The device, called the Mosquito ("It's small and annoying," Stapleton said), emits a high-frequency pulsing sound that, he said, can be heard by most people younger than 20 and almost no one older than 30. The sound is designed to so irritate young people that after several minutes, they cannot stand it and go away.

I would LOVE one for the corner of our block where they tend to all gather!!!!

I hope they'd never use them in our town. There's just nothing for teens to do, especially ones with no money! The bowling alley is expensive. We have a skating rink, but someone new took it over and they charge something like $10 to get in, so it's no longer a good hangout. We have a local coffee shop owner who welcomes kids, but she's in the process of moving to a new building and is hardly ever open these days.

Just seems like teens aren't welcome anywhere (esp. in a small town like mine), then we wonder why they get in trouble.
