Just have to vent...WHY do teenage girls take on all the worst attributes of their friends? DD is just wonderful until she has one certain friend around. Then she's rude, hateful, disrespectful. A favorite trick is to keep asking "WHY?" in a highpitched nasty voice anytime I tell her she can't do something. I like to tell her for every "WHY?" she gets grounded for another day. Gosh, that irritates me.

She wanted to go to this friends house but she has an eye dr appointment at 6:30. I told her, fine but if you won't be home for dinner, don't expect me to stop and buy you fast food because it ain't happening. Then she said in this hurt, pitiful voice.."Oh, now you won't FEED me because you're angry with me?" That's when I said, "Why must you bust my behind this way? If you want to eat dinner with us, STAY HOME." She then just started laughing and said, "I'm sorry. You're right. Ok."

Sheesh...the simplest things become such a battle at this age.

When she turns 22 she will think you are all wise and amazing again. It's just a phase. I went through it with my mom big time. Now at almost 28 I think my mom is the coolest lady I know. :)

But at 15...

A penchant for the highly dramatic, I guess. Don't know too many 15 year old girls who don't possess this trait.

My 10 year old is going through harmones right now and acts like I did when I was 15  . I also think her "harmones" are well.... She said once "I look like a teenager, so I am a teenager". NOT YET DEAR

This is so true. I'm 24 and value my relationship (and all her wisdom) with my mom so much. I can't believe all the crap I put her through in my teen years.

we are trying to find some place to lock secret up till shes 20,, shes 12 now:) its agood thing my hair came bck in fuller after the wwreck cause i am goiung to pull it alllll out before we get her raised:)

I am trying to keep fresh in my mind the way I was at 13+ so when DD is that age I can better deal with it.

I also agree that when girls get in their 20's the relationship with their Mom changes, usually for the better. :)

wow.............makes me glad i have 4 sons.........................::yes::

Sounds like my soon to be 10 year old daughter( her brother who is 13 once made the comment- just wait until she gets her period then we are all in for it) I just know those hormones are raging right no. Lock her up for the next 10 years!!!!!!!

I fully understand what you're going though. My dd is 15 with everyone else she is wonderful, with me forgetaboutit. I don't believe in hitting, but last night I came so close. She was away for 2 weeks at her Aunts (my sis) She came home Saturday night, I had to hear how wonderful it was there and how horrible it is here. She was spoiled rotten for 2 weeks now I have to suffer.

Can I join in?

I have a 15 year old DD too. It's like someone else said, she's great with everyone else, but me - she's miserable most of the time. Moody, sulky - ugh. I want my 4 year old little girl back - you know, the one that always stuck right by her Mommy and said "I love you" and even MISSED me when I was away?;)

Went to a Youth Awards ceremony with her the other night. She does alot of community service and won a few awards for it. To hear the directors talk about her, you would believe she was the sweetest most enthusiastic teenager EVER.

Like Jekyll & Hyde she is.

My sister is 15 and I know feel terribly for everything I put my mother through in my teenage years. I'm 21 now and my mom is one of my best friends, so things definitely will turn around for you, it's just a matter of getting through the rough patch.

I know I think it is bad now but when that happens it will be worse lol. I do expect it any day now. Kids are developing much earlier now a days. At 10 I def wasn't thinking of boys and wasn't developing like mine is. Just to fast for me!I do have to be honest and say at 15 I was well....BAD.

Any of you going threw the Pre-PRE Teen thing ?

My DD 11 has been on that kick for about 6 months now. She and her little friend last week about died when I said something about them being 10. They both said " Ya right that was SO LAST YEAR LOL. MOM there is a huge difference from 10 to 11

Other DD who is 15 is just staring to come around and like me again.

I am sooo glad to read this thread & know that my 15y/oDD isn't the only one who is like that..........everyone else thinks she is WONDERFUL.......I get the cranky, crazy, waitingforherheadtospinaround child.

DD tells me ALL THE TIME..(OK READY?) Quote..."You are the parent, so you SHOULD know better".

So I tell her NO ALOT! Because I know better.
:teeth:
