Tell me about Jellyrolls...

I just got back from my 37th trip (OK, I've sort of lost count... but somewhere around there) to Disney. For some reason, I never made it to Jellyrolls before this trip. Probably has something to do with Pleasure Island closing.

It was great! I can't believe I missed out before.

The big downside..... the alcoholic drinks were crap. Very, very weak. I was drinking Crown & 7 Up for the whole trip. A drink at Il Trattoria (sp?) was fairly brown. The Jellyrolls drinks looks more like a very light beer. They were seriously, seriously watered down. When I asked for a double, I got the same drink, just in a bigger glass.

Figuring that Jellyrolls would be much fun drunk (it was), I spent a FORTUNE on alcohol.

The smaller downside... everyone at our table sent up requests on napkins... with tips of $5 to $10... this was pretty early; within a half hour of them opening. None of our requests were played. What we heard was everything else that I've seen in this thread. We even had the bride and groom doing "My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean." It all seemed pretty standard.

That said, I repeat... we had a great time, and I'll definitely go back. I'll probably spend some time in the bar at the Yachtsman Steakhouse first (a great, quiet "guys" bar).

I would have brought it up to the bar and complained, and
had them pour it again. They pretty much pour to the
standard amount per drink, so you may be like me and use to
bartenders that pour heavy.

The other way around that is to order a shot of Crown and 7up
on the side and mix your own :thumbsup2

Glad you had fun!

What is the easiest way to get from the Boardwalk Jelly Rolls at night back over to Port Orleans? Is there a late bus? etc.?

I'd like to know the same thing.

Take a bus from the boardwalk to DTD then catch a bus to Port Orleans. You could also save your self some time and get a cab from the boardwalk. Susan

Yeah I am a huge fan of cabs for post JR's drunken stumble ...lol Saves time and it really is not all that expensive to anywhere on property.

I really need to get one of those "If inebriated, return to POFQ" buttons to help the cab driver know which resort to take me to :lmao:

Hahahaha I wish I had one of those pin making machines... I'd make ya one....lol Hey I can always safety pin a hand written one to your shirt in it's place! LOL :lmao:

I'm usually such a lurker when it comes to the adult board, but now I'm a poster.

I'm going to be at Jellyrolls on 3/30, as long as I can convince my DBF that he won't have to dance.

We are going to be there for 8 days, but only have 7 day tickets. On 3/30 we're taking in a Red Sox/Braves game at WWoS and then heading over to the Boardwalk for dinner and then Jellyrolls fun!

It sounds like a great time and I can't wait to see if I can spot any LGMs, I'll be wearing mine!

No dance floor so the only dancing done is usually the really drunk ones.

Hope the Red Sox win!!

It is a great time, but don't think you'll see the LGMs like you do in the parks!

Just be careful with the cab drivers some of them think they can take advantage of those of us who've had a drink or 2(0).

Last year my GF and i emerged from Jelly rolls after a particularly long evening/early morning and jumed into a cab at the Boardwalk. Not sure if he heard our British accents and though we didnt know what we were doing or just tried it on because he knew we'd had a few but he said it would be $20 up front to Pop! Unfortunately for him I wasnt that drunk and we've done Jelly rolls numerous times and know how far it is from there to most resorts. I asked him to put the meter on. To which he replied 'are you sure its gona cost you' sarcastically. We insisted to his dismay and then he said you'll have to direct me, obviously hoping we'd get it wrong....we didnt. In end the fare came to $6.75. I insisted he gave me change out of a twenty and didnt give him a tip. I dont mind paying the going rate for a cab and had he said $10 up front i wouldnt have minded and probably would have given him a tip too. Silly boy.

Hi Everyone, I am taking a trip to Disney and hoping to go to JellyRolls on 4/29 and 4/30. Let me know if any of ya'll are going to be there, would love to meet up!! Robinpirate:

I went to the Boardwalk on my solo trip a couple of weeks ago, but alas did not go into Jellyroll's. I ended up at Fantasia Mini-Golf instead.

Not quite as exciting, but my cousin and her BF took the time out to visit me, so I didn't want to seem demanding. I did get a ride back to POFQ from them though.

We did eat at one of the restaraunts on the Boardwalk which completely escapes me now (something Grill, I think) and strolled around a bit.

I did get plenty of pictures of the Boardwalk. :rolleyes1

Is there of a point to walk to Jellyrolls right after seeing Fantasmic? It's tentatively on our schedule... but I don't know if we'll be able to get in, let alone get our money's worth (cover's $10, right?) before we need to head back to PORS. We've never been, and we'd like to try... but this sort of stuff always comes up - it's hard to fit it in. We don't really drink much, so we wind up just trying to maximize our park time instead.

Thoughts?

We hit Jellyrolls for the first time on our trip a couple weeks ago. We had a blast! Great service, great entertainment, even met a couple DISers. I usually travel with the kids, so I don't drink or go out at Disney often. I may not make it to Jellyrolls every trip, but I will definitely go again if time and circumstances allow.

We went for the first time on our last trip during Mousefest 08. Had an unofficial meet with other dissers. Was a great time. We plan on going back in two weeks..
