Team Mickey - Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Challenge

Hi Liz

Here's one for you: look up BodyRock.tv and its also on FB. Its a FREE, daily, 12 minute hardcore exercise program, similar to having a personal trainer, the Jillian workouts, all the Insanity, P90X type stuff. Its crazy! I have been doing it all this week and its killer! Check it out and let me know what you think. Every two weeks you do these Fit Tests, and see if you can do better than before. WOW! Its intense! And its FREE!

Ooh, thanks! I had some offline friends recommend Chalean Extreme, too, so I have some great suggestions going. I'm definitely going to start in on Tracy Anderson, but I want to make sure I have a good backup in case that goes south. :)

Good morning TEAM MICKEY! ::MickeyMo

It will be fun to have a little mini-BL meet at PCC soon, Tracey and Liz! :cool2:

We should definitely do that! I would love to meet you guys on the boat. Let's touch base as we get closer. DH knows for sure, but I think we're in 10110...

What have you been able to do that you couldn't do in the past? What is one of your goals for the future?

Disney QOTD
What ride just screams "I'm at Disney"?
What I can do now...I'm so much stronger than I was before I started this challenge. I can pick and hold onto DD5 for so much longer! My muscles actually have definition, where I'm used to being a lot squishier. :) And I can wear jeans in the smallest size I've ever worn! One of my goals for the future is to try running and, if I like it, work myself up to a half marathon. That's a huge goal for me to put out there in public...we'll see what happens!

Disney ride that screams "I'm at Disney!!!!" has to be Dumbo. It's so classic! It's a Small World is right up there with it for me, and Haunted Mansion and Pirates, too. Hm, all MK based, so I'll add Soarin'! One of my personal favorites. Both DDs were tall enough when we went last spring to go on Soarin', and it was their first time. The ride finished, and DD7 (then 6) exclaimed, "That was AMAZING!!!" :cutie:

I'm not getting a workout in today, but it's a busy one - we took DDs to see Justin Roberts this morning; it was a great concert! We had lunch at Noodles and Company (I researched and planned and had a wonderful filling lunch for 6 points!), and now I'm heading out for a chamber choir rehearsal - we're singing the Saturday service (as well as both services tomorrow), and then we have our church's annual chili cook-off. YUM! Happy weekend, everyone!

Disney QOTD

QUTD#1 - I can play tennis... kind of..... but I am having fun learning a new sport and have met some neat people along the way!

QOTD#@ - Space Mountain! It's the first "roller coaster" I ever went on and it was sooooo futuristic. Whenever I go back on, it takes me right back!

QOTD 1: I can do 30 Day Shred completely without having to stop. I can walk 2.5 miles on the treadmill at 2mph and feel awesome (not exhausted) after I complete it

QOTD 2: IASW and Dumbo

Afternoon ::MickeyMo

Its a gorgeous day here in Kissimmee! I woke up REALLY late today after being up til almost 5am. I just couldn't sleep and stayed up and watched DVR'ed episodes of NCIS. I got up and talked with Alan to make sure the Schwans had in fact showed up, he had. Then I some soup and sharp cheddar cheese for lunch. Then slowly started cleaning. My bathroom is done (minus the tub that Alan is doing right now), bed is made, kitchen is cleaned, dishwasher going, and I just need to get off my duff and put all the laundry away (I keep procrastinating on that one). We completely forgot to take something out for dinner so we'll more then likely be winging it, either leftover or something that can just be thrown in the oven or microwave.

Taylor still hasn't showed up and Alan tried to get hold of my mom to let her know. He's texted her, called her, and left voicemails and we still haven't heard from her. I'm hoping this doesn't turn into a big huge "blame alan game" because I will not be happy. As Alan put it, "Sh*t happens, we've done everything we can to try to find her and she hasn't showed up."

On to more happier weight loss news I found a pair of Lane Bryant linen/cotton pants that I hadn't seen in years. I went to look at the tag before slipping them on, size 20. THEY FIT! They were a tad snug but I'm sure once I wear them more and work them in they'll loosen up. I'm hoping to go to Wally World tomorrow and try on size 20 shorts and see what the verdict is. I bought 22s a few weeks ago and they are already starting to fall off of me. I'm shooting to be in a size 18 by end of April when bestie comes down.

Hey everyone. I've been added to Team Mickey, well I guess until we combine again later.

Now I gotta work on catching up this weekend. I'm logging off to watch a movie but will come back later and try to catch up some. :goodvibes Hope everyone is off to a great weekend.

Welcome to TEAM MICKEY!

Welcome to Team Mickey! We're glad to have you!

Okay, so I have an NSV! I have been trackng every day since Tuesday. I had a mondo headache tonight and didn't feel like cooking. My husband suggested Olive Garden. I made sure everything I ate was vegan- and I tracked it all! I always fall off the wagon when it comes to restaurants because I fnd t harder to track- but I did it nd managed to stay OP. also made sure to get a walk to earn some activity points and offset some of the higher calorie choices. Thsi is a pretty big step for me.

Whats something good to get at Olive Garden that isn't a ton of points and is still no meat? Awesome work, by the way!!

Sorry about the cat, and stuff does happen. Maybe she will turn up yet. And major congratulations on the new size! Great job!!

:woohoo: Just found out that we get to go to Cirque de Soleil when we go in June/July! We get two tickets to see La Nouba as that group that we did the bowlathon with two weeks ago won a February Give Kids the World challenge and the podcast team announced that members of the winning team each get two tickets! We've never been! This should be COOL! So excited!

Been very bad today or at least this afternoon and tonight. Glad I worked out this morning! I will work out a few times tomorrow on the elliptical and maybe do the 30 Day Shred!

Good morning TEAM MICKEY! ::MickeyMo

Melinda, great job on the more intense workout! :thumbsup2 It's good to have people to help give you a little nudge -- otherwise I would have a tendency to rest on my laurels. ;)

Did you see the aurora borealis at your house this week? :cool2: I saw a newsclip that was from your neck of the woods. We occasionally get them here but I've never seen them -- it's usually too cloudy on the good nights.

Thanks Lisa!! Slowly but surely its coming together. I am feeling energized! Its funny how working harder can actually give you energy. :confused3

I did not see the aurora borealis. It was pretty cloudy. My dad even called from Kentucky to ask about it, but no, I couldn't see anything. It would be cool, though!

Awesome! You get to go to Cirque de Soleil! That will be so fun! Good luck getting the elliptical exercises in! And the 30 Day Shred! I did Ripped in 30 today and it was great!

Today was a great day. Got in a little exercise and worked on some computer stuff. My DD12 (13 tomorrow!- HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADISON!) had her last basketball game of the season today. Her team was playing for the championship. They unfortunately didn't win, but they did get 2nd place in their league, and they each got a nice sweatshirt. She was proud of her team, and of herself.

My DD17 went to a 3-day National Qualifying Speech meet on Thursday. She made it through the first round, into semi finals, and I got a breathless call last night that she made it into the final round. Then today just as we were leaving DD12's basketball game she called me literally in tears of joy saying that she is going to Nationals! She has worked so hard on this, and I'm so proud of her!

Have a great on plan night and day everyone!

Quick QOTD, running late for roller skating.
What do you like to do for fun?

Disney QOTD
When was your first trip to Disney?

QOTD#1 - I like to play volleyball, racket ball, snow skiing, knee boarding, camping..... but mostly hanging out with my family!

#2
I first went to Disney World in the mid 70's. WE camped at Fort Wilderness in a little pop up! It was freezing! I was so little but have so many incredible memories of my mom, dad and brother. The first time I walked down Main Street with my DH, DD and DS, I just started crying. I was flooded with so many wonderful memories of my family and so happy to be walking holding hands with my little ones!

Thank you Sunshineminnie and Buffy! My DD17 is still on cloud 9 from her Speech win!

What have you been able to do that you couldn't do in the past? What is one of your goals for the future?

I was able to fully run a half marathon, albeit very slowly, I still kept up that running motion the whole way. And in January when this started, although I had done 6 other half marathons, I had never fully ran even a mile. I do a lot of run/walk intervals, but with a little bit of weight loss came a whole lot more strength. I feel like there is nothing I can't do if I put my mind to it! It was a definite confidence boost. What do I want to do next? I want to keep challenging myself, getting outside my comfort zone, and really push myself and see what I can do. It's an exciting time in my life.

Disney QOTD
What ride just screams "I'm at Disney"? Its A Small World!

QOTD: We like to play games, watch movies and cook together for fun! We also love to plan our Disney trips together!

My first trip to Disney was in June of 1997 with my DH. He had given me the trip for Valentine's Day that year!

OK, skipped all workouts today. Right hip was bothering me this afternoon. I did horrible with food and water today. DST messed me up. SO once again I am making a vow to workout everyday and watch what I eat and drink TONS of water! I have a weekend at a friend's house in 2 weeks and she has a hot tub so I really need to stay focused for the next 2 weeks. It's going to be beautiful this week so I will hopefully get out to walk during the week even with the girls' half days.

Tomorrow I plan on working out at 5, 11 and 2. I will be cleaning out the laundry and storage rooms tomorrow in anticipation of my parent's visit in less than 2 months. I need to throw lots of stuff out and find my Easter decorations. I will probably listen to some podcasts and maybe watch a movie or two!

Off to bed shortly. Not sure I will finish watching Celebrity Apprentice tonight. I am really tired!

Evening ::MickeyMo

Well, today totally threw me off (like I'm sure it did many people). We didn't go to bed til almost 4am (were up enjoying ourselves). Then I started feeling really warm and no matter what I did I couldn't get cooled down. I think maybe I'm getting sick. I wound up not even waking up til almost 3pm, just in time for the Nascar race. Tony Stewart won which was awesome!

We had a late lunch of chicken patties on bread. Then we watched a little tv and decided to rent a PPV movie, Tower Heist. I munched during the movie on fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, Pringles, and water. We loved the movie and I'll probably be heading to bed soon so I can get up at a normal hour. Everything that didn't get done today I'm hoping to accomplish tomorrow. I really want to get to Wally World and buy size 20 shorts! :) Hope everyone has a great upcoming week!

What do you like to do for fun?

Baking, watching movies, playing Farmville (guilty pleasure), visiting Disney World :)

Disney QOTD
When was your first trip to Disney?

September 1995, I was 11 years old. We did a 4 or 5 day cruise on the Big Red Boat and then another 3 or 4 days at Disney World. We stayed at All Star Music. I don't remember much from the trip.

Good morning, everyone!

What do you like to do for fun?

Disney QOTD
When was your first trip to Disney?

For fun, I love to read, sing, eat out, go to the movies, take road trips...not a lot of super-active stuff in there, but I make that fit, too! I just don't enjoy it quite as much. ;)

My first trip to Disney was in 1997 - I was 25 years old! I went with friends, stayed off-site, and visited MK, Pleasure Island, Downtown Disney, and I'm sure some other things that have gone from my memory. I just loved it - my parents were definitely not the Disney types, so we never went when I was a kid. I have more than made up for those missed years!

I got up this morning and did a Tracy Anderson mat workout. It was hard, but not as hard as it was the first time I tried it months ago - I think Jillian got me ready to tackle this one!

I skipped workouts this weekend - we were so busy, and then I felt under the weather yesterday and took a 2 1/2 hour nap instead of anything active. There's been a lot going around, and the latest just dusted us a little bit - thankfully, nothing major (knock wood)!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

I like Barbara Galloway, too, she is very nice and knowledgeable. The bra thing is a trial and error one I'm afraid. I have the very expensive Enell but it is not my favorite. I rotate and use a lot of Body Glide. I'm hoping as I get closer to my goal it will get easier. I also really like the New Balance tops with the built in bra -- just be sure you get black and not white. :rolleyes1

We don't hear so many accents in our neck of the woods so maybe it is more noticeable to me. ;)

Every race I've run has been by myself so I know what you mean. It's nice to have only yourself to depend on and not worry about holding someone else back. As you do more and more you will feel more comfortable. If you can get yourself used to the Galloway "run happy" idea right off the bat I think that would be very helpful. :hippie: A lot of my running at first was scared or freaked out and trust me it was no fun at all.

ITA I'm not too excited about drinking bright green stuff. :rotfl:

Barbara was very nice and even offered to order bras in my size. I got one from Enell (I think) but I ordered my size and its too small. Right now I am good with the one from oldnavy.com - too bad it creates the "Uni****" though.
I am looking forward to running the Everest with a bunch of Disney fans. I never have a problem talking to people, so it shouldn't be an issue. Would just be nice to have a partner to help with those Scavenger Hunt things! ;)
I am still thinking about that shake and not liking the green color - but once I get my new blender, I will try it!

Hi Everyone! Thought I would check in with my health conscious Disney peeps and ask a question. I am trying very hard to give up my Diet Pepsi habit. I only drink 2 cans a day, but still I read how bad diet pop is. I did give it up while I was pregnant, but went right back to it the moment I delivered (DD was bottle fed). I HATE plain water. I've tried the whole add lemon to it thing, and still...YUCK! I really like Propel, but it has sucralose. Do you guys think that Propel is any better than Diet Pepsi? If I hear a bunch of "NOs" than I'm going to the vending machine and getting a can! LOL Thanks for any input!

Hey all! Sorry I'm late, we had a tax appt this morning. I liken it to going to the Dentist. Has to be done, but it makes me sooooo nervous!!

So QOTD:
Now that daylight savings is here, how are you adjusting your schedule? Is dinner still at the same time or does it seem to come a little later?

Disney QOTD:
Do you have any type of routine at Disney? Or is every trip the same?

Dinner messes me up. I'm so used to starting dinner as it gets dark out, we are starting to eat later, which is not good! But we've also been enjoying the longer days outside as well.

Disney - We always eat at Earl of Sandwich as soon as we get there. We always eat at Sci -Fi Dine - In on our last day. But everything else is up for grabs in between.

So QOTD:
Now that daylight savings is here, how are you adjusting your schedule? Is dinner still at the same time or does it seem to come a little later?

Last night we ate late as I didn't realize how late it had gotten. We will most days still eat early. In a few weeks soccer will be starting so we will have to eat early on those days or have something small and then eat late. I prefer to eat early so I have time to workout what I ate and the food isn't sitting in the pit of my stomach when I go to bed!

Disney QOTD:
Do you have any type of routine at Disney? Or is every trip the same?

We have a few routines that I'm not sure we will be able to stick to this coming trip. We usually always go to Soarin' right away, get FP, ride it, eat breakfast and then ride it again. We usually like to visit MK on our first day and our last day. We love to be there at Rope Drop for all the parks and rush to Everest or Toy Story Mania, etc. We also always stop in England for drinks.

Been a pretty good day so far for me. I ate a big lunch and will try to not eat as much at dinner though I am getting in an extra workout tonight. I've done 40 minutes on the elliptical so far and some ab, leg and arm exercises. I spent about 2+ hours working on cleaning out the storage room. I've still got quite a bit to do in there but at least it was a start. I want to combine a lot of things and also toss a bunch as well.

Izzie has dancing tonight. I think we are going to have gorditas for supper. I have the meat all ready for that. I need to try and plan out our meals for the rest of the week too. Brian and I also need to go on our Disney Movie Rewards site and order some things for the girls. I saw that they have a Stitch Pillow Pet and that is Ash's favorite! I also might make some brownies or an angel food cake.

Need to get cleaned up to pick up Izzie soon. Ash is at play auditions so I have to wait for her to call me to pick her up. Finished a book on the kindle this afternoon after lunch so I get to start a new one or re-read Hunger Games. We hope to take Ash to see it next Friday night if the time works out. Izzie may go to a pj party at dancing!
