Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

Good morning, Mickeys! Friday at last!!

Today is going to be one of 'those' days, I'm afraid. Need to go to the vet to pick up Sashi's meds (the husky) for her 'relaxation incontinence'. The won't let me order them thru 1-800petmeds, so have to pay their jacked up price or the poor girl 'leaks' when she sleeps- & she is only 4.

My big dilemma is figuring out what type of Dr. To call for dd20s tiny pinprick bleeding dots on her arms. She seems to think she is getting more. But, with a 3k/pp deductible before our insurance kicks in, I really don't want to dr. Hop & run a gazillion unnecessary tests. Fun, fun!

On a positive note, I got notice of a scoring job for April yesterday.

Haven't weighed yet, not 100% sure I want to!

Hope today is off to a decent start for everyone!

Morning Mickeys!

I apologize for not getting on here yesterday. I had a pretty busy day and I didn't accomplish very much. I did find my missing item and it was not in my car. :headache: I had lost the keys to my PO box and they were at the post office. :headache: Oh well. The car looks much better now. I also went to the gym and got in a decent workout. I still need to drink more water, especially after I workout. I did a quick trip to Whole Foods for some more GF/oat-free granola and then had someone to meet. Breakfast has been 1/2 cup of GF Chex (corn? :confused3-I just look for the words "gluten free") and 1/4 cup of granola. That is 1/2 serving of each and it works out well calorie wise. I have it in a bowl with a whole cup of milk. It ends up beeing a good amount of protein and not too bad on the carbs. The Chex has 240 mg of sodium per cup, which I think is ridiculous for an otherwise healthy cereal, so having 1/2 a cup is practical in multiple ways. The granola has almost no sodium in it, which is good.

I don't have much planned for today. My mom is likely taking a 1/2 day, depending on if she finishes something. I will spend some time job searching. I may or may not work on a free class I can take. If my mom comes home early, I will probably not fit it in for the day. I hope I find the time. I might be able to work in an hour long one. (Some of them are 2 hours or more.)

Have a great, OP day everyone! No excuses!

So, QOTD 2/10 - Since February is Valentine's & Cupid's favorite holiday, who is your favorite Disney 'couple'? QUOTE]

AOTD: Being single, I hate this time of year. I hope that the people I love know that I love them 24/7/365! But I digress....couples....Disney.....hmmm, Chip and Dale! Brothers that enjoy spending time with each other and always have each others back!!! (if I had to go romantic couple, Belle and the Beast, because it was more about what is on the inside).

Lara, I've been married almost 30 years, and I agree with you...I HATE this time of year, too!

For me, it's a toss up....Belle/Beast, Pongo/Perdita.

Not an excuse but it is. anyway...... I am sooooo sick!!! Bronchitis. It bites!!!!

Gonna go lay down before I have to take the kids to Basketball and Curriculum fair. Just wanted to let you know that I'm not dead.

Since I'm in the Mountain time zone, and later than many of you, I'm posting tomorrow's QOTD now. I likely won't be online until many of you are at work.

So, QOTD 2/10 - Since February is Valentine's & Cupid's favorite holiday, who is your favorite Disney 'couple'? Personally, I've got to think on this one as I have a few to consider!

Have a great Friday! Those of you in Snow or bad weather, be safe!

Get out and MOVE!!!! Or move inside!

One of my favorite quotes, but I don't know to whom I should give credit -

"The thumping inside your chest when you exercise is your heart applauding!"

The above was typed by my big goofy cat who doesn't understand why my lap won't house 2.

Sally and Jack. Love that quote BTW.

Well, I'm down 3 pounds today, was hoping for 4 but I'll take 3. Think I'm going to switch my scales batteries--it's been awhile.

A big BL congratulations to all our WIN!ners! :cool1:

Thanks, CC, for coaching this week! :goodvibes And welcome to our new coach, Julie! :cool2:

Buffy, hope that you are feeling better soon!

Lots of sick folks on both threads lately -- it's okay to rest and take care of yourself as part of a healthy lifestyle! :flower3:

Is there a "Like" button here on the DIS? Seriously, one of the most motivational posts I've read. :thumbsup2 WTG on the 12 minute mile, WOW!

Great feedback! :thumbsup2 That's one of the nice things about the WISH boards.

CC, love the HH! Recycling is a recognized hallmark of a BL challenge so no worries! :goodvibes

My girlish self would have said Prince Charming and Cinderella really I think that was more about Cinderella's clothes. My more pragmatic romantic mature self says Bud and Lucille Robinson -- Lewis' parents -- they still had fun amidst the chaos of crazy family life. :cool2:

Tracey, enjoy your busy week-end. :thumbsup2

I am so thankful to have found the WISH thread and this challenge. It came when I truly needed it!

And we are so glad that you found us, too! You are always so positive and motivate everyone! :flower3:

Kristina, sounds like a fun get away! :thumbsup2

Woo hoo on the scoring job, Julie! :woohoo:

I totally hear you on the deductible thing -- when I fell before the Tinker Bell all I could think of was that my $5,000 had just started over. :sad2:

As someone who didn't get married until they were 33, I can totally sympathise with this! :flower3:

Susan, congrats on your loss this week!

I'm down 1.5 since last weigh in -- same as earlier this week! :goodvibes

And if you want to share my 1 second of fame with me, I am the person in the WISH shirt on the right at 1:45 of this RunDisney video about the Tinker Bell Half. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga-qnfitWkY

Afternoon ::MickeyMo

I got on the scale and mentally thought, "Bummer, I didn't lose anything." That is until I went to look back through my sent PMs to DVCcruiser and realized I'm down a pound .

Everyone in the house (mom, Alan, me) were all up til about 5am this morning. We all were just wired on sugar and playing around on our laptops. I was going back and forth between Farmville and Words with Friends with my mom. I woke up around 11:30ish and couldn't find Alan anywhere. I finally got hold of him and he told me he was at the pool place up the street.

We're going to have salmon for dinner with veggies. I'm getting ready to put my 30 Day Shred in and use it. I'm shooting to do 30 days of it. Everyone have a great day! Its cloudy here and its sprinkled on and off.

My Yorkies are the same way. Got a new desk chair with not as much 'seat' room and my Mia doesn't have room behind me anymore. She sits and stares at me and cries. Silly pets! But we love them!

Congrats on a loss! Salmon & veggies for dinner sound YUMMY! I've been thinking of digging Shred out & starting again. Last time, toward the end of the middle section, I pulled a stomach muscle and quit.

Trying to talk myself into heading to the gym for my every other day 5k. I REALLY don't want to today, but must at some point. Guess it's better to get it over with.

More later!

Hi everyone! It's been a really bananas week - our Board of Trustees was meeting and, on top of my usual work for that, I was covering for someone on medical leave, so I was just insanely busy. I stayed on plan with food, but I couldn't keep up with exercise. I got some in on Monday and Wednesday, and I think I'll be able to get back into the swing of things this weekend.

QOTD Catchup:

My biggest excuse - I'm too tired! I fell like I never get enough sleep, and even though I do best when I exercise first thing in the morning, I have such a hard time getting out of bed on not enough sleep. Ideally, I'd just start getting more sleep, but that never seems to actually happen.

Favorite Disney couple - Hmmm...probably Rapunzel and Flynn. My girls (and I) love Tangled, so I think I see them the most at the moment. It'll change, I'm sure! I also love Gisele and Whatshisface from Enchanted. :)

I was up a smidge this week, but after a big loss last week, I'm definitely not beating myself up over it. Tomorrow night is our church's annual auction (our major fundraiser), and there will be TONS of good food and wine. I have to make sure I eat enough beforehand that I don't go in starving but still leave myself some good points for the evening!

My non-scale victory for the weekend is that the slinky red dress I wanted to wear tomorrow night not only fits again - it's actually a little too big!!

XO
Liz

Today was much better than other days lately. I was really OP until dinner. Dinner was healthy, but I didn't watch my portion size well enough and overdid it. The worst part is that I am still hungry. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that. I'll have to think about it. I didn't exercise today either. Hmm.

I spent some time job searching today. I also spent a lot of time creating a list of the online classes I'd like to take. I found a lot and will spend some time tomorrow prioritizing them. Hoping to complete a class tomorrow as well.

My other plan for tomorrow is to get the Healthy Habits results posted. I use a spreadsheet and then transfer the info to Word and then to the Dis. It is really easy, but I always feel better doing it when I have no time constraints, just in case (knock on wood) the Dis has a moment. ;)

The weather report is predicting one of my least favorite (4-letter) words tomorrow: snow. It's pretty, but it would be so much better if it didn't stick to the roads. :rotfl2:

Thanks for coaching this week Julie!

Have a great, OP day tomorrow everyone!

Congrats! And super cool to be in the video! That's awesome! One of our own is in an official runDisney video! YAY!!! That is so cool! :cool1::thumbsup2

Okay, so that salmon dinner went out the window. We ordered Pizza Hut. I was OP for the day until dinner. I had 3 pieces of pepperoni pizza and a cheese stick. Then I had two M&M cookies. Yeah, so my calorie count for the day was 2,035! :scared1:

I did 30 Day Shred and had a hard time at moments because my mom had be cracking up laughing. She's got issues with her knees so I doubt she'll do that workout again with me anytime soon. I told her to modify stuff if she can't do it. For example, I can't do jumping jacks so I either march or run in place. This way at least I'm still moving. My pedometer reported that I burned 72 calories in 20 minutes, not to shabby if you ask me :).

I'm not really sure what plans are for tomorrow. My mom is borrowing a vehicle and going out of town to visit friends and her aunt. I know I want to get to Wal-Mart and pick some things up for our two nights at BLT. I want to get a bottle of champagne and stuff to make chocolate covered strawberries.

At least you were OP throughout the whole day until dinner, and you've already posted here and you're back on track! And 2,035 isn't that bad. When I fall off the wagon I have a tendency to kind of not want to know how many calories or points it was. That is awesome that you keep track of how much the overage was. And good for you for getting your mom involved in the workout, too! That is wonderful! I can't seem to get my family members who need to to work out at all! But I keep reminding myself that just because I'm motivated doesn't mean they are!

Your trip to BLT sounds amazing! And that's so cute you're making chocolate covered strawberries! Have a blast!!!

Hi everyone! Just a quick checkin to my teammates, I may not post a lot, but you guys are a great motivating group and I like to read your posts when I can. I lost a pound this week, not a lot, but something. I woke up at 3 am a little hungry, but am waiting until after I get on the treadmill to eat. Yeah, it's 4:30 am now, but since it's the weekend even it's a little early for me to workout! Have a great day!

Good morning Mickey's! I maintained this week. My allergies are bad right now and I am not on plan with anything. Darn crazy weather!

Today is catch up on cleaning. Too cold to go out anyway.

Have a great weekend all!!!:goodvibes

I hear you on allergies. We never got out of allergy season here in NM. Drs say allergy season is from the first tiny sprout on a twig until the last leaf is off EVERYTHING, but it never happens! sigh........

Hope things get better for you soon!
