I thought we could start a thread about favorite teen activities while visiting/living in Southern California.

Beaches, shopping, places to visit, things to do...

Let's hear about your Teen Top 10.

My niece is part of a bicycle "gang" which in theory is pretty silly but it goes along with the whole healthy living craze that kids have these days. They go on 2 hour bike trips to the beach and back. (Huntington Beach)

Balboa Island is in Newport Beach. You can either cross a bridge from PCH or take a ferry from the Balboa Peninsula. Once on the island there is shopping, lots of stores teens like and restaurants. There used to be a fun zone (bumper cars etc ) on Balboa peninsula. Don't know if it's still there. That was a major hangout when I was a kid.

The bridge to BI is very close to Fashion Island - a big shopping mall. There are restaurants and theatres.

Main Street in Huntington Beach is a fun hang out for teens. They can also learn to surf.

Knott's Berry Farm.

When we go to California, my son loves Knotts Berry Farm. He's 14. He also loves to go to Huntington Beach. It's a great place to go because there is a street you can shop on and also the waves according to my son are better to boogie board on.

I mentioned this on another thread, but Ontario Mills shopping mall off the 10 at Millken almost at the intersection of 10 and 15 is a HUGE outlet shopping mall. It is a popular teen pick up spot as well. :rolleyes1 There are many, many nice outlets there, including abercrombie and fitch, ***********, nordstrom, Saks 5th Avenue, etc, etc. There is also a Rainforest Cafe, Cheesecake Factory, a million (seriously, there probably are about a million) movie screens including an IMAX, and my favorite, a Krispy Kreme in the parking lot.

It is a teenage girls shopping heaven.

It is near the Ontario Airport and would take about 35 minutes during non-rush hour traffic.

My daughter was 14 the first time we went and 15 the second time and this visit she will be 17 and she loves Disneyland (but hates IASW, goes round with her fingers in her ears...lol) California Adventure, Knotts Berry Farm, Santa Monica, Rodeo Drive (and she HATES shopping), Beverly Hills and The Block at Orange.
She's not keen on going to the Grand Canyon (she says its "just a hole in the ground"!!) but loves Vegas.
She loves the whole "American" thing and enjoys holidays there so much more than in Europe.
Love Ella

We vacationed in SoCal the past two summers with my 19 yo DD and 17 yo DS. Their favourite things were Magic Mountain, Santa Monica, Southcoast Plaza, California Adventure, Huntington Beach and Fashion Island (PF Chang's!!!)
