I've been on a few cruises and have always done the ironing thing until this last cruise. I spent all of the first night ironing everything while my friend down the hall sat out on deck sipping margaritas.
Knowing that she was going to regret not doing the same as I, I went to dinner the 2nd night expecting to hear all of her ironing horror stories. Instead, she arrived earlier than us and looking so refreshed and starched. I asked her how many folks were in the laundry room ironing and she responsed with, "Where is that room anyway?" Bewildered, I asked how she got all her clothes so neatly pressed. She said, "Oh, I just handed them to my stateroom host yesterday and they brought them all back today while we were swimming." Then I followed with, "How many did you give them?" She said, "The whole weeks worth." I asked how much did it cost? She said, "Who cares! I'm on vacation."
What a concept! Guess how much ironing I did the rest of the week? NONE. And it was so worth it.
As long as you're only having them pressed, it really is worth the convenience and reasonaby priced.
Another piece of advice, Tide stick. We left our home all dressed in our matching Disney shirts in preparation for the embarkation photo, which we had dressed horribly for on all previous cruises. While waiting fof our flight to leave, my teenage daughter spills strawberry juice all down the front of her bright yellow shirt. There goes that nice picture! I pull out the Tide stick and go to work mumbling many not so nice mommy words. I get on the plane still grumbling until I look down at her shirt and realize that it had all vanished. I now refer to my endless supply of Tide Sticks as the Tide Stick fairies. They knew that I wanted that vacation to start off perfectly and they made it happen! Hooray for the Tide Stick fairies!!
