Team Hakuna Matata; Masters of the Holidays!

Have a great Turkey day.

We finished up the lights tonight. Yeah!!!!

Happy Turkey Day, well I guess it is happy for most except for the Turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving!! I ran 4 miles last night with DF. The ground was wet and frozen in places. We had to slow down a lot when we noticed the ground sparkling, just in case. I'm going to run on the TM tonight and get in some speedwork.

Eva - Sounds like the wedding plans are coming along! I was thinking of changing my reservation but my TA told me that all the WDW rooms are booked solid for the first two weeks and a bit in January. I guess it will be busy!

Margie - Did you get a skirt? I was trying to think of which color would match the WISH shirt the best :)

Scott/Lynn - Any pics of the Christmas decorations? I'm jealous 'cause I don't think we're doing any this year at my house :(

Connie/Dave/Sue/Diane/Anne and anyone else I missed - :wave2:

Have a great day!

Starting to Snow right now, pie is almost done, turkey ready to pop in the oven, green beans and yams ready, what type A percision LOL

When the Turkey goes in we will get out get some of the grounds stuff up, Lowes has Christmas decoration on sale 25% off tomorrow so guess where we will be, then film at 11:00 .

Eva my princess will be working today also, the people in the ICU/CCU just wouldn't cooperate and all get well.

I had a nice, chilly, race this morning. It was a 3K walk race along with a 5K run race. Our 22nd annual turkey trott to raise money for a scholarship to WKU. I was 3rd, can't race walk very well on trails, with a pace of 11:37 mpm.

I was a litle disappointed that they didn't give out these really cool key chains for awards this year. They gave sented candles. But the less spent on awards the more that goes to the cause.

Yes Denise we want pics of the new you.

Have a wonderful day y'all Gobble Gobble.

Team Panda:hippie:

Congrats on your race Dave!! Candles are good for romantic evenings .... or power outages :rotfl: Actually the last time the power went out at home, my parents were scrambling to find some.

Dave Congrats on your race, I will find a key chain for ya .

I can not recall how many thanksgivings, Christmas' and new years I have worked in the past, such is shift work where 24/7 is the norm.

Scott - nice job on the lights - Lynn to, I'm sure she helped.

Dave, great on the race!

Eva, pumpkin pie no matter who provides is always welcome.

Bunnyfoo, I understand about the change in stride during the winter. We walk after dark a lot and even tho we have our geeky lights, I still worry about falling so we take it easy.

Mark and I went out last night for 5+ miles and again this afternoon for 5, trying to keep the feast off my thighs. It felt good. It was a great day for walking.

I made 33 bottles of Bailey's Irish cream to give as gifts for co-workers - it has to sit for at least 2 weeks in the freezer so it should be perfect by Christmas week. (Markie helped too) - can you tell he's over my shoulder reading this? Love you Markie....

Well, I have to finish up some stuff before I head off to bed. Take care all.

Hi All!

It's taken until a holiday night off to finally have an hour of down time to read and catch up.

I will try to send my hours, but truth be told, I haven't even been logging them like I use to. I HAVE however, been continuing to train. Even when we went to wdw, I did a 2 hour long walk from the Boardwalk, all the way around past the swan and dolphin, and yacht and beach club, then cut in before the underpass, around the boardwalk and did that a couple times as well as heading over to DHS. Since returning , the weather has turned colder, the days are shorter and training is more eratic. I rejoined the Y though and have had a couple times where I go after work and do a 1 hour body toning class, 1/2 hours on the treadmill then 1 hour bosu class - so 2.5 hours of exercise. I figure that counts for something. I'm a little worried about getting the distance training in that I'll need to the wdw half. Oh well, day by day.
I'm trying now to incorporate water and other fuel foods into my walking to see how it affects me. I'm not really a water or food person with my workouts, so almost all my long distance runs/walks are done shortly after waking, on an empty stomach and I barely drink 8 oz of water. I'm reading marathoning for mortals and they say that really isn' t a good way to do it, so trying to figure out how to adjust. I have 10K (my first) on Sat. It's supposed to 41 degrees and raining.

Scott, great lights!
Eva, DD wanted to make pumpking pie for today, but I talked her into pumpkin swirl cheesecake instead and ti was yummy - and CONGRATS on the wedding plans
Dave, I want to find time to read the oct thread about the TOT. Are they doing it next year - and BTW - I have logged onto the blog a couple times - nice job

And everyone else Happy thanksgiving again!

Anne

Thanks Guys, Lynn was a big help, up early to head off to Lowes for our shopping,

I am pretty sure they will do TOT next year, we plan on being there.

Cool and very very foggy here this morn.

Miranda and I did our 5 mile route this morning. We saw the streets were wet and then about 1/2 way into our walk we realized it was starting to hail. Alas we were dressed for it and continued.

I'm glad to be back and starting to make breakfast for the kids. Then laundry and packing as our flight tomorrow is at 6:30 am - I have already printed our boarding passes. We should be in Orlando by 9:30. Yippee!

Have a good "black friday" I plan on hitting the grocery store for my last min shopping, I"m staying away from any other type of store.

Have a great day all!

Good morning everyone! I did some speed work on the TM last night. Does anyone know how to convert the speed on the TM to m/m? Today is my rest day but I'm back out tomorrow morning for an 8 mile run. I just have to plot out my route and I'm all set.

Denise - WTG for getting in all those miles! I was driving last night and noticed the group from our running store was out. Some of the runners had lights for their shoes. Those looked pretty cool!

Anne - I have a tough time running when I have any food in my stomach so I can relate. I usually have to eat 1-1.5 hours before heading out and even then it has to be something easily digestable like toast w/jam or honey. I've tried going out on an empty stomach and it doesn't work out well when I run more than 3 miles. Good luck on your 10K this weekend! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain.

Scott - I'll check out the pics at home. They don't work in the office for some reason.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Morning everyone! I'm sitting here procrastinating before my 8 miler. No sun today but at least everything's dry :)

Scott/Lynn - The lights look fantastic! I especially love the snowflakes on your fence! I've noticed more people putting them up in my neighbourhood as well so running at night is a little more interesting now!

Ok, I've really got to get into my running gear or I'll be here the whole day.

:wave2: TEAM!

Sounds like healthy eating was the focus the past few days ...

:hippie: Congratulations on your race :cool1:

Scott & Lynn - Love the decorations...As Scott says KWEL!!!!
I am switching my mini outdoor lights to the LEDs, they do look different. I buy a few each time I find them on sale. The regular ones are always on sale and much cheaper. DD does not like the LEDs, but hoping you are using them with all the lights you have up! :scared1:

Vicky, I could not get a Running Skirt that was on sale, as they did not have the color I wanted in the correct size - but black, navy, brown, or gray would all look good with the lime green/yellow shirts.- its YOUR color preference - :upsidedow

We are having a really nice day, 40 degrees, and sunny so I am going to scrap going to the gym and take a walk this afternoon.

Connie, Dave & Erica, Denise & Mark, Scott & Lynn, Diane, Eva, Jennifer, Jen, Kathy, Kim & Mike, Sue, and Vicky!

Good morning team mates.

How is everyone feeling? It's hard to believe that the January marathon weekend is only 6 weeks away. It some ways it seems like it was only a few weeks since we last went the distance. This will be wonderful because we can meet new friends and log another memory into our vault of good times.

Erica and I are still working extra hours, but our motivation level is staying strong. We will be there and be strong.

Tired Panda:hippie:

Hi all

Im gere at the BWV. A beauty of a day. Went to Epcot today and had a margarita and nachos at 11:30 Sat out side and enjoyed the day. Walked around the world and then back to the room for a nap. We were awake at 2:30 so its been a rather long day. Heading to the MK tonight.

We'll try for power miles tomorrow.

TTFN

Margie, I think LED is the way to go.

We actually put up a few more since the picture, just things to line the walk way to the front door. Good thing I got those up before the Space Shuttle lands. LOL

I got out for a run and Lynn for a walk, windy with snow but it felt really good.

I am about ready to pop some indivdual Turkey Pot pies in the oven for dinner tonight, Then maybe some seriopus Wii gaming tonight.

We did buy a new car this morning, went looking on a lark last night, local Jeep dealer was very very behind on their monthly sales, so incentives were very nice and then I found that Jeep is offering an AARP discount , basically employee financing, then add on the incentives we got what I feel is a very very very good deal, I hate buying cars and our old Jeep was 18 years old, did not trade it in , I think I will convert it to My toy,

I really wish we were at WDW with Denise, but Marathon weekend is 6 weeks away, time top concentrate on staying healthy.
