Teens at Disney

Hello!
I'm new here so I'm sorry if I'm making mistakes etc or something like this has been posted before.
Well, I've been to Disney twice now but this time I'm going as a teenager in the summer, I will be 16 and I just wanted to know what is something different and more grown up for me to do at Disney? I'm really excited and I'm still like a 5 year old at heart!
Also our holiday is booked from July 6th - 20th which I hear is a busy period, any tips on how to make the most of our time? Any special events?

I'm 20 now (which sounds weird itself) but I grew up with Disney and visited year after year as I was so lucky thats what we did.

What I found was that no matter what age I was, whether it was 12, 14, 16, 18 or even now at 20, I never really found that there was something for 'older kids' or that anything that exists in the park is specified for any certain age group.

I think for teenagers its how you perceive Disney and how you feel about it. Some of my friends think its stupid but then I am in love with it and thats why I am spending my summer working there. But each person is different and personally as I said I think its more personal perception.

If there was anything I would say is more focused to teenagers it would be Blizzard Beach. I found when I was in between the older kid so maybe 16+ but too old for the small kids part we struggled for me. But that was me personally. I find Blizzard is popular on weekends with local teens as we have been and seen so many groups of friends there but hey, if I could then I would do!

I would recommend going to TrenD - a really nice shop in Downtown Disney selling Disney clothes and accessories.

Even if you don't buy anything, it's such a pretty shop just to look around in.

I'm 21 now but I've been visiting Disney throughout my childhood, I actually think I enjoy it more now but in a different way, not because anything has particularly changed in the parks but I see it from an older viewpoint, you can appreciate it for other things as well as the wonder. All my trips up until 19 had been with family, but now I go with friends and it is what you make it, each and every time something new happens!

I don't think you necessarily have to do 'grown up' stuff, just take it as it is. Even at 16 it's fun to wear Mickey hats and just have a great time!

Hello,

I have been through out my teens and I'm now 23. I love Disney world in a different way now. I appreciate the work and detail that goes in to the park. If you were interested in finding how Disney creates its rides/magic you could read "the hidden magic behind Disney world" and look for the hidden magic or you could try finding hidden mickeys. There are a few books and apps on hidden mickeys.

If you are a thrill seeker try Summit Plummit.
If your an early riser try surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon,my teenage daughter said it was the best day of her life

I teach in a local high school, and my husband teaches in another high school.

Both schools run an annual Senior Trip to WDW. Our kids LOVE it. (My school sends about 500 18 year olds; his sends closer to 400.)
