Teen Mom

Catelynne and Tyler ... omg, this was the most touching episode ever watching C&T with Carly. The entire time they were together both Sat and Sun was just absolutely so wonderful. :goodvibes
The recordable book was AMAZING. Cate and Ty were just wonderful. I could watch that whole portion of TM over and over again. Carly looks just like Ty with Cate's eyes. I think somewhere deep down inside little Carly she knows there is something SPECIAL about these two that happened into her life this particular weekend. ::yes::
Even Teresa was in tears listening and watching Carly with the recordable book.
To Catelynne and Tyler, you are to be applauded!!!! They said they are not going to say "goodbye" to Carly; just "see you later" ... :sad1:

What did you all think of the number of calls April made to Cate while they were on their weekend??
I am trying to HOPE that they were calls to truly see how Cate was ... but another part of me is thinking April would hope that Cate was a crying hysterical mess and April could say something along the lines of "I told you not to give her up" or "this was not a good idea to go there to see her" ... hmmm ...

I agree, I could watch that episode over and over again too, the level of maturity from Tyler and Catelynn is amazing, and you would think maybe it wouldn't be that way knowing the environment that they grew up in (or maybe exact opposite b/c they always had to take care of themselves). They are great, I think its great that they are still together and got to meet Carly together.
I'm really not sure what April's motives were, but I think she is going to be a big pain on the special on Tuesday, I think she will constantly be defending herself for her awful behavior.

I have always wondered of Brandon and Theresa watch the show. Theresa asked her about her mom which makes me wonder if she does watch.

The look on Carly's face when they opened that book and she heard Catelynn and Tyler's voices...

Can't wait to see what Dr. Drew will say to Amber/Gary.

I have a couple things to comment on, but I think I'll start with Farrah...

I think Farrah is suffering from a mental illness. I don't say this in jest, because I have one as well, and recognize a LOT of my behaviors in Farrah. I go through periods where I have admittedly treated those I love like absolute CRAP, and then turn around as if nothing has happened. I also think that there are a lot of unresolved issues related to Derek's death: the fact that Farrah's mom doesn't seem to get the depth of her daughter's feelings for him; that Farrah feels a measure of guilt that Derek wasn't involved more during the pregnancy; that she didn't officially acknowledge until recently that Derek is Sophia's father; and many other issues. Of course, this is pure speculation, and I'm just going my own experiences and by what I saw on the show.

HOWEVER, the way she dealt with her mother and the rental house was inexcusable, IMO. Granted, I'm older than Farrah and don't have a child, but I DO live at home (job situation, which will hopefully change soon!) with a mother who is always commenting on the choices I make. I would give ANYTHING to be able to move out, especially into a house for $500/month! You can't expect to ask to be treated like any other renter "so that you get privacy", and then turn around and b**ch and moan about how your mother is charging you for moving in early, getting a credit check for you, etc. If her mom was SO awful and "didn't care about her daughter and granddaughter", she wouldn't let her move in; there's no way that Farrah would pass a credit check for that house in any other situation!

Everyone else has pretty much said what I was going to re. C&T. I really doubted them earlier in the show, with the whole "show me your phone records so I can trust you" issue, but I think both of them have matured a little bit. Giving Carly up was the best decision for that little girl; they looked at their present, and at their future, and decided that being with B&T would be much better for her. It's probably extremely difficult, what with their family life, for C&T to live more than one day at a time. Who knows what Butch or April will get themselves into?

Maci and Ryan...kudos to them for handling the whole custody situation well. I think Maci is doing the best she can; heck, she is a LOT better off than Amber or Catelynn when it comes to family situations. I keep having to remember that these moms are barely women; they were just KIDS themselves a couple of years ago! As other posters have said, you can see that she truly loves Bentley and has his best interests in mind. I think it's also admirable that she's not rushing out to find another man; she enjoys their company, but she seems to get the fact that she doesn't NEED one around.

Amber, Amber, Amber...she needs professional help, and again, I don't say that lightly. She needs to address her anger, and the underlying issues behind it. That Chris guy just gives me the creeps, and it's not how he looks or even because he has a criminal record. It's just the way they act when they're together...it seems to be moving too intensely, too quickly. I don't know...who am I to judge, right? Bu something just doesn't sit right with me. I think that if she feels the need to move on with this guy, that Gary should get Leah until Amber is straightened out a bit. Right now, it doesn’t seem like she's able to handle devoting 100% to Leah...

I just got caught up on the show the past few days.

I want to adopt poor Catelynn. Her mom is a sorry excuse for a mom. I bet Amber is a lot like that when poor Leah is a teen. I'm not crazy about Farrah's mom either.

I was on vacation last week and during some free time I watched the old 16 & Pregnant episodes with Catelynn and Maci...I remember watching Farrah's when it was first on but I didn't watch the others. Wow...Maci has really grown up! And Catelynn...I bawled watching that episode. If anyone hasn't seen them you should definitely check them out.

My son watched that with me last year. He asked why they were giving up their baby and when I said it was because they wanted the baby to have a better life, he started to cry. Oh my gosh, he cried as hard as I was crying. He then said he wouldn't have a baby when he was young because he didn't want to have to give it up:lovestruc. I love that kid. Hopefully I'm not turning him into too much of a Mama's boy.:rolleyes1

Did anyone see the last 16 & Pregnant? I felt sooo bad for that couple that gave up their baby. I honestly think they both wanted to keep it. I think her parents were waaaay too involved in that situation. Sorrry to go OT;)

Now, everytime I watch this show, even the repeats, Amber just makes me sick!!! This girl has no business being a mom! Supervised visits!

Aww, that is so sweet. I've watched a few shows with DD17 and it opened up a few conversations for us. She's gotten to see that having a baby in your teens is a lot of work (heck, growing up with Christian in the household has been one long advertisement for birth control.) And she's gotten to see how it affects teens when they choose to give the baby up for adoption. Neither is an easy choice and it's helped, I think, that she can see real people who are living with their decisions every day. It's a lot more compelling than Mom and Dad saying Just Say No.

Ok, so I am feeling sassy tonight. BUT: I want Dr. Drew to go Dan Ackroyd on Amber as if she was Jane Curtain :rotfl2: Oh how I miss back in the day saturday night live.

DH doesn't understand why I let the kids watch this, but even though my kids are younger (11 & 9), it HAS opened up conversations about sex and waiting to have sex, maturity, boys, girls, etc. I've already told them about the birds and the bees, but I think them seeing how hard having a baby is will (hopefully) keep them abstinent for as long as possible.

I'm watching The Today Show and the clip of Amber punching Gary came on the screen. Apparently, she faces criminal charges for domestic violence. WOW! My DVR recorded the reunion last night, I will watch it in a bit.

If she faces charges, they are not from the City of Anderson. According to our local newspaper, she is only being investigated. That can mean anything.

Here are my thoughts on the Dr. Drew special last night:

Maci: She is my favorite Teen Mom. She seems like she's really trying to be a better person in working with Ryan. She's also very independent and has a 'can do' attitude about being a mom at such a young age. I really hope things work out for her and Kyle.

Tyler and Catelynn: I like them both a lot. I think they made an excellent decision not to keep Carly. I can't imagine bringing that poor baby in to their chaotic life. April needs to go to anger management classes. I think she really does love her kids but she has to find another way to deal with her anger.

Farrah: For some reason she always comes across like a spoiled brat. It's like pulling teeth for anyone to talk to her and she just seems so stoic. She never admits to being wrong about anything and it's obvious to me that the whole altercation with her mom was partly her fault, even though her mom definitely shouldn't have hit her. I give her credit for going it alone...that's never ever an easy thing, but she needs to lighten up.

Amber: This girl needs some serious emotional help. Didn't it seem like she was on something last night? Her whole demeanor was just plain weird... her mannerisms and the way she was speaking came across like she was high. I DO feel bad for her. Being a mom is hard enough without doing it without much support. It's very obvious that she needs some kind of counseling because the yelling, cursing and violence has to stop. She would also really benefit from treatment for depression. I hope things get better for her.

I'm looking forward to Season 3 to see how things work out with all the girls. I hope Maci and Kyle stay together, I hope Farrah lightens up and finds a nice responsible guy, I hope Tyler and Catelynn's home life improves and I hope Amber can work out her situation. We'll just have to wait and see!

I didn't hear there was going to be a Season 3.....any truth to that????

Amber's segment on The Today Show is coming up next. Ann and Matt are not happy with the clip of Amber punching and slapping Gary.
