UPDATED!(August 5): Not much is new, but I added a little bit and also thought I'd bump this up for new members and lurkers :)

Here is my view on Universal Resort and hope to answer your questions if you have teens going to Universal/Islands of Adventure. I may repeat a lot of what I have on other threads but thought I'd combine everything here and even add some things.
---------------------------------------------

First off, I would like to say I am a 15 year old female. I live in South Florida and therefore visit Universal on a regular basis. I have gone to the parks with friends my age, my church youth group (yes my idea for the field trip!), with only my parents, and other relatives. I have stayed at only one hotel onsite which is the Royal Pacific Hotel. However I stopped by Portifino and Hard Rock just to check it out a bit. Especially the pools.

On this thread I will post my thoughts and opinions from the hotel, the rides and shows at the parks, where I like to eat, and what I enjoy doing after the parks are closed.

Any additional questions feel free to leave a post or can PM or e-mail me.
---------------------------------------------

Hotels: My thoughts about staying onsite
************
Check-in: I believe check-in is usually around 3:00 PM. However my parents and I checked into the Royal Pacific Hotel at 8:00 AM because our room was ready! Never wait until check-in time because if they have your room available already, they'll give it to you.
Twice when we stayed at RPR we had our room ready by 8:30AM, however our most recent stay, this wasn't the case. They let us pick which tower and floor we wanted and gave us our confirmation number (which we'd give to the receptionist so she knows who's calling to see if room is ready). We called around lunch time and it was ready.

Our Room: We had a standard room with a standard view. We didn't mind the lack of scenery outside our window. We did not spend much time in our hotel room, or if we did we were either sleeping or watching TV and did not care about our view outside. But even though the room is small (335 sq. ft I believe) it's especially cozy. They have the most comfortable pillows! I probably used like 3 of them!! The scenery was beautiful and the atmosphere can not be beat. The employees were extremely nice. One time my dad cracked a lame impression of Arnold Schwarzenegger and a few employees over heard and started cracking up (not in a "laughing at you" it was actually sincere!!). I caught that on my camcorder!! Priceless. The bathroom is very spacious. It was made handicapped accessible and so it was even bigger than my bathroom in my own house. I loved the convenience of the large closet. We could hide away lots of our things but where they were still easily accessible. On our second stay, we got a standard room with a fab view of IOA and the river the water taxis ride on. Even though we had a palm tree right in front of our window, the view was still beautiful. Our most recent stay we didn't get our theme park view, but had a lovely water view room which was indeed nice. Had a darn palm tree in front of our window again.

FOTL: Nothing beats Front of the Line access. Showing the key and then having it scanned and *presto* you are in the Express Line! No getting in line to get your pass and walk around waiting for the pass to become valid (due to your chosen time slot).

LOEWS Welcome Gift: For being a LOEWS member, I found the welcome gift to be great. We got 3 or 4 HUGE cookies and a pitcher of milk. I ended up not eating any of it (sounded too sweet for me...I like spicy food!!) and next time my parents are going to get some wine to share instead. The following time my parents tried to get the beer and nuts. At the time we didn't realize they didn't offer beer and nuts at the Universal hotels and after calling the front desk questioning our welcome gift, we gave up. No welcome gift that trip. But when we went again at the beginning of August, they finally had the beer and nuts option and my parents were pleased. 3 different bottles of beer including a "light", Summers Ale, and something Sam Adam's brand. Nuts were in a coconut shaped container...but it's round so my dad ended up spilling most of them out.

The Pool: Never did try out the pool but I did walk past it numerous times when I went to the water taxi. The pool is large. Crowded, but it was big enough to accomedate everyone there comfortably. There aren't any slides in it which was too bad. Seemed like a nice relaxing pool, however. And there was a really cute lifeguard! :p

HARD ROCK Pool: This is the only pool I got to try out It is a bit smaller than Royal Pacific's I think...but not by much. Of course it could have been that the pool was shaped differently. I loved swimming in this pool. Some people I believe played water basketball and there was a slide. Now this water slide is actually quite decent! Not just straight down but actually curves and all. A lot of little kids went on this but this didn't stop my friend and I from joining in on the fun. We only had time to go on it about 3 times. Bummer :( But another cool thing was the music played underwater. There are speakers on the floor of the pool blasting Rock Music. OK blasting may not be an appropriate term...it's not overly loud...you have to be quiet or up close to the speaker to make out the words. I was quite amused by this!!

I'm not going to bother with the Portifino Bay's Pool because I only got to see it briefly because of a storm. Two slide though. Very pretty.

Islands of Adventure:
************
Rides and Shows:

The Hulk: For those who don't know already, this is the mean green rollercoaster near the front of the park. It's really fast and therefore the ride is very short. This is by far my favorite rollercoaster anywhere! Quite unique in a few ways. I liked how it was pretty smooth and not "too much." Montu at Busch Gardens, Tampa, gives me a headache because all the corkscrews after another. Can't get my mom OR dad on this though. Shucks!
For added excitement eat at Comic Strip Cafe and then run over and ride the Hulk! It's like a completely new ride! :p

Storm Force Accelatron: OK I have heard this is like Tea Cups on crack. OK...I don't quite understand...however, this is a nice ride to take younger kids while waiting for someone to get off the Hulk. I have taken my cousin's young daughter at age of 7 and two kids 7 and 4 or 5 on this and they liked it. But of course: expect to get dizzy! I only do this ride when I have a little kid to take. I wouldn't ride it otherwise.

Dr. Doom's Fearfall: Aww come on you sissy's ;) this ride isn't TOO bad!! I actually LOVE this ride a lot!! You get launched up in the air pretty fast (even catches you by surprise many times after you've ridden it) and slowly drops you back down. (Once you reach the top, however, and you begin to go down...you'll feel yourself lift off your seat...this is the "thrill" part for me...freaks me out a bit though!). My dad sometimes goes on this but doesn't much anymore.

Amazing Adventures of Spiderman: This is the BEST simulator ever. Instead of just sitting in place acting like you are moving, you are indeed on a track! You wear 3-D goggles to see what's going on. One of the best rides at Universal and everywhere! I can't find a ride similar to this...it's so unique and neat! Definately my mom's favorite ride! She'll ride it a couple times in a row. But this is one of the most popular rides at IOA so try going on this as soon as the park opens...line has been know to get to a near 2 hour wait or longer! But only during busy seasons.

Dudley Do-Right's Rip Saw Falls: Similar to Splash Mountain I would saw...I guess because it has a bit of a story and then a big drop. I dislike this ride becxause of the big drop (I can take the ones on coasters and Dr. Doom but never water rides for some reason...they are painful...). One of my dad's favorite rides.

Popeye and Blutos Bilge Rat Barges: Definately a fun water ride! Those who have been to Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL can compare this to Congo River Rapids. However the theming and story is better. You even have a better chance at getting soaked! Water falls, cruel spectators shooting us with water guns, rough currents...it's great fun to get cooled off! I enjoy this a LOT.

Jurassic Park River Adventure: I only went on this a couple times because of one reason: the drop at the end. Again, water rides with decent sized drops are painful for me (the sudden end to the steep drop is the painful part) so I don't like them much. The dinosaurs were pretty cool looking and it was fun. It's a boat ride that goes oh-so-wrong!! A lot of people like this ride and my friends my age love it.

Poseidon's Fury: UGH! I do not like this at all. It's a show type thing but the only "cool" part about it was the water tunnel where the water jets are shooting so hard they circle around you forming a tunnel. There is NO glass between you and the water...that's so cool!! The show itself I found boring and lame but my dad likes it a lot. I know some teenage guys that like this (TraderAsh, 16 male, likes this). So it's all a matter of opinion. No surprise.

Dueling Dragons: I love these coasters. Is it me or is Fire the one with more twists and corkscrews? Either way, both are fun. They are "just" long enough where any longer would have been too much (at least for my DAD). The coasters are SO smooth. I'm a short person (darn genes!!!) and my head usually bangs against the headrest on rollercoasters (I remember the dreadful headache after riding Python at Busch Gardens, Tampa.). However Dueling Dragons are really smooth. Even my dad was impressed by this.

Either Voyage of Sinbad: Another Show. I guess you have to see it at least once. It's really cheesy and sooo predictable. However there are some scenes that are a bit funny and enjoyable. I wouldn't watch it again, though. One I think kids would like better than teens.

The Flying Unicorn: I think I would have liked this "mini kiddie coaster" better if my cousin's daughter (7 at the time) didn't make my friend and myself take her on it at least 4 or 5 times in a row (and then kept begging for more). It's a small rollercoaster with no loops or corkscrews and anything. Mostly just up and down...a kiddie ride. It gets boring after a bit though...except for kids too small for the big coasters!!

The Mystic Fountain: I remember about 4 years ago when I made my first trip to IOA. There was this guy who did the voice of the fountain. He was unbelievably funny and clever. Now, they have new people. I haven't found anyone quite as funny. Though mostly because I either don't have time to stay and listen long or CAN'T stay to listen because it's the lady with the nearly intolerable chipmunk sounding voice. OK she's not that bad. This is funny and worth checking into. Sometimes the fountain tries to grant wishes. But be prepared...the Mystic Fountain is quite a joker and you may get wet!!

The Cat in the Hat: This is adorable. Not the best ride at IOA, but it tells the story of the Cat in the Hat with props following the storyline. You are in a car that spins and jerks (quite fun actually) but I heard you can request no spin. Definately see at least once.

One Fish, Two fish, Red Fish, Blue fish: Oh man oh man! Another kiddie ride! I went on this about 4 years ago. It was OK...similar to Aladdin's Magic Carpets or Dumbo I think (been so long since I've been to Disney though) only the fish occasionally squirt water. Recently I actually saw two guys around 17, 18, or so on this! Acting "so cool." Well, as long as they are enjoying themselves!! I don't think missing this ride would cause any regrets to teenagers, however...or at least most of them!

---------------------------------------------

Universal Studios:
************
Rides and Shows:

Jimmy Neutron: Sadly, this ride made the famous Hanna Barbara ride retire. But, despite the change in the chracters and plot, the ride itself maintains the same general idea. Still with various cars seating aprox. 6 - 8 people each, you are all facing a large screen and experience a simulator ride that's out of this world! Replacing Elroy, Yogi, BooBoo, and Fred Flinstone are Jimmy Neutron and many various Nicktoon characters. Even if you don't watch Nick anymore this ride is enjoyable. Though considered a "kiddie ride" by some, the ride is actually quite rough. Not as bad as Back to the Future, but still enough to please a teen or adult. I usually do this ride at least once. It's fun and enjoyable. The Chicken Dance is a little cheesy, but oh well.

Shrek 4-D: Where to start? Oh! It's the newest addition to US! Taking place after the movie, Shrek, you are taken on a journey while Fiona, Shrek, and Donkey when Honeymoon Plans don't go as planned. Hilarious and some quite surprising effects make this a sure to please ride. Though a simulator, this is not very rough at all (IMHO). Not compared to Jimmy Neutron. It's cute and should be seen. At first I found Shrek to be a waste of time...maybe because I had to wait in a 45 + minute line and was expecting something more intense (I don't know why...). I'd turn down going on it, but when my parents persisted, I did. I found I like this ride more each time I ride it. Now that I know what to expect, I can appreciate it better.

Twister: I hate twisters. I hate the thought of twisters...so I hate Twister. The show (yes, I call this a SHOW) has some neat special effects that show what it's like to witness a huge tornado. Even though the ride is not scary for teens and adults (would be for children, however) it's the thought that freaks me out. I especially won't see this if it's about to rain or if it's dark out. The worst is the footage of actual twisters that is shown in the que line. Those who have a phobia of twisters like I do shouldn't go on this.

Extreme Ghostbusters Show: Many of you have probably missed this show whenever you went because it's a street show. Walking right past Twister toward a dead end with some steps is where the show takes place. The Extreme Ghostbusters are here to rescue New York from Beetlejuice but something unplanned happens. And because of the chance of cute guys being Ghostbusters during the show you see, I recommend seeing this at least once for women of all ages. From teenagers to grandmothers. It's only 15 minutes so if (God forbid) you don't like it you didn't waste much time at all. It's fun and clever and definately entertaining. Guys can watch this show at least once too (I've heard of guys that have seen this a few times too...and no...not because of the guys...they actually liked the show). Kids love the show too.

Street Breaks: A fun break dancing show. Lasting only 15 minutes, the fun continues from beginning to end. Even a volunteer oppurtunity! Not much to say but worth checking out. Lots of teens like this show. As well as adults and kids...and grandparents (saw a "Grandpa" volunteer "get down" and REALLY into it! :) ).

Earthquake: I love this ride a LOT!! The preshow is awesome showing some special effects and small scale models from actual movies. Then getting volunteers to show even more special effects. This is a pretty long preshow, I'll admit, but I find it very interesting. Then you are taken onto a "subway" tram where you then get stuck on during an 8.3 earthquake!! Great special effects. Ride doesn't last too long but is really neat. Kids may get scared on this but it's really cool for teens and adults.

Jaws: I guess people know this as a "classic." The famous boat ride that encounters Jaws, the infamous Great White Shark!! The shark is very mechanical...not really realistic looking and depending on your "tour guide" it can be pretty fun (if they are good actors and all). Since it's so well known, everyone has to do this at least once.

Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show: Cheesy jokes, funny jokes, decent stunts. OK this is enough reason for some people to check this out. A fairly well known but well hidden and overlooked show, this is a great way to sit down and hush your puppies. See at least once. Nothing spectacular, though.

Men in Black: Alien Attack: The BEST ride at US in my opinion!! A fun interactive ride where to are in a car with up to 5 other passengers and shoot aliens and sometimes even the opposite vehicle's exhaust port for points! Unlike Buzz Lightyear at Disney, guns are attatched by only a cord, therefore shooting is easily controlled. The aliens are more realistic and the outcome is different (Are you to be a Men in Black agent or are you just Bug Bait?). Just trying to beat your personal best is enough a reason to come back and ride again! This ride can be done many many times in a row.

Back to the Future: Another "classic" at US! This rough simulator isn't for those who can't take being thrown around a bit. The plot is that Biff stole a time traveling vehicle for a joy ride. We are "Time Travel Volunteers" trying to help Doc with his newest time travel invention, however our help turns out to be more than just testing the car but also trying to capture Biff and bring him back before he causes problems with history, present, and the future. Will you succeed? I sometimes skip this ride because I've been on it alot since I was little. I like it though, when I decide to ride it.

Animal Planet Live: An oh-so-cute show with cute little animals. Enjoyed mostly by kids and their parents, any animal lover will enjoy this super-cheesy but otherwise enjoyable show. Not many teens will enjoy this except maybe teen girls who love animals.

ET: Super duper cheesy ride that kids love. Though each time you ride it, it gets a bit better. I can't explain it though. But you are taking part in the scene where Elliot and ET and his pals are on the bikes trying to escape the police. Cute.

Horror Make-Up Show: The second best show at US after Ghostbusters!! This hilarious 30 minute show features a combination of facts about horror make-up techniques and various jokes. This show is rated PG-13 for some "scary and gruesome" images onscreen and some sexual jokes. Definately worth checking into a few times!! Enjoyed by teens and adults alike. Kids may be scared and it may be inappropriate. I wouldn't recommend this show for kids even if the jokes slide over their heads.

T:3D : This is actually pretty nice for a 3D show. Based on Terminator 2 (I believe), this show is very cool. My dad's favorite thing at US. The preshow is hilarious (well, the lady is!!) and this is worth seeing at least once. Teenagers should like this (especially those who have seen the Terminator movies). Now I've heard teenagers claim this show is a bit outdated (thanks to T:3).

Restaurants:
************
These are restaurants I have eaten at. I will not give any opinion on a place I have not eaten at. Keep in mind when I like a place I usually go back and therefore do not have much variety. Sorry about that!

Hard Rock Cafe (Citywalk): Delish! Awesome atmosphere with really cool guitars hanging on the walls alongside of portraits of famous performers and TVs featuring music videos by today's artists. The employees are very kind. Food is great. Large servings. A little bit expensive (though nothing to compared to Emeril's I'm sure!!) for a meal, but not bad at all. I usually get things off the appetizer menu because they are large enough and if they have something I like there already...I'm all set! I get the Boneless Bodacious Chicken Tenders...chicken tenders in spicy buffalo sauce (YUM!!!) and a side of french fires. My parents have gotten the alfredo with shrimp (I believe) and enjoyed it a lot. A wide variety of foods ranging from salads, chicken, pasta...normal food(again, compared to Emeril's). I ask to eat here every time I go to US/IOA!!! I just love this place!!

Mel's drive-in (US): Not the best quality of food and long and slow service. Though the "look" is cool, it's just a normal Mel's Diner with overpriced food. Not really worth buying from unless getting a milkshake or something quick.

International Food and Film Festival (US): A nice restaurant near Back to the Future. Featuring American, Italian, and chinese food. I usually get just a side of sweet and sour chicken here (Me gusta pollo). Remember that you can NOT get breadsticks instead of biscuits if you get chicken! They used to allow this but for some reason had to stop. This made my mom really p/oed before because she wasn't expecting her request to be turned down (since she had done it before). I guess because chicken is from the American part and Breadsticks are from the Italian part. Oh well. A nice place to eat. Lots of space and cool posters from movies all over the walls in a variety of languages.

Comic Strip Cafe (IOA): This also offers a variety of Chinese, American, Italian and even Mexican food! It's like IOA's Film Festival restaurant over there. A very colorful dining area with enlarged somic strips. Located in the ever so colorful Toon Lagoon. Food is decent and similar to Film Festival at US.

Circus McGurkus Cafe (IOA): My parents love eating here. You can get pizza, some pasta, fries, soda, chocolate chip cookies and more here. Located near The Cat in the Hat, this is also very colorful and has a playful atmosphere with some of Dr. Suess' characters hanging from the ceiling. Food is decent but I'm a picky eater and just carry out of Buffalo Chicken from Hard Rock and meet up with my parents here.

Confiscos (IOA): We went here for dinner at about 7:30-8:00PM. It was pretty empty, which surprised me. There wasn't much TO the restaurant...nothing as far as decor goes. However, I was looking forward to trying their Buffalo chicken tenders...my current obsession :) My mom wasn't hungry but my dad got a Mushroom Swiss Burger. He liked it and I ate his fries. My parents thought it was a bit overpriced for the amount you get, however I completely enjoyed my chicken, thank you very much. I want to go back again. The waiter was friendly but I don't remember being offered a refill...and I would have needed one. oh well. I recommend it. Good food.

After the Parks are Closed:
************

Citywalk offers many things to do after the parks close.

The LOEWS cinema plays many different movies and is open late. I have gone to see a movie here a couple times and it's nice. Unfortunately, this is a LOEWS cinema and not Universal owned, therefore any drink and popcorn containers you got a Universal are NOT honored for a discount price or anything (I tried...). Oh well. Prices are decent (actually, maybe it's my town...with high prices, but student evening ticket is I believe about $5.50...the same price as adult matinee ticket in my town) Please correct me if I have the price wrong!

Clubs/Party Scene: No...I do not go to clubs or Party. It's not me. But teenagers are not allowed but they do have some teen nights where teens can get together and "party" there own way. I have never attended and don't ever plan to (again...it's not my thing) and I'm not sure when they have these events but those who have teens interested should check into it. I see many teens attend this. Loud music near the stage. Sometimes they throw out prizes (I only know this from when I was walking by). I found they do these teen events on Mondays and Wednesdays during the summer months. I do not know any more information than that.

Hotel Swimming Pools: Come on! The good ole' swimming pool located at the onsite hotels!! These pools are fantastic and are usually open until 11 PM. Even better since you can "pool hop" from one hotel to another.

Shopping: Gotta admit I love to shop and there are a few stores and side shops in Citywalk. Ranging from the cool "Quiet Flight" Store to stands where you can get your own stuffed animal, stuff it right there in front of you, and find clothes to dress it in. There are many cool things to look at.

Games: No, these are probably all rip off games like at carnivals but I'll post anyway. Many kids participate in these but the number is fewer as the evening wears on. But if you have nothing better to do, try wasting $20 until you get a small stuffed Sponge Bob or something.

Boat Rides: The water taxi rides to and from the hotels are nice and relaxing. Though I'm sure most teenagers would want something more exciting, this is nice to do sometimes. Just going back and forth on the boats.

On Command Movies: I really wanted to get a movie to watch in the room but my parents wouldn't let me, sadly, because I saw a movie at the theatre already. There are a variety of kinds of sorta recent movies and it could be nice to hang out in the hotel room and watch a movie together. Movies vary in price by a couple dollars and are a tad on the expensive side. Expect to pay about $10 - $12 easily per movie.

Feel free to post any more questions or if you want to add anything yourself.

Flyfly_Eclipse,

You did a great job giving us your teen perspective!! This information is extremely useful to me, especially because we are surprising our DS and his best friend with a trip to US/IOA in just a few days!!!!

Thank you again for sharing this information with us. You have a future in writing!!!!!!

Wow!! Great and informative reviews!:)

Especially like how you talked about pools, rides, shows, etc. and mentioned when something was "too much" for the younger set, etc. Great perspective!

We're going for 1 day to USF after our Disney 7 day cruise, staying at Portafino Bay and have DD 12, DS 9, and DD 6 so this was really helpful. thanks !

P.S. How much should we expect to spend for drinks during the day to cool off, snacks here and there? thanks again.

Very well written. You have great grammar, it sure is nice to read an article where the poster knows that there are two words in "a lot".

I think your descriptions are pretty dead on for any adventurous person whether you are 14 or 64. Keep up the great work. Watch out Kelly Monaghan!

Flyfly...... Clare!!!!!!! WOW, GREAT JOB. You answered all my questions. I appreciate all the detail you went into, it is very, very helpful!!! Thanks so much!!:jester:

Thanks very much for the insight into a "teenage mind"!! We are going to US/IOA in Sept. and taking my 2 nieces, who are 12 and 16, and also dd who is 3....dd has been once before, but my 2 nieces have never been, so these suggestions will help us out a lot in deciding what to do, where to eat etc...

Thanks for everybody's kind responses - especially those complimenting me on my writing and grammer (my mom is so proud!).''

In fact I am writing a couple books right now and have enjoyed writing for years and to see you guys recognize my "writer potential" really does make me smile and have more confidence! It's really late (11:30 PM) and I have my Girl's Day tomorrow so I have no time to post anything new nor expand on descriptions I have already given. Hopefully I'll have some fresh new ideas from coming back from the parks tomorrow!

Thanks again! :)

PS - Hilltopfamily: I will be at the park tomorrow and will check the prices before I post (to make sure I am accurate). Snacks definately add up here, as you can imagine. My parents and I usually try to pack sodas and leave them in the car (if it's a single day trip) or at the hotel room (if staying the night) to save money on drinks (with exception to meals). My mom and I are going to try to bring in some grapes to snack on throughout the park. We usually splurge on a Coke Icee or popcorn.
I'll check prices out and get back to you!!

Terrific post! It was helpful to hear about a teens view of the park.

Firefly:

You said, "Thanks for everybody's kind responses - especially those complimenting me on my writing and grammer (my mom is so proud!).''

Quick, before your mom sees, it's "grammar". Don't want to ruin this excellent reputation you now have!:p

Keep up the writing, you definitely have a way with words.

Quick, before your mom sees, it's "grammar".

Whoops!!!! :o Goes to show typos are my enemy when it comes to quickly typing something up! Besides, I was complimented on grammar not spelling! lol!

Anyway, I meant to find more information out about snack prices. I only got a chance to find out about how much soda and bottled water were at the concessions.

Sodas: Regular: $2.29 Large: $2.99
Bottled Water: Regular: $2.50 Large: $3.50

I'm typing this up from memory so I'll edit this if I am mistaken!

I'll be going back this weekend and will check out pricing on other items as well.

PS - saw Kelly's book at the Universal Studio Store when I was at the park! Very cool!

thanks for the pricing info. Looks like for a family of 5, frequent drink breaks could get expensive!!!!

Yes drinks are quite expensive! Though if you try to bring a bottle of soda with you, they may let you pass (I heard no outside drinks EXCEPT water were allowed in the park, however I brough at 24 OZ Diet Pepsi in with no problem (okay, I had it in a bag, but the security guy let me pass when he saw it!). We also keep some sodas and water in a cooler and go back to get something when we need it.

Even with just my mother and myself, she won't let me buy a drink at the park excpet for lunch and dinner meals (especially if I get the spicy buffalo chicken tenders at Hard Rock). We did splurge on a soda once because we were thirsty and it was pouring. We didn't want to have to walk all the way to the car!! :p

Fly....... could you tell me if you know, do they have refillable drinks....... and the cost for them, as well as the refill. I've seen many different things posted..... so, could you get the scoop and let me know.

Thanks!!!!!! :jester:

Thanks!!!!!! :jester:

They do have refillable cups like at other theme parks. They vary in price. I think ranging from around $5.00 to $12.00... I have the less expensive one and refills for me cost $2.12 including tax (if I remember correctly). Not too bad if you think about it. It's equivilent (spelling? lol) to a large soda...at LEAST and is much less expensive. Of course my mom doesn't feel this is worth it since I sometimes let the soda go flat and not drink it all :( Plus she doesn't like carrying it around. I better find something to create a strap for it...

Eep! I had edited my main post on August 5 and it didn't bump the thread. Guess I was used to another message board doing this. Oh well, in case people want to check out my changes or those who haven't seen it yet, here it is :)
