How was the food? ambience? the staff? I want to bring DH here for his birthday dinner... Thanks in advance for any help or insight.

We really like the GF cafe. I really feel like it is an overlooked gem, which is great because that means you can usually get in pretty good for a ressie. The restaurant is decorated in pastels with a definite victorian feel but not too much to feel stuffy. As far as the staff we've had great servers there and not so great servers there. It just depends and is the luck of the draw. Their NY strip steak is AWESOME and oh you must get the chocolate fondue for dessert.....SOOOO YUMMY. I say go for it!!!!

We love GF Cafe it is just a nice place. Very calm. I had better fish at GF Cafe then Coral Reef last trip.

We ate there last week for my dd's birthday and loved it. In fact it we felt it was the best dinner of our trip.

Due to one of our party not feeling so good in the morning and deciding not to park tour, we had to cancel our planned ADR at Epcot and tried to find something reasonably close to Wilderness Lodge where we were staying. We called at 8:30 in the morning and were able to get an ADR at 6:50 pm for 5 of us. It was the only place in the whole MK area that had availability.

We were so pleasantly surprised with the restaurant. The design is very light and airy and the tables were not crowded together. Our server was very attentive and courteous. The food was great. We ordered a cake for my dd and they brought it out with lots of fanfare and had the whole restaurant sing Happy Birthday to her. I'd never even heard of the Grand Floridian Cafe before we were offered the ADR there, but we will probably be returning next trip.

We ate there last October. It was on our "must do" list for our upcoming trip. The food and service was wonderful. I think you will enjoy it.

Definetely an overlooked gem. We got a late reserved ADR there before MVMCP and really enjoyed the meal. I'd go there again in a heartbeat. Probably one of the best meals we had at Disney.

we liked it....click on my January review below for pictures & details

We have been there several times. The first time that we ate there last year our service was terrible, although the food was good. The second time we were there, the service was okay, but messed up our order.

The restaurant is on the quiet side. The food is okay too. I have had better meals at other restaurants. The hostess was rude. I guess all places have good days and bad days. No matter, go and enjoy!

I'm glad I found this thread. I think we might go here for dinner on our arrival day. We love the GF but have never eaten at the GFC and the menu really appeals to us. The one deciding factor would be if it is an okay atmosphere for infants. Our DS will be 9 months. Is it relaxed enough for him, do you think?

We first found this last October for my birthday and absolutely loved it, it is truly a hidden gem. The food is good, service is decent not supper fast but attentive and the atmosphere is really nice.

My wife had a leftover TS credit when we were about to leave... she went to GF Cafe for breakfast. She came back very upset and dejected. The service there was sub par. The waitress made an offhand comment about her using the DP. She did not check on her after serving the meal. My wife also had to wait over 20 minutes just to have her order taken -- and the place was half empty!!! She ordered lobster eggs benedict and there was no lobster in it -- just a lobster flavored sauce... Based off of her experience I would neither dine there myself nor would I encourage others to dine there. If you want a great breakfast with interesting food then go to Boma.

Eeek! I am doing only two TS breakfasts (Boma and GF Cafe) for my next trip. The only reason I was going to the GF Cafe was for the lobster eggs benedict. Is this normal for the eggs benedict to have only lobster flavored sauce and no lobster?

The lobster burger for lunch (GFC Burger) had a lot of lobster, but didn't try the breakfast. We went there once for lunch and loved it, and once for dinner and hated it. Hit or miss seems like the theme.

We stayed at The Grand Floridian last Aug and ate at The Grand Floridian Cafe upon arrival for lunch..we loved it!!! The service was EXCELLENT and the food was yummy...it is one of those restaurants that people really overlook....We ate at Citricos for dinner one night and we liked that, as well...but for the price, service and food The GFC is perfect for a nice dinner..enjoy :)
