Hello cousins!
I'm still under the weather, and now DOOD is sick. (Of course, sick for DOOD means he's sure he can run this weekend, just not sure he can run 20 miles. I hate him.

)
This weekend we have the following:
Corinna: The Bear River Crawl, 5K
Mel: Hugs to you and your whole family for the passing of Tigger. You've done a very loving thing, ending his pain. I know you're hurting, and hope you can remember the good years you had with him.

And I'm glad your MRI has given you the okay to keep running. At least it will help you manage the stress.
Jen: Oh, what a difficult decision to have to make with Sadie. Like with Mel's situation, I know you'll do the humane thing. I'm just sorry Sadie's suffering with a tumor and that you have to make such decisions. We all love our pets so much that it hurts to think of them in pain. Let me know if there's anything I can do? We have pet-food bakeries here. Would Sadie like some treats?
Corinna: Congratulations on your 4th of July run. I love how you go after your goals with gusto. Set your sights on the 10 miler and conquered it. And you left your goal in the dust.

The TC 10 miler should be a good race and I can't wait to hear your plans for that one. And for DL, of course!

Thanks for the offer to borrow your Garmin. DOOD has made the same gracious offer, and it doesn't require an extension cord. Strangely enough, though, I want my own.
Mike: You'll always be one of my heroes. Especially if you promise to wear a cute little skintight costume. Think of it as especially modest running tights.
Richard: I for one don't think there's ever enough ice cream in one's life. I think they should offer it at the water stops. Except then I'd never finish.

An ice cream might be what I need to tempt me into a Summit Plummet. But that would require me owning a bathing suit, wouldn't it? Not great at massages, although I do flick a pretty mean towel.

I'm generally in favor of an afternoon time and 3 p.m. sounds pretty good to me.
Jackie: Hill work is haaaaarrrrrrd. A personal nememis. Your pace was excellent, too! Oh, and thanks for offering to send messages about my Garmin wishes to DOOD. If I thought he'd listen.... (Seriously, he doesn't buy me running/athletic goodies anymore, not since I actually started running. Before, he'd surprise me with that kind of thing to "encourage me." Now that I've taken the hint....

He's so persnickety!)
Julie: Now, see, you're a savvy shopper. New Garmin and a new sweetie, and one who comes with a discount for the farmer. Very smart, very convenient. I like it.

I've been really back about doing Pilates myself. Or should I say really good at not doing Pilates. And I can tell in my core. That's one thing I absolutely cannot let fall by the wayside this year. So I'll have you (and Jackie) hold me accountable, okay?
Where are you booked for the marathon, btw? (Y'all are making me feel like I'm the last one NOT booked. Just like last year.

)
Maria: Bob or beach, Bob or beach. Well, considering you only get to see Bob in 2-D, I think you made the right decision! And it sounds as if you had a great time. How frustrating about the TM, though. Your time at DTD sounds like tons of fun, though I admit I hadn't heard about Tren-D. And I'm so proud of you for enjoying your time at Rainforest but not gorging yourself at Ghiradelli's, instead choosing the more reasonable pretzel rod & saving it for later!

I'm really looking forward to the next part of your covert TR, as it's been YEARS since I've been to Universal. P.S. Your son's reading taste reminds me a lot of mine at his age.
Jeanne: Oh, I like the idea of an ice cream and imbibe party! Why choose which sin to enjoy. Go for both! (Or is that go for broke? Very fitting for the marathon weekend at Disney.) How's the NYC marathon training going? Wedding planning? Are we going to hear about the Greek's romantic (I'm sure) proposal? To your DD, of course, for those who got lost in the story.
To JenB, JenG, Kathy, Sunny, Denny, Robert, Linda, Christa and Nancy! Hi cousins!
I'm liking the idea of a margarita-flavored ice cream. A little lime, a little tequila, maybe some triple sec... But Julie's got me pegged. A bourbon ice cream, with chocolate chunks. Mmmmmm.... Of course, now I know why Aloha Jeff says he runs to eat.
As for me: Too busy with mundane things that eat up my time: writing/editing projects, doctor's appointments, sleeping 12 hours a day, cleaning my entire place because I can't find something I'm looking for? (Don't you just hate how not being able to find one thing can set off that chain of events?) At least lots of things are going to Goodwill.
In other news, has anyone here read
Finger Lickin' Fifteen by Janet Evanovich yet? I'm number 270 on the local library wait list.

In the meantime, I've finally started Neal Stephenson's
***********, the first in his Baroque Cycle series. Our library, like so many others, is looking at budget cuts this year. I'm attending an informational meeting next week to see what's being planned. We really rely on our library for lots of things, so I'd hate to see anything cut. We saw
Julie and Julia, Woody Allen's
Whatever Works and
Harry Potter, too. Next week we see previews of
The Ugly Truth and
G-Force.
Next time I log in, which will hopefully be this weekend, I will have a working draft of my Dopey training. I'm really thinking I won't do B2B LRs every weekend. I don't know if I can take it, mentally at least, and think I'll need at least a few weekends which are just one LR. Officially I'm in training for Baltimore, so am even toying with delaying the start of the B2B runs until after that.
