Traveling to Lorton to catch the auto train this morning. Heading down I95 in Delaware the overhead sign indicated I95 closed at exit 1. Luckily this is just before the rest area. We pulled off, cranked up google maps and mapped an alternate route. We ended up going back north one exit and taking some back road through to the first exit in Maryland .
It seems there was a fatal accident and when they said the road was closed what they meant was that all traffic was being kicked off the road a exit 1. From the rest area to the exit would have taken about 1 1/2 hours on I95. Out little detour only cost us about 20 minutes.
