Tell me about Garden Grill!

We went in Jan and it was great. The food was good, the service was good and the character were great too! We sat on the top level, don't see how where you sit would make any difference. We will definately go again. It was family style and there was lots of food. I think we told them no fish because we knew we wouldn't eat it. Actually I always feel guilty at family style TS because they give such huge portions. I think we are big eaters but we can never finish all the food. I remember the salad and rolls being especially tasty

I just looked at their menu. Is it true that kids don't get all of the same foods the adults do (on the dining plan)? I have a 9 year old who would be fairly upset about that.

The food is served family style. Your son can eat off the childrens or adult platter. Feel free to ask for more of any of the food selection that you'd like.

We LOVE GG! We have another ADR here in Sept!
Like pp stated it does rotate very slowly. In fact if you really aren't paying attention to the walls/decore/scenes from Living with the Land ride you wouldn't notice it.
The characters spend plenty of time taking pictures and signing autographs. We thought the characters would be hit or miss with just adults but they were awesome! Chip and Dale kept trying to steal our dessert. Mickey sat with each of us in the booth for some great photos! Pluto wouldn't leave my mom's braids alone.
The food was basic. It wasn't anything too extreme where I couldn't pronouce it... To us it was familiar food that we eat at home...flank steak, turkey, some fish, salad, bread.
We have sat at both top and bottom spots. I thought both were about the same, no strong opinions either way.
I think your 4 year old will enjoy GG--and I think you might enjoy it too! Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Ditto! For character interaction purposes, I think GG gives you the best bang for your buck of all the character meals. I also wanted to add that I like GG because it is quiet, whereas many of the other character meals can be deafeningly loud and chaotic.

Like someone else said, your kids can eat anything on the table and you can order more if you run out. I think my kids ate more at GG than they did at any other restaurant when we were there. We were lucky to be seated on the bottom level and my mother, who gets motion sickness very easily, did not notice the movement at all. The characters were fabulous, and I think this will be at the top of our list when we return.

The only negative I have (and it's a small one) is that on the bottom level, it is all booths and it was really hard to get good pictures of my kids with the characters. Every time one came by, they all had to slide out, then I had to slide out, and I worried that we were blocking the walkway because it is a little bit narrow. But, like I said, that was not a huge deal and we just went with it.

I enjoyed Garden Grill the characters where some of the best we had all trip(5 adults). The rotating part I could hardly feel or notice, Dmom on the other hand was having some issues with it, she was however hot, tired, and not in the best of moods. Which almost led to a meltdown (yes of my mother) the food is served family style and the roast beef was on the same plate as the mashed potatoes, however the beef wasn't 100% well done and there was "blood" in the mashed potatoes. Both Dmom and Dsis freaked out and almost left before I could ask for a separate bowl of mashed potatoes. So if that sort of thing grosses you out I would ask ahead of time for the food to come on separate plates. For that reason alone they will not be back. DH and I enjoyed it and will be going back.
