DH and I have never eaten at any of the AKL restaurants, and we were thinking of trying Boma. I'd love to hear any reviews!

Boma is at AKL not AK. The food is really good. Much better than a typical buffet. It is different but not "too" different. What I mean is it is familiar foods but preparred or seasoned a bit differently.
Boma Dinner Menu

For some reason Ican't open the breakfast menu right now. Just click on "back to menus" on the paged that is linked above to find the breakfast menu.

My son and I had dinner there last December and we loved it! There is such a great variety, and it is fun to try all the different dishes. The soups were delicious. I would recommend it highly.

BOMA's - we LOVE this place!!!! Its become a family favorite for sure! Even my teen DDs love eating here, especially the Zebra Domes!!! The BBQ ribs are wonderful!!! The soups are great!

The first time we tried BOMAs, I wasn't sure if my youngest DD (5 yrs old) would like it, so she went to Simbas Clubhouse for an hour while we (DH and I and 2 teens) ate at BOMAs. She really enjoyed her stay at the Clubhouse - and we loved our dinner!!! Since then, we've been back quite a few times, and Allison comes with us and she enjoys it too! There is a kids section, but she tries some of the other foods too!

Be prepared to be pleasantly surprised!!! Be sure to make a PS as it does get crowded sometimes. This past early Dec, there was over an hour wait if you did not have a PS. Allow some extra time after dinner to check out the hotel and all the animals! It is a great hotel!!!

I love Boma and I'm a fairly picky eater. I've been there twice and both times they had a salmon dish that I loved. Once it was wrapped in banana leaves (I think) and this time it was crusted with nuts. There is a nice variety of items and like another poster said, it's different but not too different. Enjoy!

We liked it so much we went twice during our last visit! Our server let us know that they did rotate menu items during the week so we wouldn't be doubling up on too many things (but they always have zebra cakes - YUM!) My favorite was a rice dish made with peanut butter. I can't wait to go back! Enjoy!

As much as I love WDW, I have to say that after running all around the parks I felt a little bit like my delighted little 6 year old daughter had been taking ME for a walk instead of it being a leisurely family vacation....which is okay, since it was DISNEYWORLD and she was just so excited, but one of my truly ADULT experiences at WDW was our dinner at Boma's. While I am NOT a buffet lover I thoroughly enjoyed Boma's. The food was great - as said above, the RIBS ARE AWESOME...and my husbands loved the almond crusted fish....anyway, we dropped our daughter off at Simba's Clubhouse which is right there by Boma's in the AKLodge and although I was anxious about dropping my only child into the hands of strangers - it really was fine. My daughter was FED and had a great time - and my husband and I got to make our way through the buffet line as often as we wanted without negotiating who was going to juggle the 3rd plate (daughter's plate). Boma's is one restraurant at Disney that I make a point to RETURN to next visit. Make a reservation for your meal and Simba's so you get a good reservation time. It is a little effort to get to AKL since there technically isn't transportation from hotel to hotel - but you just take a bus FROM a park TO the AKLodge on the bus that has her name on it. No biggie. I personally am not taking a taxi...Disney transportation is fine for us....arrive early and take a look around the lobby at AKL. It's lovely. Oh, and if you collect pins, look at the pins on the people at the desks. WE got lanyards up there.

This place was the best. It was so good that my wife and I ate here twice during our stay. We definately look forward to going back when we visit.:Pinkbounc:cool:
