Tell me about Akerhaus for solos

Specifically, do they bring some things to your table, and some are buffet? Or is it all buffet? Have any solos gone? I've been to many character meals solo, but I've never been to Akerhaus because I didn't quite know how it would work-I thought they brought certain things to your table. And are all meals equally good? Is there one meal that's less difficult to get an ADR for? And last, compared to other character meals, how loud is it?

We had breakfast there in Nov. It was 3 of us adults. I have never been solo but we loved it! They bring your drinks to your table. You can go right up to the cold buffet and the waiter/waitress will bring your hot items to you. Breakfast hot items were scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and an amazing cheesy potato casserole. The cold buffet was actually wonderful and a lot to choose from. You can also ask for mickey waffles and they will gladly bring those to you too. We had an early 8:15am adr so we were one of the first seated and it was pretty quiet until they start the princess parade with all of the kids. It was really cute. I would definitely do breakfast there again. I really don't like the lunch/dinner menus too much.

I've never gone there solo because I couldn't quite figure out the family style thing for a solo. However, if they bring just what you order at Akerhaus, that would be fine. The hot items are brought to you all on one plate family style. It is still a character meal w/ the princess's.

Nope no additional charge for mickey waffles. They bring out a plate of the small ones and are happy to do so if you ask. I loved the Garden Grill in November.. it was one of our best meals of the week.

I went solo. I felt a teensy bit awkward when they called out 'party of one' and I got a few weird looks but meh. I did a breakfast, so the cold stuff was a buffet and they brought the hot stuff to me, and I was able to ask for more of whatever. Nice food, but I wouldn't go again solo. But that's just me. I'm sure you'll have a blast! :

Thanks all! I just checked the prices and the cheapskate in me said "There's much cheaper buffets that I enjoy", so I guess I won't be rushing there anytime soon. I should have realized that the word "Princess" adds about $15 to a meal, worth it when DGDs are with us, but not for this solo.

Restaurant Akershus used to be good. Now it has Princesses.
