We are going the 2nd week of December and have never been this time of year. We are wondering what the parks will be like (as a rule) as well as the weather. Trying to figure out what to pack and what to expect when it comes to the crowds and all. We'll be there the 9th through the 16th.

THANKS!

It shouldn't be very crowded then. As far as what to pack, The weather is normally in the 70's possibly 80's then. We normally take shorts & short sleeves. A few long pants & sweatshirts/light jacket for evenings if we need them. Have a great trip!! We will be there 12/15-22!!!!

We have gone the second week in December for the last three years and the crowds have been very light. The only times we really encountered crowds were on Sat. & Sun. in the parks. The temp. are anywhere from the 50's - 70's during the day. It gets much colder once the sun goes down though, in the low 40's many nights. We will be back again this year from Dec. 1 - 10. We are doing MVMCP on Dec. 4 and the Candlelight Processional dinner package on Dec. 6. Have a great time on your trip. If you have any more questions feel free to send me a PM.

We will be there too 12/12-16 :Pinkbounc

We have never been to WDW during that time of year either.

It's going to be fun :Pinkbounc

Just bought myself some nice warmer pullovers for the evening...and a thin pair of gloves...just in case. I can't have fun if my hands are cold. I have read some posts that it can get pretty chilly at night...espically at EPCOT.

I plan on packing shorts and jeans, long sleeve shirts, cotton sweaters, tee shirts and a jacket or two. Even if it's 70's during the day, shorts and a sweatshirt/cotton sweater are really comfortable.

I will be there from Dec 9-12 for the first time during that time, and I plan on bringing just jeans and sweaters. If it gets really warm I will have on a tshirt underneath to wear. I will check the weather closer to the trip. I hope is isn't too crowded but if it is that's okay.

There was a couple of nights last year at EPCOT when it was in the 30's with the wind chill. It was the first time I had ever seen Illuminations where there was not much of a crowd. We always take sweatshirts and a winter jacket with us.

The weather can be very :sunny: to very :cold: and you may even need a :umbrella: . I usually pack everything :rotfl2: . In 2003 Dsis and I had an illuminations cruise and it was 40 degrees. We just covered up with a blanket and did just fine. This year as usual I will pack shorts, jeans, teas and a sweatshirt along with a light jacket. In 1999 we had on winter coats and gloves for MVMCP and we arn't wimps. I think the crowds are fairly light especially around the 2nd week of december. We will be at WDW 12/3-15th. Susan

We love December because the crowds are very light. As far as weather goes, it is so unpredictable, you will have to check the weather before you leave. One year it was absolutely fabulous -- 70-80 during the day and 70 at night. It was the best. We never needed our long pants or jackets. The next time we went, it was cold. Never wore our shorts. Kids did swim in the pool but the weather was in the 50s. The pool is heated. And on the last day we even wanted hats, mittens and a thicker jacket. Then we went when the weather was continuous rain. In the winter, Florida has more than just a quick shower and it's over. It rained all day, every day. Not the best time. But I still continue to think December is the best time of the year to go. Low crowds, very festive, and definitely not too hot. Again, check the weather before you leave and bring a little of everything.

We were there the second week of Dec. last year and crowds were really low. It was cold. I think it was in the 70s or 60s during the day and 40s at night. We stayed at the Poly and the cold wind from the lagoon would go right through you.

Last year in December it was cold and rainy. We were there the first week of January and it was very warm during the day (upper 80's), and warm at night (70's). We never needed a jacket or long sleeve shirt...shorts and tanks for day and night.

I'm packing everything. We'll be coming from Chicago, so we'll have our winter jackets and mittens already.

We'll be there from 12/9 - 12/14.

There is nothing like a brisk evening in EPCOT in December listening to the CP...get hot chocolate or a funnel cake and enjoy the music...no real snow though!

Oh excellent info, thanks!! I usually start packing a month out (because I pack for me and the kids and dh packs for himself, you see I don't worry if he forgets his underwear :rotfl2: ). Since we are there for a week, I'll probably just bring 3 pairs of shorts and 2 capris and 3 jeans and a mix of short sleeves and sweatshirts. I love the gloves idea because believe me, I cannot enjoy myself if my hands OR feet are cold! lol

I will watch the weather a week or so before we go to get a better idea of what it will be like. I am really excited over this, we have never been to WDW at Christmas time, it looks so magical!

To all those going have a GREAT time!! We will be at MVMCP on the 15th, so looking forward to this!
