Teens ordering from menu

Hi, new to this site. We have a trip booked in April-getting some great tips from everyone!

I have two sons 14 and 12. I believe they are too young to order from the kids menu. Sadly they are very picky eaters. We are having lunch at Coral Reef (I have always wanted to go). Do you think they could order from the kids menu or a hot dog or something? Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Disney World restaurants are very good about letting older kids order from kids menus. At some restaurants, the portions are very small. One kind waiter advised us to order a single child's meal for our son and then if it wasn't enough, order again.

Your children may also find something that intrigues them in the appetizers. A cheaper way to sample things!

You might let them order an appitizer instead of a meal. Often that offers more variety for older kids than the little kids menu.

Hi, Hollie! I just wanted to say welcome to the DIS boards. You're going to have a terrific time at the Coral Reef. We went there for lunch last year and really enjoyed it. Be sure to order the lobster bisque. It is heavenly. In fact, it's so good that I gave a taste to my two grandkids and they ate almost the whole thing. I barely got two bites. Hmmm. You might want to order two.

They can absolutely order from the kid's menu - I did and I am 26!!
