Team Renfroe - Pre-Trip Report for May 15-22, 2009 **Final Chapter**

Yippee!! It's official! I'm so excited for you! And for me -- another great TR to look forward to! :) I'm also looking forward to the planning. I'm sure May will be here before we know it!

Yay congrats!! Can't wait to hear all about your 'official' planning now :)
Your DD + DS must be so excited!! :yay:

Good Morning Alan! How are the plans coming or are you still waiting for that May calendar ??? I,m on hold till then as I don't know which parks to do what dsay!! I only booked the basic ticket and ddp I will upgrade to Hopper butthe basic dining plan works for me !!Of course a couple of OOP!

Congrats on "officially" booking your vacation, Alan!:cool1:

I think it was a good move to go with Pop. As much as we have our favorite resorts we like to stay at, I really need to force myself to try new places every once in awhile. And, considering the great price you were getting, it seems like the perfect time for you guys to try Pop for the first time!

You've got some ambitious dining plans going on there too! Which can only mean we have some more awesome food porn to look forward to!:thumbsup2 And can I assume that you and Rusty will be enjoying PM EMH at MK the night you dine at Tony's? You'll love being in the park so late and will really get alot done! I've also noticed that Fridays have consistently been the night for PM EMH at Epcot also. That's another good one to hit! In June, Lauren and I rode TestTrack about 4-5 times in row - right up until closing at midnight. It was empty!

Yay Alan and the rest of the gang! We have officially changed our ressies to June now as well so we could take advantage of the buy 4 get 3 deal. More on that later in my ptr, probably tomorrow since I am taking the day off.
It just feels so good to actually book doesn't it? It just all of a sudden becomes more real!
I am looking forward to your plans and now since I am the month after you intead of before you I truly can steal all your ideas!:rotfl:

Hi Michele !! Yay that 4 for 3 was a good deal !! Hard to pass up !! I was lucky it was when Iplanned on going !! When in June are you going !!????

That's great! Your family must be so pumped! :woohoo: I can't wait to hear all the plans and dining reservations! I guess that means your 180-day window will be opening up soon? :thumbsup2

Wonderful! Congrats on having confirmed your next trip!! I suppose that the kids must be really excited.

Looking forward to seeing your itinerary. BTW, Those are great savings!!

Regards,

Luis

Hi Luis! Oh yes, I think we are ALL excited! We just had to take advantage of that great package while it lasted.

We are enjoying your trip report also!

Hi Christine! :wave2: I hate to be wishing my days away...but maybe the next 175 days will go by fast! :cool1:

Yay congrats!! Can't wait to hear all about your 'official' planning now :)
Your DD + DS must be so excited!! :yay:

Oh yes, DD & DS are excited....but honestly, I think DW and I may be MORE excited! We get the warm and fuzzies just thinking about all those great meals we have to plan!!

Hey Rosie! Like you, I am still waiting and watching for those May hours. I hope to have our itinerary pretty much put together before Dec. 22nd, which is the supposed date that we'll be able to make ADRs.

Congrats on "officially" booking your vacation, Alan!:cool1:

Hi Cammie! :wave2: We are excited about trying the POP. From what we have read on these boards, I think it will fit our situation just fine. Hopefully no one will get sick on this trip and we won't be in the room that much anyway.

Oh, you just KNOW that there will be some food porn to look forward to!! We have changed our minds about a few of our selections and I will post our latest thoughts in another post. Ambitious? YES! Nice way of putting it!

You bet that Rusty and I will be conquering a PM EMH at MK. We will probably ride Space Mountain again and again and again! On the Epcot PM EMH, I'll bet we won't be able to take advantage of that....if it falls on Friday night. We will be arriving on a Friday night around 11pm, and we leave the following Friday.....so, I guess we'll do the AM EMH at Epcot and try to ride Test Track as many times as we can!

We are enjoying your TR! I am going to make a post with the links to all of my friends' trip reports so that other readers on this thread can follow along.

Exciting news Alan!!!!:thumbsup2

Hi Kathy!! We are loving it! :cloud9:

Hi Michelle! I think you all made a good decision by changing to June and taking advantage of the deal. You are right, it just feels good to have the trip booked and to KNOW for sure we are locked in!

Yep, we are now in the 180-day window, but they are not taking reservations for May until Dec. 22nd is what I have been told (except for Chef Mickey's, CRT, and Victoria & Alberts.) I do intend to make our Chef Mickey's reservations today.

Since we are now within our 180-day window, I called Disney Dining and got our first ADR for Chef Mickey's at 8:05am on Wednesday, May 20th! Just to confirm what everyone else has been posting, I asked the CM when I would be able to make other reservations and she said it would be Dec. 22nd.

One down, about 20 to go!! :woohoo:

WooHoo! That's a tough one to get - good for you!

And that was so nice of you to post links to all of our trip reports! Thanks!:flower3:

Good for you Alan ! I amdoing Chef Mickeys in Sept. with the gang ! If they have free dining we plan to upgrade to deluxe !! So will be trying some of the 2TS ones .My DSIL def. wants that Lobster at Narcosses !! Our friend wants Brown Derby but looking at the menu I'm not sure for the kids , they are NOT adventurous eaters like your kids !! I can't wait to be able to book my adrs !!!!

Hey, I just came across your post on another thread and noticed you had a PTR. I read through your TR last summer and really enjoyed it. Glad you're making it back for another year. It's so true what you say about how your kids will only be this age once. I too love the beach and grew up vacationing on Mexico's beaches. I'm determined to add a few nights on the beach to our next trip at Disney. Seems like the best of both right.:confused3 I'm subbing!

No problem, Cammie. I just want my thread pals to enjoy the great trip reports and pre-trippies I've been reading! We are very much enjoying your report from your latest trip. We've never been to BW, but your pictures are making me want to go! We plan to eat at Flying Fish this time....so that will give us a great excuse to visit BW. :cool1:

If you are doing some 2TS, Narcoossee's is great! Ordering the Whole Maine Lobster really makes you feel like you are getting your money's worth on the Deluxe Dining!

I would really like to have the Cobb Salad at Brown Derby, but I don't feel like it would be worth 2TS. I could pay out-of-pocket, but since we are on the Deluxe Dining plan, I feel like that would be wasteful......God knows we will have PLENTY to eat, right?

I don't know how adventurous our kids are with eating after all. DD is getting extremely picky and DS keeps saying that he did all of his experimenting on our last trip. (But don't worry....DS will be ready to try new things by the time May gets here!)

YAY!!! pmama from Colorado is here! Welcome to our pre-trip thread! So glad you found us.

I'm glad you know exactly what I mean about our children being just the right age for a great family trip to WDW. DS will consider himself too old and too cool for Disney within the next few years. I can't believe how much he has matured since our trip in May!!! :scared1:

That is a GREAT idea about combining your Disney trip with a few days at the beach. We love the beach! But for this upcoming year, we are placing all of our vacation eggs in the Disney basket!!

I just bought a great book on eBay this week - It is called "From Redneck Riviera to Emerald Coast - a history of the Florida Panhandle" by Hollis. Great read!!! For me, (someone who has spent a lifetime going on vacation in Panama City Beach or Destin, Florida,) this book provides great nostalgia!

Glad you are subscribing and welcome aboard!

Alan

Hey. I finally finished reading! I will be at pop century in may with my two teens. It will be from May 22-29. I may have to check out some of these places you reviewed. Have a great night.

Hey! I don't konw if you'd be interested or not, but I found a great Refridgerator swap for May 16-22. It is totally free! As of right now, your dates are available for swapping the fridge. In other words, I would be handing the fridge off to you and you would pass along to the next person on May 29th (or whatever.) Just let me know!!

Go to the Budget Board and check for Pop fridge swaps, then check them out ,find the one Alan is on and post you are interested and pm the OP . How they work is ....Someone buys a fridge and has it delivered after geting between 8 - 10 people to chip in about $10 they all get the date sthey want first. Then the fridge is paid for and everyone who signs on after pays nothing . You either do a person to person swap or you p/u or d/o at Luggage! It saves you $12 a day !!
