Woo-hoo! I'm so excited-Matt and I finally got our waitlist for the BW view 1 BR in January. So what can you tell me about it? The only 1 BR I've ever been in is at OKW, so I know this will be smaller, but that's all I know. How's the "people-watching" potential from the balcony? And will I definitely have a balcony off the BR or only off the LR?

Congrats! We had the BW-view in March and it was awesome! We came back from the parks one afternoon for the kids to take a nap. I got up from my nap to find my kids on the balcony, relaxed back in chairs on the balcony people watching! Too cute! (they are 5 & 9, not toddlers or anything) Lots of people watching from the balconies! We only had trouble with noise from the bars one night, and that was St. Paddy's day.

You will have the balcony from the LR as well as the BR. Congrats!! I love the BW, one of my fav' home resort!! It is very nice to sit on the balcony and watch the people strolling. If you are on the high floor, you will be able to catch some glimpse of the EPCOT show at 9 PM...

have fun!!

We just had a boardwalk view room on our trip in mid-August. It was rooms 4007 (studio side) and 4009 (1 BR side) which were fourth floor at the end of the Boardwalk in the "Crest of the Wave" section above the old DVC sales center. From the living room balcony you could watch Epcot fireworks and MK Wishes fireworks on clear nights. The Wishes show could be seen above the Yacht Club. The balconies on this section are open except for the top floor which has an awning above it.

People watching was great from the balcony. You have two plastic chairs and a little table and it was a nice place to sip a cold drink on a hot day or just enjoy the view at night.

The only downside is that you will get loud, drunk people coming out of the clubs between 12 nidnight and 2am most nights. They pass by quickly, but they can be irritating if you're a light sleeper.

Last year we had rooms 2035 (1 BR) and 2037 (studio) which were on the second floor above the General Store. This room had a closed balcony with a crescent shaped opening that provided some privacy from people on the Boardwalk. The second and third floor rooms in this section above the store and brew pub all have enclosed decks. The upper floors are open with awnings on the top floor.

Big Tigger - on our last 2 trips we have been in almost the same rooms as you !! In Jan we had a 2 BR on the top (5th) floor in Crest of the Wave building - amazing view - we also enjoyed eating take out (mostly from ESPN) and having a glass of wine while we watched the high fireworks from Wishes and Illuminations!! Last week I checked my sis and her boys into a 2 BR right over the Screen Door (2043/45)- they loved the privacy of the 'enclosed' balconies (sis said it was so nice to wander out in her nightgown!!), plus they could sit out even on rainy afternoons. Both of these rooms were beautiful and in great shape - very clean!!! Next trip will only be for 3 nights in a standard studio (using up a few leftover points)- I sure will miss that boardwalk view!!

Simba's mom - if you will be there on marathon weekend, the balcony was a great place to cheer the runners from !!!- hope you enjoy it as much as we did!:smooth:

I'm so happy to read these posts. We ended up with BW view for our trip this weekend. I've been trying not to think about it b/c I don't want any (awesome) pre-conceived notions setting me up for letdown on our first trip home. But now, with only a few days to go, I'm gobbling up any and all info I can get. Bring it on! I'm ready to hear all about it! :D

Some of the balconies are enclosed - because of the high solid wall, people watching is limited to being able to stand.

In addition to "bar close" noise, if you are traveling with small kids, you may want to know that the Illuminations fireworks are LOUD from the BW. And you can hear Fantasmic as well.
