or take a boat/walk from the Studios or you can get a bus from DTD

13. Jellyrolls is non-smoking so light-up outside

14. Be warned - the place is VERY addictive!

15. for more info check out the link in my signature :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for the great reviews and information!!!! DW and I are having a "Grams" (-ma and -pa) night out in April and it will not absolutely end at Jellyrolls.

We have had fun with #8. Our group of ladies went to JR's in November and I requested Scotty to sing Madonnas "Like a Virgin". He started to sing and someone sent up money and requested he stop singing the song. I then sent up $20.00 for Scotty to continue singing the song. Scotty got up and hugged the member of our group who took the extra money up.The crowd went nuts as Scotty continued singing the song and doing a very good job I might add. I don't think we have ever had a bad night at Jr's and we are a group who can range in age from 21 to 76:dance3: Susan
