Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

OMG I can breathe!!!!!!

About an hour ago was the first time in 2 weeks I could breathe out of my nose.
Now if I could just not be winded going up the stairs or getting dressed.
I hope to be back on the fitness track soon. And my food plan. Up to this point I ate anything that didn't taste like cardboard, which wasn't a whole lot.

I can't wait to get back in the game!

QOTD Monday 1/13 - I think we have all realized that we all need help and support on this journey. Who is the biggest help/hindrance on your journey?

Sunday 1/12 QOTD So, everywhere I look it is a red, heart, sweets, food 'bloodbath'! I know a lot of people have plans & it's a big holiday for many. HOW will you stay on track??

We're going to be at Disney Monday and Tuesday and coming home Wednesday. We have lunch reservations on both of those days. I'm going to eat breakfast here before we leave in the morning. Then we'll head over to the resort and check in. We have a reservation at Tony's at 2pm. Then we'll probably do something light for dinner either at the resort or somewhere else on property.

Then Tuesday I'll get something light for breakfast, lunch at Sci Fi, and whatever we decide to do for dinner. We tend to do a lot of walking while we're there so I won't really worry about workouts. The walking usually is enough for me.

We went to Wally World after mom got home and picked a few things up. I completely forgot to get Alan a card for Valentine's Day. We picked up a bottle of champagne to take with us to the resort. He said he has to get up early in the morning to run a few errands before we leave. I'll more then likely go with him so I can get him a card.

We got home tonight and went to take the chicken out to cook it and it was bad. So we had some leftovers. I was still hungry so I made a sandwich. I bought a Lesile Sansome (sp) DVD pack at Wally World that also included the resistance bands. I'm going to start that probably later in the week after we get back.

QOTD Monday 1/13 - I think we have all realized that we all need help and support on this journey. Who is the biggest help/hindrance on your journey?

The biggest help on my journey is planning. I meal plan and exercise plan and its helped keep me on track. Sparkpeople is also a huge help between the food tracking, exercise videos, and support I receive there.

The one hinderance I have on this journey is myself. Some days I just sabotage myself and wind up kicking myself in the butt after the sucky decisions I make. I'm my worse enemy.

Everyone have a great night! I'm off to throw some clothes in a bag and head to bed.

Good Morning! I'm getting ready to head out to the gym and it is freezing outside! So hard to get going this morning but this week is back on track so no excuses.

QOTD Monday 1/13 - I think we have all realized that we all need help and support on this journey. Who is the biggest help/hindrance on your journey?

My biggest help is also my biggest hinderance: my family. My husband is great because he doesn't complain about me coming home late or leaving super early and leaving him with a big bulk of the daily routine. He finds was to let me know he thinks I'm doing good job and that is very motivating. On the other hand, he doesn't think twice about showing up with horrible, tempting foods. Also on cold mornings like today he's the first one to say you should just stay in bed. So yes he tries but sometimes he forgets.

Have a great day all!

HI EVERYONE!!!!

I'm officially a member of Team Mickey and I am SO excited!

I have to go to my Ornithology class and then I will come back and tell you guys a few things about me!

Btw...is there anything I need to do?

QOTD Monday 1/13 - I think we have all realized that we all need help and support on this journey. Who is the biggest help/hindrance on your journey?

Good morning!

My biggest help is my kids & hot tea.

The kids keep reminding me if I want to go off plan.

The hot tea is my go to "snack" now. Like last night, I wanted to munch and instead I go to my pantry and pick a hot herbal tea. I bought a TON of variety to choose from.

Hindrance? My dh with his random junk food binges and lack of planning when you are running around. Now I am getting better with choosing though. Like last night, I order water or tea instead of soda.

This week is BACK ON TRACK and NO EXCUSES!!! :yay: I am going to do some planning this morning.

:wave2:

Good Morning Mickeys!!

Been really busy and haven't been on my computer much the last few days. I was up way too early (for me!) this morning.

Didn't have a good On Plan week last week with Friday being the worst. On top of several cupcakes  we went out to Carrabbas for dinner. Both kids were at other activities and we had some gift cards we have been dying to use, so it was also our Valentines Day gift. I was ready to just throw low carb to the wind and pig out on pasta. The funny thing is that I didn't! I did eat bad but it was primarily the bread and oil and some cheese sticks. I ordered a Caesar Salad but didn't like it so only had a few bites and I decided to try something new-- a Ravioli with chicken, cheese and spinach and it was yechy. Not really their fault it just wasn't a dish I liked-- the taste of onion was overpowering. I think I ate maybe 3 of them and brought the rest home for DD16. She likes onion and even she said it was too much. But it kept me from pigging out too bad!

I am a maintain for this week which I expected. But I am going to try to lose 2 pounds this week to make up for it. It is going to take some major will power and self discipline. I told the family to expect light meals this week.

Saturday DD16 and I had a mom and daughter day and went to a large church yard sale and then 2 thrift stores and out to lunch. I bought a few shirts but really needed jeans. In fact when I was trying the shirts on DD looked at my jeans and said "Mom, MC Hammer called and he wants his pants back!" But I couldn't find any in the size I need. I am in that really bad spot where the bigger size is too big but the smaller size is just about an half inch away from buttoning. So I really would like to get 5 pounds down so they will fit.

So I spent several hours on Sunday going through some boxes of old clothes in smaller sizes. Found several shirts that fit and a few pair of jeans that are pretty close. I think I also found a actual pair of MC Hammer's pants! Some of the stuff in those boxes is going to need to get donated or used by my girls for Retro 80's day at school!

DH told me to just go buy some jeans but I am just way to cheap to pay $20 or more for jeans that I hope to only wear for a few months.

QOTD Monday 1/13 - I think we have all realized that we all need help and support on this journey. Who is the biggest help/hindrance on your journey?

The biggest hindrance is me! But DH has been an amazing support. He does a lot of the cooking so it is great that he is behind me 100% and is really doing his best not to lead me off track.

:welcome: So glad you are here. You've just landed in the most supportive group of people you will ever find! Get ready for an amazing experience! You send your weight each Friday to dvccruiser76 and your Healthy Habits (weekly HH that we track) to cclovesdis. You can also send your measurements once a month to buzz5985. Is that right, everyone? All you need to do is remember the group is here for you! We all have good days and bad days and the group is always here.

Welcome to Team Mickey!

Awesome! Your kids help you out! That is great, and a great role model for them. I think our kids want to know that we are doing healthy things for ourselves. Good for you!!!!

QOTD Monday 1/13 - I think we have all realized that we all need help and support on this journey. Who is the biggest help/hindrance on your journey?

The biggest help is my online support - this group, a group on facebook and Dr. Oz ShareCare page.
My biggest hinderance is myself...oh, and pizza (LOL!).
Happy Monday morning Mickeys!
Hitting the gym tonight. Anyone have a good workout I can try so that I am not just doing my "usual"?

Good morning, Mickeys!

I've been OP for food this week, but I haven't exercised since Wednesday. Ugh. I have been so under the weather (sore throat, cough, general tiredness) that I couldn't get myself to get moving outside of the obligations we already had. So there's my excuse, but I'll stand by it. I'm not quite back to 100% yet, but I am going to do a Ripped in 30 workout this morning to see where things stand with my energy and strength levels. The hardest times for me to exercise are when I've been away from it for a while, so I think the key is to just start doing it again, even if I'm not totally 100%. If you don't hear back from me later today, call out the cavalry! ;)

I'm really behind on QOTDs, too, but I'll say that my biggest helps are this group and my WW group. DH is a help, too, but he's usually more worried about being perceived as a nag or a pest about it. :) My biggest hindrance is my sweet tooth...if I give myself an inch, I'll often take a mile. Also, until recently, I've been really bad about regular exercise. That's been a lot better lately thanks to this group, but I can feel that slide away from it with the least excuse! So here goes...

So, I'm new, as you all know.

My name is Missy but all of my friends have adopted the nickname A.B. for me. You are welcome to do the same. I'm a 22 year old Herpetology and Taxonomy of Herpetofauna double major at Arkansas State University.

I'm a Disney freak who has been forced to lay dormant with her obsessions until now, because of school and living with my parents. Now, I am letting loose, thanks to a best friend that I made from the U.K. She is also a Disney addict and we share a lot of common interests, making us more like sisters, than friends.

I'm taking my first trip to Disney World in October 2012. I have been to the parks before, but the trip was all skimming through. My uncle basically dictated what he thought we would like. I didn't have much fun. I'm taking myself and my DH (we're actually engaged, but who counts that!) Wesley, and we're meeting my best friend and her mom at the All Star Music Resort.

So, enough rambling about me.

Basically, I'm a bikini freak and a sundress loving person. So, my goal is to lose 50 pounds before we hit Disney World. I'm currenty enrolled in weightwatchers online, and now I'm a member of Team Mickey!

I hope to get some encouragement...the last week has been tough to stay on track.

Enjoy Disney! Sorry about the chicken. I love WATP DVD's even though I don't do them often. I truly believe that I, too, am my own worst enemy in this!

Glad you are getting better. Hang in there! Take it slow & you will be back in no time.

Love your major! You goal is a very good one! You CAN do this!

Welcome, AB! You're going to love this group. Everyone's so supportive, and they've all helped me stay the course on my own journey. :cool1:

I survived my re-entry to exercise today! It was amazing how four days off felt like so much longer. I did a Jillian Ripped in 30 workout (week 3), and while I could barely stand up at the end, I made it. I'm actually pondering going back to my Monday night Zumba class tonight, and yet I'm not sure I should push it that hard yet...

Dinner tonight is from the freezer (my most recent Let's Dish session) - it's sesame apricot chicken with rice. I'm holding the rice and going double veggies on my portion, but the whole thing looks really good. And I love how easy these are to throw together!

DD7 is at piano a few doors down right now, and DDalmost5 is next to me on the couch looking at her new magazine that came in the mail today. I have a bit of work to knock out before watching for DD7, and then it's time to start dinner. Hopefully DH is home soon!

Today has been a BAD day for me. Food, life, etc.

DS25 still hasn't begun to look for a job, his phone is shut off for non-payment so I stopped by where he is living to let them know I am trying to get ahold of him. They told me he is there only to sleep in the day, out all night, got in at 7 this morning. And, they told me he gets overdraft notices every day and tossed me today's. He is overdrawn almost $950! and his phone bill & reinstate is $127 - of the $3100 total he got out of his 401k to last until he gets a job - and he has applied for FOUR in 6 weeks.

So then I made the mistake of calling DH who: #1 yelled at me for opening DS25 mail. #2 told me he won't make the decision to not pay any and all DS25 bills and be responsible for him being homeless & dealing drugs again. So, again, I am STUCK with DS25 running the family(as it affects all of us). And we will be paying his rent(DH won't tell him he has to move home since unemployed), utilities, gas, car payment, insurance, phone, etc., on top of all our own bills - while he spends anything he has on who knows what.

GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!! And if I argue, DH says I don't love DS25, never has, etc.

So, I did fine at breakfast, then all this - I ate cottage cheese/fruit, popchips, salsa - then I lost it with Rolos & baked tostitos & a WW 3 pt bar. So I undid about a weeks worth of progress instantly.

Thanks for letting me vent - sorry I had to, again.......which is why I don't post a bunch on here, life gets me WAY too stressed.

Julie,

AB, :welcome:

I've been reading along, but don't have that much to say! Got waaayyy off track yesterday and ate about half a pan of turtle cake! :confused3 mmmmm so good. Today I'm resisting it!

I got my walk in with my walking partner (3 miles) and later went for a run (2.5 miles). My legs are done! Today was a furlough day for the school district so no subbing for me. Should have done so much more than I did. Saw a fellow I work with a lot when I dashed to Costco. That was fun. Finally got to meet his wife!

Better go be productive! Have a super evening, Mickeys!

QOTD Monday 1/13 - I think we have all realized that we all need help and support on this journey. Who is the biggest help/hindrance on your journey?

My WISH BL and myfitnesspal friends are my biggest support! I also have a friend trying to lose weight. My parents are definitely my biggest hindrance. My mom is terrible. She even decided that I am not gluten intolerant a few days ago. (I feel you Julie. Familiy drama has been impacting me too.)

DH told me to just go buy some jeans but I am just way to cheap to pay $20 or more for jeans that I hope to only wear for a few months.

I know! I had to buy a pair of khaki pants and they were almost $30. :scared1:

:welcome: So glad you are here. You've just landed in the most supportive group of people you will ever find! Get ready for an amazing experience! You send your weight each Friday to dvccruiser76 and your Healthy Habits (weekly HH that we track) to cclovesdis. You can also send your measurements once a month to buzz5985. Is that right, everyone? All you need to do is remember the group is here for you! We all have good days and bad days and the group is always here.

Welcome to Team Mickey!

Awesome! Couldn't have said it better myself! :cool1:

My name is Missy but all of my friends have adopted the nickname A.B. for me. You are welcome to do the same. I'm a 22 year old Herpetology and Taxonomy of Herpetofauna double major at Arkansas State University.

I hope you find us as encouraging as I do! I love Team Mickey! We will be merging with Team Donald soon and they are a wonderful group too!

And, what exactly does your major mean? :confused3

Well, it's been an interesting last few days. The mom drama has been a blast. :rotfl2: I am so far off plan I can't describe it. I promise tomorrow will be a better day. First, I will have a soda-free day. I will also drink plenty of water. My other goal is to go to the gym.

To tomorrow!

Biggest Loser Fall Challenge Week 6!
This week’s group loss = 24.0 pounds!
Average percentage of weight lost 0.41 %
Total group weight loss so far 309.9 pounds!

AWESOME!

Retention Rate (compared to the 72 participants we had sign up for our start week on January 1st)
47% (this includes the Losers, Maintainers and Excused people!). Let's keep sending those weights people!

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 6?

The WISH Biggest Loser Spring Challenge Team Mickey Week 6 Superstars!!
#10 - 0.78% - aamomma
#9 - 0.90% - cclovesdis
#8 - 1.11% - Friend of a Mouse
#7 - 1.22% - Sunshineminnie
#6 - 1.36% - KDIPIAZZ
#5 - 1.38% - KristiMc
#4 - 1.43% - goldcupmom
#3 - 1.77% - RutgersAlum
#2 - 1.90% - tiki23

and now
The WISH Biggest Loser Team Mickey Spring Challenge Week 6 Biggest Loser is:
#1 - 2.05% - 50sjayne

Quote from Dare2Dream: How is your week going? Are you OP (on program)? Are you exercising? Drinking that water? You know what to do to make the magic happen. Get on the wagon. We are all here to help you on the journey. We can do this one day at a time. One bite at a time.

Have a healthy day!
Congratulations 50sjayne!!!
