Tell me about characterpalooza

I've seen it mentioned a few times, but I'm not totally sure what it is. can someone fill me in? Thanks!

Hollywood Studios. The gates right beside the ToT gift shop..... At 230/430/730, the gates open up and there are seven characters standing there for an impromptu meet and greet! We met Rafiki, Genie, Donald, the Evil Queen, Stitch, Mulan and Mushu in a span of 8 minutes!! The gates close about 20 mins later! Check out KennyThePirates site for other character listings and times!!!! It was the best part of our trip! Our 5 and 3 yr olds were in heaven!!!!!

It takes place at Hollywood Studios. It happens at the gate near Tower of Terror and basically a bunch of characters come out to do meet and greets for a short period of time. The characters are random and there is no way to know who will be there until it occurs. Kenny the Pirate has all the information you need at his website (including the times that it occurs)

We did it two years ago when it was on streets of America and met stitch, pinocchio, max, mulan, evil queen, green army man, captain hook and a penguin. my ds then 5 was so excited. I plan on trying to catch it in september if the times line up for our schedule.

The times vary. Last week at 5:40 we met Mulan, Evil Queen, Snow White, Tiana, Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie, Pochahontas

Use Kenny's crowd calendar for exact Palooza times. There is a formula to use to calculate when the first Palooza will occur:
The last (or only) Fantasmic minus 4.5 hours = the first Palooza session.

I just checked on his site and it says 5:45pm. So only once? I guess I get the impression it is 3x a day at the times posted above.

When there are two Fants scheduled, there is only 1 Palooza.

If there is only 1 Fant scheduled, there will be 3 Paloozas.

totally the best, dont miss it! We met Pocahontas and Meeko, Aladdin and Jasmine, Evil Queen, Stitch, Minnie Mouse, and Rafiki. It was really great!

Autographs and photos. No photopass photogs but there are a lot of Attendants (they are also Fant performers) who will take photos for you.

If they do three of them in a day, do the same characters come out each time? Is it worth it to go to all three?

It will be the same set of characters at each Palooza. If you miss some the first set you can return and catch the others.

we caught characterpalooza on our trip last August. it was awesome! but it seemed like a lot of people knew about it. we met the Queen of hearts and Aladdin, jasmine, and the genie. there were lots of other characters, but they had lines so long we didn't have a chance.

but I do have a question: we'll be at DHS in May, and according to the current schedule there's one F! show at 9:00. what time can we expect characterpalooza? thanks, evwryone!

We did something in 2012 that was in a room by the Disney Magic of Animation building ( I think) where a bunch of random characters came out. Is this the same thing at a new location? Or do they still do the other one?
