*** Television Spring 2010 ***

One of my concerns is with A&E and ION showing CM nightly, it may be over-saturation for the show. People get sick of so much gore & serial killers, and instead of airing less of the re-runs, the new season gets canceled. :sad1:

Thanks! Its almost time to add Leverage back to the TiVo.

Question about Tivo (since I'm a new Tivo user). If I have a season pass set up from a previous season, will it work when the new season starts or do I have to set up a new one?

Also, when you do a single recording, is it recording the time slot or the program? I set up my Tivo to record the re-airing of Glee tonight, but the listings still say Kitchen Nightmare. If they update the schedule, will it still record?

Season Passes are specific to series and network. As long as Tribune (the company that collects and distributes program guide information) didn't screw up, then the series should have the same code season after season. One example where we did have to set up a new Season Pass is when "Meerkat Manor" was renamed by Animal Planet "Meerkat Manor The Next Generation". Tribune considered that a completely new series, and gave it a different code. Cases like that are very rare, though, and it is even rarer for it to affect major network programs.

There are two ways to set up a single recording: By selecting a program from the program guide, and by setting up a manual recording. If you pick a program from the program guide, then TiVo will record that program, even if they move it (as sometimes happens, such as when they decide to start it at 9:01 instead of 9:00). If you set the TiVo up to record Kitchen Nightmares, and then later today your TiVo gets updated program guide data showing that Fox is showing Glee instead, it will not record anything, and the recording history will show that it didn't record Kitchen Nightmares because it was removed from the program guide.

If you can't set up a manual recording (perhaps you're not home) your best bet would be to set up a recording, specifically for tonight's Glee episode, using the online scheduling. Presumably that's already been updated, and so it will let you do it. Your TiVo will get your request and put it aside (because the program you requested is not [yet] in the program guide), waiting for the program to show up in the program guide. Then, assuming your TiVo gets the program guide update, it'll realize that it should record Glee, and do so.

I think you need to move SYTYCD under the Premiers heading.

Hi Bicker, have the Fall TV schedules been announced yet? Or when will they start the announcements?

Thanks,
Kim

This is for Leverage: will I need to fix the TiVo season pass with the night change?
