I ordered a new purse from the Southwest Indian Foundation last night. Not cheap. Real leather. I bought one from them 8 years ago. It is showing some wear on the bottom and corners. I had to 'jimmy-rig' one of the strap clamps that broke a few months ago. Here's a pic of the one I just ordered.

That lasted well, cute too

So last night I took the boys to the vet and when I got home i started feeling excrutiating pain in my right heel (which happens to be the foot that is getting operated on). I never had heel pain before (the other problem is near the toes). It was so bad this mornign I came to work with a cane as I can't put full pressure on it without seeing stars.

Oh no! I'm glad you're seeing the doctor soon though.

There is a belief that once the children get to a certain age...all "hope" is lost.

The biggest looser was taping in our district this week. They will air about 1 minute of a segment on the 1st week of Feb show. The trainer Bob came to pump up the teachers who are doing a big challenge.

Bunko was nice last night. I didn't drink and came home by 10:30. I don't want to get sick, as I am not all the way better from my last illness, so I am taking it easy.

I am making a pot of Chicken Corn Chowder soup from Boma. It isn't thickening though.... Thoughts? Anyone?

Ok, just a fly by, but here's what happened.
Dr. said, you aren't the first to have this, won't be the last. He prescribed Zoloft (at least I'm familiar with this one from SD!!) in a low daily dose. Don't change it until I see him in 4 weeks. He is a good friend (as well as my fam. dr.) and he said, "Mel, I am positive that this will help!!" So, I feel GOOD now! There might be an end to sad Mel...

He also said to TAKE THE XANAX so that I can sleep tonight! He said I should stop trying to be superwoman. I told him, no that's Jo! LOL!

Thanks for all the love, girls (and Mr. T!) It means so much!

Every three years they re-evaluate a student's progress and need for further testing. We'll deny that.

Now that he is in Middle School, they begin to plan their degree plan. I knew it was coming. It just seems so soon.

I was told that they would be putting Jon on a "Certificate of Completion" plan. That means they feel he will be unable to complete the requirements for a diploma. I have ALWAYS known this. It's not a surprise. But, sometimes it's just jarring. Sort of a "reminder" of sorts.

So, I'm fixing to change hats. My mean momma hat will be on shortly. I am ready to code switch.

Send good thoughts. I tried to get an advocate down here with me, but she wasn't able to come in today, but we met the other day. I hate being a *****.

I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND ALL THAT Jen.. IT SUCKS.. when they sit there in front of you and tell you.. "he can't earn a diploma" ...
but we'll give him something...

However I developed Some.... uh.. testosterone.. and if I do not like what they say... I do tell them I want it changed... Sometimes it works.. sometimes it partially works...

You can take a picture of an outhouse... and make it look good with angles, and lighting.. so I do not ever believe pictures

I have a great friend who OWNS a Timeshare there( bought and Paid for)
He is going to let me stay there in June for a week for 200.00 ( the exchange fee) Normally he rents it for 300.00+ exchage fee for friends, and 600.00+ for others.


So... What's wrong with the place ?? He says it's fabulous.

Well I may be shoveling snow this weekend, but at least I won't be MOWING THE LAWN in JANUARY!!!!!!!

OMG that completely slips my head that it's still snowing a lot of places still. I still count Mowing the lawn as a workout.

I also expect to have to fight for him to keep services. Once they transition to secondary...the schools don't like to give them ancillary services. (i.e. speech, OT, etc) There is a belief that once the children get to a certain age...all "hope" is lost.

OMG too funny!!! I didn't even realize how the sounded 'til you pointed it out! Sadly no warranty, but she does have a one way ticket to Bangladesh as soon as I pay it off.
